These kids though, feel forced in. Anyway, I decided to watch four more episodes tonight. Not sure what else I can say about the show I haven't already said, but damn they were so good. I think my favorite episode is the one where Char gives his speech to the world about the truth of the Titans. Also, of course it was great seeing the Psycho Gundam and Four is an interesting character despite how little she is in the show. In fact, the whole Kilimanjaro two parter is truly spectacular. |

I just found out Wilfred Kijima and Shinn Asuka have the same voice actor...
*internally squees* |
Shinn Asuka... probably the worst Gundam pilot ever. God I hate Asuka. He felt like they were trying to recreate Kamille (hell, they even kill his girlfriend off in the same manner with a Not Psycho Gundam) and was so annoying they decided to make him a secondary character and turned Kira into the main character again. Now that is pretty bad.

No, I have no issue with Kira in the first series. I'm not a fan of him, but I don't hate him the way I hate Shin. Shin is just a wannabe Kamille but without any likability to him.
Anyway, what can I say? I have completed Zeta Gundam and my god six years was too long of a wait to rewatch this show. I really need to watch it again later on this year at a slower pace, but I'll probably wait and do that after both volumes of ZZ are out. The last batch of episodes are down right fantastic, albeit not without their little hiccups. For example, the AEUG has joined forced with Axis, but then suddenly they are fighting against Axis in the next episode becaaaaaaaaaause, well, just because. No reason is given why Kamille suddenly wants Haman dead, he just does. Also, as awesome as the last two episodes are, way too many characters die in too short of a time span to the point where it feels like they were being killed just for the sake of it instead of because the story needed them to die. I love it and hate it at the same time. The Quebeley is hands down the best non-Gundam mech in the franchise and Haman Karn is easily the best female character. My god that lady is just insanely badass. The animation continues to impress, especially in the fast motion scenes at the end and the ending itself is so depressingly good. Oh, I kept forgetting to mention this, but the subtitles are kind of weird at times. I'm not sure why they keep saying "Corrected" for discipline, but it just seems like a really odd word choice. Also, do the Japanese have a different definition for what an autistic child is? Because Kamille is not even remotely autistic. I'm still unsure as to whether this or Wing is my favorite Gundam series, but it is definitely right there. Of course, I haven't watched Wing in 6 years either, so my opinion of it may not be as high anymore. With that said, the wait for the ZZ BD is going to be unbearable. I know its only 2-3 months away, but that can feel like a long time when you are highly anticipating it. |

Shinn had actual character. He was deeply, DEEPLY flawed, but watching him was actually rewarding, there was some investment to be made with the raging, vengeance-fueled Kamille stand-in. |
