You do realize that even though Brajira acted similar to...fuck it I'm using the PR name, Captian Mutiny, it was never clear he was the true final boss. He always was just working with the factions as a subordinate. A string-puller but still subordinate to the boss he was under. Drake, Makuin, Robogog, he served under them because they served to further his plans of "make the planet Earth my bitch."

Mutiny's Crew were trying to just power up their ship. Yeah they'd lay waste to all who stood against them once powered, but they were pirates.

Alata's first scene out of suit had him saving a baby carriage falling down stairs. None of the initial 5 Gingamen were related, BullBlack isn't a robotic Captain Planet, GingaiOh didn't swap heads with other mecha.

Gekiranger was not "cat themed." It was broadly animal themes with a Wuxia twist. Yes GekiTouja was three cats, but there was an Elephant, Bat, Shark, Wolf, Rhinoceros, Gorilla, Penguin on a Flying Skateboard, Gazelle and even a Chameleon if you count the RinBeasts. Cats weren't the be all, end all of the show.

Do you even watch ANY of these shows? Or do you briefly skim a Wiki and then act like you have a worthwhile opinion on Super Sentai as a whole? Because you don't, your questions are all obscenely shallow and show a clear lack of understanding on the show. It's like if I asked Dr. Who fans "what if the doctor used an assault rifle?" or Gundam fans "what if we had another show like unicorn?" because NEITHER of those questions show a level of understanding on what you are talking about. I don't know what Gundam Unicorn was about, but I'm not going to ask if we should have a copy/paste of it. And I know enough about Dr. Who to know he's never going to unload a L85A2 on the Cybermen.

haven't been a member of the board long enough...when do we usually start hearing about next year's Super Sentai show and theme?

The rumours usually kick off around November, and we usually have confirmation around January, if I'm remembering correctly.
Edit: After looking it up, December looks more like the time when we start getting pics and reveals, with the full details coming in January.

Catalog pictures usually come out on the first Thursday of December while we get the first flyer featuring the cast in costume on New Years eve. Last year was a little different in that we got the Ninninger stuff on Christmas.

What is your criticism toward Zyuohger?

My criticism for Zyuohger that their villains are weaker point for Zyuohger.

I'm like of how this Red Ranger is NOT ANNOYING OR SCREAM FOR NO REASON but I felt their villain are like MCU Villains-type.

Zyuohger have Marvel Villains Problems-type! That's just my opinion about their villains

My complaints are basically the same as yours (at least they have cool designs :p). Zyuohger is good for the most part (still, those animal people during the ending dance are so cheap looking and the suits and mechas are still bad...)

So, unless I decide to pull the trigger on the Dairanger DVDs, my next Sentai season will either be Abaranger or Gingaman. Which do you suggest?

Characters are alright.
The suits are alright too after seeing them in action.

They're both really good shows so I don't think you can go wrong with either. Though I'd probably give it to Abaranger if only because the characters there are a bit more fleshed out.

To be completely honest, it's mostly Abarekiller that makes me want to watch the series.

Abarekiller is introduced in episode 17 or 18. I'm currently around episode 33 or 34, and, uh, he's still a bad guy. He's a far better execution of an "evil ranger" than Dragonranger or even Zyuoh The World, because Abarekiller is more believably evil for a much longer period. And he clashes with Abaranger's tone, which is VERY silly. If it weren't for Go-Onger it would probably be the goofiest Sentai of 2000-09.

Yeah, I like the idea of a ranger that stays evil for as long as he does.

To be fair though, Dragonranger came first, so they already had the foundation to build upon for Abarekiller. I kind of get the feeling that Abarekiller is them taking Dragonranger's evil aspects to the next level. I haven't gotten to Zyuoh The World yet, but I was disappointed to hear that he doesn't stay antagonistic for all that long.

Nah Magiranger takes the cake for goofiest sentai of the 2000's. Go-Onger's goofy but not stupid goofy.

Epsilon, I'd recommend Gingaman. Even if Aba's a great show Gingaman arguably has the best story, some of the best arcs, scenery and score ever, it's a fantastic show that is INSANELY creative.

Lol, Magiranger was goofy ? Following this logic, every Sentai which aren't super dark are goofy. Magiranger was light hearted, but definitly not goofy. And disliking a show doesn't make it stupid...

So Magiranger had a similar tone to shows like Jetman, Megaranger, Dekaranger, Boukenger and Gekiranger? Examples of Sentai that weren't super dark?

But a show with a talking plant for a mentor and rangers who don't act like they have a brain isn't goofy, okay. It's arguably one of the most goofiest sentai I've seen period.

OMG a talking plant in my show where people fight against plastic monster in colored spandex ! It's so goofy ! Talking plants/animals/whatever are pretty much in every stories with magic elements. What's next ? The show'is goofy because they have magic powers ?

And i don't see how it's more "goofy" than a show whith giant talking cars with big eyes, a team where even the serious characters end up as comedic relief against ennemies who are comedic relief as well...

it's not different than Megaranger or Dekaranger in terms of team. Two members of the team are the "dumb ones" (Kai-Houka/Kenta-Miku/Ban-Umeko) while the others are more serious...

It's also what we make out of these shows too. One may find a show way goofier than another. I just found Magi to be incredibly goofy the way it presented itself and what direction the show wanted to go into. I'm not going further cause this isn't going to get anywhere.

You said the Magiranger act like have they have no brains, except just like in pretty every Sentai of that era, there's only two "dumb" characters. It's not different than Megaranger or Dekaranger, two show that you mentionned in your post. And i don't see how a talking plant is more goofy than a bunch of talking cars with big eyes coming from another dimension, especially when it make sense in Magiranger. You found a lot of talking fings in magical story. Not a lot of talking cars in a story about car.

Makito and Tsubasa as well were kind of "brainless", Makito had his moments here and there but he was a big goof as well(I'm not going to get on his case because I liked him), and on paper Tsubasa was fine but his actor portrayed him such that he felt pretty lifeless.

And even if Kenta, Miku, Ban and Umeko acted pretty immature at times, in their series they actually felt like they grew and rounded out from their initial dumb personalities. We see that Megaranger helps Kenta and Miku become more focused and better students, Ban literally goes from a teambuilding killer to one who brings the team together in a tough time(SWAT episodes), and we see Umeko's actual intelligence help out in situations through out the show(the dream episode), more individual personality quirks between these "dumb" characters are brought out as the show goes on. Kai and Houka, for me at least kind of stayed like idiots through out; Kai didn't do anything for me to think that he was capable as a Red(I think he would've been better off as Green or Yellow to be honest) plus he was pretty annoying and they decided they wanted to develop on the "cute" aspects of Houka instead of how she impacts and helps people(as shown in the wedding episode).

And for my feelings on Magi being more goofy than Go-On, it's also a lot of what I observed in both shows. Go-On's concept is "weirder" than Magi's and both are goofy, but Go-On seems to go more with the flow and is more "self-aware", like Abaranger, another goofy show that knows how to work itself. Magi I felt tried too hard to mix on the epic tone and the comedic tone, which didn't do much for me and it felt jumbled.

Listen, I think this has gotten pretty off topic so I think it's better if we just leave it as is and believe in what ever points we believe in the show.

I think Big One is Tommy equivalent of Super Sentai because he is the most popular Sentai character to the point he even overshadowed Red Ranger who was supposed to be MAIN PROTAGONIST!

No. He really isn't. Not remotely comparable.

While there isn't anyone comparable to Tommy due to Sentai having a revolving cast since the start, Big One does have his fair share of appearances, often as a leader of Sentai as a whole, overtook the original leader of JAKQ and relegated him to second in command, and is quite popular.

There isn't a 1 for 1 with Tommy, but Big One is really the closest comparison.

The PR Wikia would seem to agree. They note comparisons between the two, and it is understandable when you get right down to it. It is hard to rank the whole thing but if I was taking a quick guess of other candidates synonymous with Sentai who also stand-out besides Big One:
