I own SS Eternal, I would be ecstatic for him to get a reissue so that others, including a good friend of mine, could get him too.
I'd probably rebuy Kuuga Ultimate, I hated having to sell him. Wanting old figures to stay hard to get and expensive is such a dumb mindset. |

Really excited for CJX. I don't really like the design but I love the character enough that I'll probably end up preordering it.

I have to admit I'm really considering Wizard myself. For most of my main Rider collection I've gone with FRS and have only gone to SHF for ones FRS isn't doing (mainly spinoffs), my favourites like Kuuga and OOO that I want to splurge for, and Build-onwards due to how comparative the prices are (plus FRS isn't doing Reiwa right now anyway). Otherwise I find that FRS' versions of the main Riders are either as good as what I'd get out of Figuarts if not even better in some cases (I prefer how FRS does Den-O's armour, you've got stuff like W's form changes and swappable Decadrivers) that I don't feel like I'm missing out. And, well, FRS being as affordable and available as it is is why I'm even doing a main rider collection because there's no way I'm spending that much money, time and stress on Figuarts for all of them.
Wizard though... is the exception. I'm sure that however FRS does him he will be good, but there's a good case for the Seihou being one of the best SHFs ever made and with its variety of features or even just the wired cape alone, I can't imagine there being anything less than a massive gulf between that and however the FRS turns out. Every single image I see of this thing is sheer beauty and a re-issue (ie a version I haven't immediately discarded from consideration due to a 14,000 yen pricetag) is suddenly having me tempted |
Seihou Wizard is indeed one of the most beautiful Figuarts, if not action figures, ever made. Metallic parts, clear parts, fabrics parts, minute detail, extreme posability... you want to show someone how far figures have come, Wizard is one of the single figures you can easily do that with.
For non-Kamen Rider fans, I believe he stands out really well among costume designs that seek to blend fantasy and future. Indeed I was hoping we didn't see a Seihou re-release until I we saw what the FRS could bring to the table, but I'm glad this figure is getting a re-release. It's too good to stay in the aftermarket. |
I second that about the Wizard Seihou it is indeed a beautifully designed figure that imo stands out in any collection but at the same time fits in with any toyline. The wired cloth allows for some very dynamic poses just as seen in the show and I truly believe Bandai righted a wrong that was the original KR Wizard figuart with those terrible proportions.
The KR FRS line is definitely welcomed and appreciated and if it was around during the time I was getting into Kamen Rider figuarts I'd probably opted to go that route but then again figuarts WERE the price of FRS back then. In general I'm happy it gives fans an opportunity to start up a nice looking collection without breaking the bank and yes the line keeps getting better and better with closing the gap somewhat on looking very similar to figuarts. Scale aside of course. |

I don't understand why some people are complaining about SS re-issues. It gives collectors that missed the first time another chance to get the figure at SRP / not overpriced aftermarket prices. Not everybody has instant cash to spend on figures all the time.
I for one would like re-issues for some of the SS that I missed the first time. Skull, Eternal, Ibuki, Zanki, Kick/Punch Hopper etc. |
Is Live a regular retail release or Pbandai store exclusive like Jeanne?

The way I read the Wizard comment was that a person who buys all Kamen Rider SHFs will be compelled to buy the rereleases as well. This could be read as Bandai milking their completionist fans selling them the same figure multiple times.
I don’t consider myself a completionist, and I hope that preorder for the Wizard reissue is plentiful. When I first started looking in to SHFs about a year ago, I saw that wired skirt/cloak thing and it blew my mind. So cool. Also for some reason I have Kamen Rider Beast, so I can have another figure from that show. And thanks for the Hobby-Genki links. I got that double final form preordered. I’ve been enjoying Fuuto-Pi. |
That group shot looks great and look forward to seeing them together and yeah it reminds me of simpler times during Revice before it became everybody gets to be a Rider.
Don't stress over those bothered by these reissues for whatever reason because I'm glad these companies are starting to do it and more often now...the same with event exclusives. If there's still money to be made why not capitalize on it instead of having it go to the aftermarket. I don't mind the aftermarket at times when stuff is reasonably priced but let's be real for years now people have been outrageously pricing stuff and know darn well it's not gonna sell and if it does or did well good for them. Ebay has become ridiculous and will with overpriced listings. I'd rather see fans who either missed out due to not knowing of figuarts or imports, just got into Kamen Rider, and/or thinking overpaying is the only means get a fair chance to own these items because at the end of the day we're Collectors who enjoy Kamen Rider. |
Never purchased a figure off Amazon. Would this be safe to get or could there be a chance of this being a bootleg?

Like Talisman said it's being sold directly from the Tamashii Nations store and has other retail North American releases for sale such as Revi and Vice as well as other characters. I believe it's the revamped Bluefin page which merged with Tamashii awhile back.

Such is how things evolve.
Ghost had the primary, secondary and two main upgrades releases domestically and they didn't sell well. Build had the primary and first antagonist and the latter isn't very sought after nowadays. Zi-O had the primary, secondary and tertiary released domestically and they didn't exactly go flying either, despite still fetching retail plus nowadays for some of them. At this point Bandai already knows that P-Bandai releases target the line supporters and collectors specifically with made-to-order runs that won't sit on shelves long after their release. The upside is they tend to be easier to get a hold of depending on where you shop and if they get waves of preorders (Ex: Tokullectibles puts up a new P-Bandai listing, it sells out a little while after, they may reopen preorders a few days later when they secure more units). The downside is that if you miss the window, depending on the character or series it could become hard to track down for a reasonable price. (SS Eternal, Ultimate Kuuga, Hyper Kabuto, SHF Horobi and Valkyrie, etc.) |

I wouldn't hate PB/TW so much if they actually offered their service to Canadians.
In other news, I got all my Kuugas on their shelf, only to find it was a bit cramped and there was a nasty paint smudge on it: https://www.tokunation.com/forums/at...1&d=1660936278 So I swapped it out and now they look a lot more comfortable: https://www.tokunation.com/forums/at...1&d=1660936279 Sorry about the pic quality. :x |
Well, since we're talking about Seihou, it's worth noting that they get a little better off in retail than mainline SHF. To look at some more recent lines; OOO got Tatoba, Tajador and Ankh Arm while Kiva got Base Kiva and Dark Kiva. Much like mainline, though, retail releases tend towards the start of the line.
Also worth noting that just about everything revealed in the Preban Z stream is Premium Bandai exclusive, as the name might suggest. Black Sun is of course an exception, but that was clearly to shill for said series. I expect we'll see a similar Shin Kamen Rider stream in a few months |
