Currently watching Tekkaman Blade 2"
Only saw the first three episodes and when I do have time I'll watch the last three as well. It's enjoyable, but the dub's a little clunky at times. |
Man Inazuma Eleven is such a weird series
I haven't tried watching it myself, just a few random clips from the series and the team up movie with Danball Senki. It's like….Saint Seiya meets Dragon Ball Z on a soccer field... |
Quote:
How did that team up even work? Makes as much sense as Medabots X Captain Tsubasa. |
Watching Ikki Iousen: Great Guardians at the moment. *Jumps into bunker before taking flak from Anti-Fan Service people* Tell me when it's safe. @_@;

Please tell me there isn't a LBX that transforms into a Soccer ball. |

And I just want to say that I actually like Danball Senki…if it weren't for the fact that those characters were in it, I probably wouldn't give a damn about the movie. I do suggest people give Danball Senki a try. It's a little medabots, but the action direction is pretty great for a Shounen show, they do a great job of making the fights seem pretty balanced even when the main characters are involved. I really should get around to finishing WARS now that's ended. |

I've seen little of Danball Senki, but what I've seen I liked, it seems like a very fun show. |

The model kits are pretty fun to build. They're like gundams but unlike Gundam you don't need any special tools: you can push them off the sprue they come in and be done with them in an evening. Kinda hoping they bring the model kits too when it happens. |
I just watched the new DBZ movie, Battle of Gods. The movie itself takes place four years after the end of the show and is the only movie to be considered canon, with original creator Akira Toriyama deeply involved.
Remember Dragon Ball Z? The terrible pace, the awful animation and the incredible violence? Ah, those were the days. And luckily the movie is extremely nostalgic as it suffers from exactly the same problems! Despite involving a God of Destruction (voiced by the wonderful Koichi Yamadera) the movie is slow even at under 90 minutes in length, with most of the Z-Fighters reduced to near cameos in their movie. And even when the movie does finally focus on some semblance of a story, it's so convoluted it's basically pure nonsense. Despite twenty years of technological advancements, the HD exposes that the animation here really isn't much better than what we got in the show. And most of the time what we got in the show was awful. Sadly, the most violent nail in the coffin, is that the action sucks. At one point, at the highest point of excitement, Goku gets his first post Super Saiyan Three completely canon form, The Super Saiyan God. With this new found power he can take on The God of Destruction who has, up to this point, been defeating the Z-Fighters with a single finger, and given the title of the flick, I rubbed my hands together in eagerness. And then the fight was over. Yep. Goku lost, The God of Destruction went home and that was it. Minus a fun little whiz around a few buildings the 'Battle of Gods' was utterly pathetic, and especially so given the kind of action this show is known for. It's a shame as well, as Lord Bills, is as quirky and hilarious as he is utterly badass as our God of Destruction, what a waste |

I know! We saw a few models in a toy fair and then nothing at all, if handled well it could become a big hit on the USA. I only have Perseus, but yeah the kits are great, and it would be awesome for them to get an international release. |

I've only seen the Bills VS Goku fight online. I dig Bills as a villain in that he's not the typical Dragon Ball villain. He has a sophistication that I like about him. That being said though…Toriyama sure knows how to throw his continuity out of whack because SSJ4 seems reaaaaaal pointless now. |
Bills was awesome.
Super Saiyan Four is non canon, as the whole of GT was never adapted from the original manga. So thankfully you can just write that whole pile of shit off. |

Well I caught episode 2 of Wizard Barristers and…I did not expect a giant robot to show up in this series.
It suddenly gets all Pacific Rim half way through the episode: http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/3116/95ua.png It does get a little fan servicy at times but I really enjoyed the first two episodes overall. |
Ok nearly finished watching season 1 of the wirld god only know I can related to main character in a few ways
|
Episode 3 of Buddy Complex.
Eeeeeeeh? It sure is a thing. I don't hate it but so far it doesn't really do anything to wow me either. It seems like a generic Sunrise mecha anime that's trying way to hard. The whole time travel aspect is interesting…so I'll keep up with it and see what the pay off for that is gonna be but I'm not expecting a whole lot. |
Since I'm mostly caught up on all the anime episodes I've missed these past few weeks, I decided to start with some of the new shows this season.
The first episode of D-Frag was kinda slow at first but the second half was a riot, especially once they started to talk about elemental attacks and the like. :lol So I'm sure I'll enjoy the show. Z/X Ignition is based on card game, yet it's not a card game anime, and I wanted a card game anime, anyways the story is weird to say the least, it takes palce after monsters from another dimension started to invade the world and caused compelte destruction all over the world... except for the fact that everything is actuallly ok and basically rendered that introduction pointless. I doubt I'll watch any more. Still gotta check Nobunaga the fool, Noragami and maybe Pupa. |
Finished Tekkaman Blade II.
In closing it's a good series and it's held up rather well given its age. It does need a new English dub. |
Ok I am watch kigurumikku v3 and if that not a big hint it full refferance v3 rider in the in style if music and the way the main heroine calls out V3 as well
|
Aw man, this week's Samurai Flamenco was awesome. The loving tributes to tokusatsu really shine through. Plus there was yet another twist :lol

After 5 episodes, I had to drop Heartcatch PreCure.
If, like everyone claims, this is far and away the best the PreCure franchise has to offer, the show is not for me. Sure, it was beautifully animated and well designed, but damn, this shit is way too precious... It's not because I don't like the genre. Sailor Moon is one of my favorite things in existence. This show takes the SM format, rips out the lovable characters and complex bad guys, throws in some wretched product placement, and screams its content into the audience's face at the most ear-piercing audio frequency humans have yet devised. Seriously, listening to this show was like listening to a car alarm go off in my living room for 22 minutes straight. DARPA should watch this show as research for their audio-based crowd-dispersing weapons. I know it's weird for a Kamen Rider and Sentai obsessive to complain about obvious toy advertisement in a show -- but it is unbelievably awful here. But the worst part? Every victim-of-the week is allowed to have one emotion: depression. From the episodes I watched, they're all sad-ass crybabies, and the result in a total of zero-out-of-5 sympathetic victims. I wanted to slap them all and tell them to stop being so self-obsessed. Sorry if I'm harsh, but this show was just not for me on almost every level. |

It's a shame you're giving it up so soon though, it really does have some of the best character development and I found them to be so much more relatable than the typical clumsy/lazy/likes to eat archtypes you see in things like Sailor Moon. |
Yeeeaaah, I dunno what toy product placement you saw, but I don't really remember any in HeartCatch. Any new items they introduced, which yes got toys, were done in ways that made sense and were handled as an in-show item first, toy advertisement last.
I agree on how relatable the characters can be. What characteristics that could be used as standard tropes are instead treated more like obstacles that they or others try to overcome or come to terms with. |

Considering I don't usually watch anime (ironic, considering my former go-to username was AnimeGamer89), I think it's surprising that I'm posting here. :lol
Nevertheless, due to ZeoRangerV and a few others' influences, I decided to give K-On! a try and it's great! It really is like My Little Pony in how it's a slice of life show, featuring everyday scenarios and the funny interactions that come out of them. One thing I appreciate a lot about the show is the low levels of fanservice. The only episode remotely fanservice-y is the beach episode (Episode 4) and even then, I guess it's not more ubiquitous than say, some of the more adult-friendly American kids' cartoons. Hopefully it doesn't go further than that. :) |
Finished Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians, now I'm watching Okamisan and her Seven Companions. After that, I'll watch these new episodes of Fairy Tail that just came out.

Is K-On really the cleanest one out there? It's not exactly spotless, either. |
