Kakuranger episodes 28 and 29. Now that's some good toku. Jiraiya gets some good old back story and a great 100% unmorphed battle. Plus it's set in Gunman World. :p

PS The guy Jiraiya is fighting is the actor's real life father. That just makes it more awesome.

I'm watching more of Goseiger and these two things keep showing up in my head.

1:Is there a Zord for Gosei Green lying around collecting dust somewhere?

2:I miss the Exotic brothers.

I'm working on up a Gosei Green mecha actually. It irks me that some version of Shark wasn't remolded for him. No matter how briefly he existed, he did exist. Even more so than Deka Gold! :lol

And I actually found one of the elusive Exotic Headers finally. Green, which came with the first Ongaku CD.

Just started watching HS something or other's subs of DaiRanger tonight. Since I'm going to be watching S2 of MMPR in about a week and a half, I figured I might as well watch as much Dai as I can before I go to AX. So far I'm trying to figure out if they are using the DVDs are their raws or not. It seems a little off from my Region 2 DVDs, but it just could be that I haven't watched the DVDs in about two years. I do like that they have translated stuff Nihon did not, but I must admit I do not like seeing Ryusei-Oh's name translated. Not sure why, I just don't.

Translating the names of mecha always seemed pointless to me. Proper names for things are one sticking point I will always defend to be left as is.

I finished Battle Fever J today and the final 3 episodes make for a great payoff and ending for the show. It was an experience watching it but it's definitely worth it. Also it is my first completed Sentai too.


Also I watched the first episode of Flashman, I really enjoyed that I wish that it was fully subbed.

So guys what Sentai do you think I should watch next between: Gaoranger, Boukenger, Abaranger, Hurricanger, Magiranger, Bioman, Sun Vulcan, Goseiger, Shinkenger, Liveman, Maskman or Go-Onger?

Ohhhhhh tossup between Gaoranger, Boukenger, and Goseiger. 3 of my all time favorites! Probably Gaoranger if you want something that's a bit different and pretty serious. It's a great show.

I'd go with Goseiger. It's what I'm watching at the moment and I'm really enjoying it.

If you like older series I suggest BioMan, it's pretty awful honestly but in that glorious cardboard tokyo rubber suit balls to the wall style shittiness that I just love.

Okay i love how the narrator for Gosei Knights attacks sounds like some 4Kids actor doing it.

AbaRanger as that is not even a contest, it is a masacre out of your choices. OKay, that is not fair as both Maskman and Liveman are excellent shows, but compared to Aba, nope. The rest on your list vary from not bad to utter crap, with Goseiger and Go-Onger being the worst of those.

I feel like I watched a different show when everyone calls Goseiger one of the bottom series.

Same here man. I never understand it either. Maybe we're just more forgiving or something? It's just such a fun show that I can't help but love it.

I didn't even intend on being forgiving towards it. I explicitly told Sentai I'd rip it a new one if I found it lacking.
I guess there was something I enjoyed that everyone else hated...

I can kind of see why people don't like Goseiger but so far to me it's just been a fun series.

I've tried watching the show twice. THe first time it aired I made it to episode 8. I then decided to give it another shot earlier this year and made it to 6. I just cannot get into it no matter how I try. I don't care for the mecha. I don't like the ranger cast or the kid and his father. I just don't find the plot all that interesting.

But you're basing that on 6-8 episodes man. That's hardly enough to form an opinion about an entire 50 episode + 3 movie series. The show is good but slow to start and get's way better once the 2nd arc begins.

When you see Gosei knight's zord standing next to the Goseigers it looks so damn fake it's hilarious. I know Japan's CG isn't that good but i can't help but laugh. XD

I thought Goseiger was fine. It felt really basic, even for a Sentai show, but it wasn't necessarily bad. It could be the fact that it followed and was followed by two of the most popular Sentai seasons in recent history, or maybe people expected a little more of a theme-based season.

I actually thought it got worse when GoseiKnight showed up. I stopped watching about 3-4 episodes after his debut.

Aside from his astonishingly whiplash inducing appearance, I liked GoseiKnight.
He had the environmental terrorist thing going on while not sounding ridiculous.

Maybe it was my overall disappointment with Shinkenger that drove me to care more for Goseiger. I know it's pretty beloved, but damn that show was boring.

I still fail to see why Shinkenger is regarded as beloved.
I hate Gokaiger, but I can see the appeal. Not so much for Shinkenger's case.

And no, I'm not ripping on Shinkenger or it's fans. I just failed to see where the mass appeal came from beyond the Origami (Which lost their appeal when every upgrade was a stupid ass helmet).

Go-Onger.

In my opinion the only thing Shinkenger has going for it is the theme music.

Your point? If I cannot even make it to my usual 10 episodes, that is a bad sign. Why should I sit there for 4 hours when just getting through half that feels like a chore? I figured marathoning the series would work better for me, as that is how I was able to get through Go-Buster, but I cannot. I tried and my brain cannot focus on Goseiger. Each episode feels like it is an hour long and I want to do something else. The only thing worse than Goseiger to me is Dynaman, which I made it up to episode 3 and then called it quits. Except for those two series, I have been able to watch every series from start to finish.

Honestly, I don't hate Shinkenger, but I don't think it is as great as people make it out to be. The first 12 episodes were fantastic, but it seemed to lose something after the first Juuzo fight. The mecha just kept piling on. Genta was down right annoying (like Shunpei from Wizard annoying) and is what I consider to be the worst sixth ranger ever. He was not ranger material, at least for being the sixth. And there seemed to be no plot movement at all from episode 15-40. I found the villains to be one dimensional, especially Dokoku, who did nothing but be drunk for most of the series. The only thing I found to be truly intriguing outside of Juuzo was the Kagemusha sub-plot, but by the time they did it, the series had lost me. It should have been done in the 30s NOT the 40s. It isn't a terrible series, but there was a lot of potential wasted.

Oh yeah, and the origami was some of the worst mecha concepts ever.

The appeal for me with Shinkenger is how much it felt like a live action anime. It was just so very Japanese but so very Japanese in a sort of how Western people think Japan is by watching lots of anime and I just found it awesome. I wish more shows would include a villain like Juzo.

That said I thought the show plummeted in terms of quality when ShinkenGold appeared who has to be one of the worst sixth Rangers ever. It also didn't help that it was slooooow, another great example of a fifty episode series that probably could have been like a 12 episode miniseries and worked considerably better.

I'll still never understand this argument, if someone isn't enjoying something how much do you really expect them to sit through? Who forces themselves to like something? Sure Kamen Rider OOO for example didn't get good in my opinion until about twenty episodes in but if someone watched the first episode and said how bland it was, which it was, I wouldn't tell them that they need to watch 20 episodes to make up their mind just that I personally didn't enjoy it until twenty episodes in. I just don't get this expectation on the internet that you have to watch the whole of a series you aren't enjoying...to not enjoy it.

So I'm still making up my mind on the Sentai however it looks like it is between, Abaranger, Bioman, Gaoranger, and Goseiger. I'm thinking about Liveman and Boukenger too.

BioMan's my favourite of those but then I'm big fan of the gloriously bad old sentai. Boukenger is apparently some of super sentais finest as well although I've only seen a handful of episodes.

Ah I did really enjoy BioMan from what I've seen of it. I am in the mood for something newer after BFJ. So any newer one is good.

Maybe you should go for Boukenger then!

Well I watched some of Boukenger and liked it. However I skipped to Bouken Silver so I'm sure to watch episodes 2-16 or just continue on.
