I don't if anyone else is a wrestling fan (this board doesn't seem to have an active wrestling thread, which is a little weird for a Costumed Fighting fandom) or watched Wrestlemania, but HOLY SHIT. The whole thing was a bit of a wash, more bad than good, but on Night 2 I got to see Bray Wyatt in metaphysical conflict with the concept of John Cena, and it blew my goddamn mind. Easily one of the most original, audacious things I've ever seen from a wrestling promotion. If Christopher Nolan and Charlie Kaufman booked a wrestling match, it'd probably play out like this one. If you want to see what can be done with wrestling narratives, track it down.

But the filmed segments were, I thought, the best parts. If the whole thing was going to be pretaped, I wish they'd been as innovative across the board. As it was, the Boneyard and Firefly Fun House matches were easily worth my time. And man, I hate Drew McIntyre so much. Him and Strowman, they're just the most boring wrestlers to me. |

Build, yeah, I think by the time you get to the third phase of the war, the third Touto Versus Someone arc, it can start to wear on you. Super clever show, though, with some great acting and writing. |
