Aw man, after so much build up I really hope this is true. I'm sure the Radio Times wouldn't be reporting something like this unless there was something concrete behind it.

Did I miss something somewhere? Apparently it was (unofficially) found out earlier this year (according to reports) that Marco Polo had been received and was being restored by someone (possibly not the BBC)? Cripes, I'd like to see that one. The set pictures are gorgeous.

I hadn't heard that either, but there's so much flying around at the moment I have no idea what to believe.

Someone who apparently is 'in the know', as the kids used to say, is claiming on another forum that Marco Polo has definitely been found but is not in BBC hands yet (possibly the same issue is happening with Web of Fear 3). Only one more day until this alleged press conference. Cripes, it's all very exciting, isn't it? :D

BBC News - BBC to reveal a number of missing Doctor Who episodes

Yay, Lizo! While I can't begin to understand what's going on behind the scenes, I sort of feel the public relations aspect of this situation have been a bit bungled. (Also, if rumors are to be believed, I can't believe they sat on this for 2-3 years.)

That doesnt help me :lol I have to wait until they arrive on BBC America.

If they did sit on it for that long, I commend everyone involved's ability to keep a secret.

Not believing the rumours that 106 episodes have been found for a second though, especially since some have pointed out that it's technically impossible. Whatever we get out of this its worthy of massive celebration though :D

The rumour is they are heading to iTunes.

The most prevalent rumors I'm seeing at this point are that Enemy of the Word and Web of Fear (minus episode 3 - a recon in its place) will be released digitally this week. Enemy of the World will get a DVD release on the 22nd at the 50th convention and Web of Fear (with or without episode 3) will follow. The number I'm seeing is that 9 individual episodes will be revealed this week, it total. I've seen 19 and 89 bandied about rather a lot as the total number in play, though.

Apparently there are some issues with episode 3 being returned to the BBC. I haven't seen specifics on that. Worrisome for me is that insiders are reporting that Marco Polo, once apparently a sure lock for return and release, is now in jeopardy of disappearing into the ether again for some reason. I would find that utterly heartbreaking to be so close.

To be honest, I'm really quite interested in what shows other than Doctor Who that were believed lost forever have now been found.
