The OG SHFs may not look very good nowadays, but they still very much hold up in terms of articulation and engineering. The original Black, for example, may as well be like a blank articulated body, I loved messing with him and Kuuga and Agito back when my collection was still starting out.

As for SS Black, just treat him gently. Bend joins that feel tight slowly, use shock oil on ones that feel a bit too rigid and as for the rubber and display him in a pose that won't stress the material over time. I keep mine in one of his signature poses that doesn't have his arms spread or splayed out and since my room's also cool, the rubber's been fine.

Sounds like a lot of maintenance for what should be a fun toy, but trust me it's worth it and he poses fantastically.

If I could best describe the feel of the old Kuugas it'd be that they're like Souchaku Henshin only prettier and more fun. No bulky metal armour, just metal feet. Solid jointing, quality paint, and Pegasus' bowgun actually has geared thingies, which even the Figure-rise didn't do! These almost feel like they're from a Kuuga anime or something. (in fact they're proportionally very similar to the manga, albeit not aesthetically)

Cheers on the advice, too! Luckily for Black I am getting him mostly for display. I have the model kit if I want to take lots of action shots and the Renewal if I just want something to handle without fear. Hell, I'm even considering getting the OG Black just so I can have the entire evolution of Figuarts represented in one suit. The SS will be a lot more look, a lot less touch. :D

Also I may have been a bit bad and ordered more Kuugas just now. :x Funny how my Figuarts collection has ballooned in just this year alone, and yet despite being nowhere near as refined and accurate as the Zero One SHFs, I still feel like I got my money's worth of these Kuugas. Figuarts today are practically art pieces at times, but there's something to be said about the days when they were still basically toys.

Only odd thing I've noticed is that Ultimate Kuuga is a lot taller than the rest. Almost by a whole head. He seemed normal sized in the show, at least when he transformed next to Ichijo, but then there wasn't much height comparisons in that snowy field. Is this actually accurate or just Bandai trying to make it look cooler?

Since many ppl are getting the Fuuto PI SS Cylone Joker because its cheaper than a regular ss cylone joker on the aftermarket (and because it comes with more stuff), SHF Upgrade is offerring a service where they can repaint your fuuto ss cyclone joker to a color scheme more akin to the live action show. So the listing is for the service and you have to mail them your ss fuuto pi w. Its pretty much for domestic customers in hk.

... oh! Huh. I didn't realise that the Fuuto PI version actually HAD any real differences; does anyone know the big ones? I guess comparison will be easier once it's actually out in a few days though

Biggest difference is the larger scarf option is a wired fabric one rather than a large plastic piece. More subtle difference is W's overall pain scheme is more accurate-looking and a bit more metallic in the Cyclone side's case.

Honestly the differences in green are very subtle and half the time look more like the product of different lighting. Seems like a bit of an unnecessary service but maybe some people are really particular about specific shades.

If SHF Upgrade sold a replacement Seihou scarf, I would buy it for my FRS figure.

This means a new event with new reveals, too! Would be nice to see Elemental and Xross Saber, Falchion would be nice, and then Rampage Vulcan. There's a likelihood for us to see a ver. Aruto of Zero-Two as well with how simple to make one is.

Seihou Blade would be a godsend, as well.

BEYOND excited for Original Colours #1! The description goes into detail about how it's a completely new mold to the previous #1 releases to get down the intricacies of the unique suit design and he features so SO much good shit like a wired fabric muffler and an exposed neck and hair. This is straight up one of the most beautiful SHFs to ever exist and I'm so happy they went to this extent for my biggest SHF want period.

... so of COURSE it's Tamashii Nations exclusive! God help me I'm going to get this thing no matter the cost

I'm thinking it'll be something we saw at Tamashii given how long it's been since we've seen certain Seihou lines make progress. Saga, Zeronos Zero, Deneb; potentially a lot of different things from Den-O, actually.

Revice one is obviously Live, not sure if it really is "long-awaited" :lol

The W one, by being optimistic of them not just talking about the blu-ray exclusive reissues, would be three things. Extreme, Accel Trial, or the Nazca dopant they unveiled years ago. They're all "new modelling".

The new Seihou one, I would be perfectly fine if it's Saga. But the hopium in me wants Blade because they're keeping a secret from which series it belongs to.

I hope the seihou is Ryuki he needs the renewal treatment badly my Ryuki figuart doesn’t stand up anymore. It also a good time because the anniversary 20th for Ryuki.

What places were good for pre-orders last year? Did Hobby-Genki carry them? I've seen listings on their website for the 2020 and 2021 exclusives but I don't know if those were pre-orders at first or if they got stock after the fact

They do have, but you may have to pay premium for them and even so, it will be sold out in minutes if not seconds.

For this year's exclusive, particularly ichigo, that's what I am expecting.

Btw, I kind of remember the price for last years' exclusive on HobbyGenki is double of the retail price.

I think it will depend on how they handle it. In 2020 they had "public" days during which everyone could order the event exclusives on PB; I remember easily getting Shining Hopper from a middleman.

2021 though, they first announced public days but then later cancelled them and everyone who wanted the exclusives needed to be a club member. Needless to say, middleman listings were scarce and expensive.

I feel like I have seen new condition hellrising hopper for $100-$125 from resellers. Pretty expensive, but not, like, unattainably expensive.

I did not see any preorder links for any of the tamashii convention exclusive figuarts from last year. However, they all made their way to mandarake eventually, so you have options if you don’t mind getting a preowned one. It might end up being the same with this wave, or at least some of the ones from this wave. (Nobody talking about Evil Trigger, so hopefully that will be easy for a dirt grub like me to get. And zenkaizer black. That’s the other one I want).

It's Original Colours #1 I want, and that's the one I specifically think will be very expensive on the aftermarket... Sakurajima was also Tamashii Nations exclusive and that goes for something like 20,000 yen now. Even the normal retail release of #1 goes for 12,000
