Decided I'm no longer buying cases of So-Do when Geats starts. My backlog is getting ridiculous, and I've got like no motivation to sticker all the half-identical Revi and Vice forms or the Saber post series stuff. I think for Geats I'll just pick up base forms and power up forms off Mandarake instead of pre-ordering complete cases.

Hoping they'll make the base form repack wave a normal thing going forward to help with such things.

That's definitely been a big help. Even if it keeps to just 6, that would still be enough to match the usual starting casts looking at 01 and Saber (RIP Calibur though)

Seems because Faiz has very few in-show Rider suits (this is literally half of them), the way they're going to be doing this is by doing a bunch of complementary accessory boxes. No complaints here! I maybe should have seen it coming given the sheer amount of gear each Rider has and then the sheer amount of different configurations and combinations. Like, to give an idea; the Kaixa accessory box has the empty belt; the belt without the mission memory; the belt tilted up slightly for Exceed Charge... I can kinda see why they went this route!

Yes; Ultimate Revice was confirmed for Wave 10. There's actually a lot of things for Revice to cover, though:-

- Over Demons
- Aguilera
- Aguilera's TTFC form
- Demons Trooper Alpha
- Demons Trooper Beta
- Chimera
- Daimon
- [Revice's movie form]
- Century Berserk

... and a LOT of weapons for Demons, Jeanne, Aguilera and Destream. The SO-DO blog I believe said there's 3 characters left in the wave which would presumably mean 2 accessory boxes so I assume that we'll see almost all of those covered in Wave 9. Will be VERY surprised meanwhile if Over Demons and Aguilera aren't in this wave too.

There's also, arguably, still a slight bit of Saber catchup they could do: Saber's Ghost form, Blades' Specter form and the stageshow-exclusive Tassel Dark. I woudn't be too surprised if these weren't covered but SO-DO is that kind of comprehensive line. There's ALSO monster forms to consider; in particular Vail's usual form seems a shoe-in given the Vice mold is right there

Man, I got he Shodo-X box and the QC on these guys is pretty damn scattershot. Black has pink eye, guess Shadow Moon farted on his pillow. Mighty Kuuga has an improperly painted eye, and Rising Mighty is just sloppy all over. Both Zero One's are okay. I also wish the shoulder pads were done differently.

Otherwise they're pretty sweet. The only Shodo I ever got before was Evol who is cool. These remind me of Motion Revive only with better sculpts and more expensive. I'm debating what to do with the duplicates. Part of me wants to open them to see if I can get better paint on RX and Kuuga.

That's a bummer to hear about the QC, but does line up with my general experience with pre-painted candy toys, especially the Converge line.

I actually like the Shodo shoulders. They kinda suck for certain poses, but it matches the show suit very well and gives the figure a more seamless look, even compared to SHF.

As for the extras, I think some people around here were looking to pick them up if you post them for sale.

I have noticed sloppy paint on SHODO figures before and it's definitely unfortunate -- I can forgive it a little though when these things are like 600 yen a pop. Very easy to recommend toyline

Oh yeah, for their price it's fine. I was more surprised that I got so many issues at once. I've already fixed Black's eyes and Kuuga's is actually minor enough I don't really notice.

I only wish I had a gold paint that matched the shape on Kuuga. Anyone have ideas?

That uh... does not look good. I suppose I could sharpen the stinger myself, but I never noticed how much it looks like a clown nose.

Maybe one of the biggest victims yet of For Safety Reasons. She also doesn't come with her kunai :(

It's actually looking like it'll be this wave -- last week's SO-DO blog they said there were 3 more characters in the wave for a total of 6. So it looks like we'll probably get two accessory packs here

Aguilera looks fine to me. I mean, it's the ages 3 and up line, that stinger was always going to be rounded off. If YU-DO had made all of Kyuranger, yellow would've probably looked like this to.

What I'm hoping for is one of the other figures to be Over Demons and the accessory packs to be a mix of Aguilera's weapons (including the repaint of Kiwi chakrams she hasn't used yet), Deathstream's power ups, and finish up Demons/Over Demons' power ups. And if Jeanne's new form is in the wave, finish out her weapons to.

Also, I'm hoping for a new kunai mold. The Gaim ones might be to small for the 3 and up line, but more importantly, they are undersized for Gaim to. Make them a bit bigger and maybe add the handles with the ring to.

Why? Because the toys don't include them. Many of Bandai's 15 and up candy toys have moved the instructions online. It makes since for many of them. Shodo and Chodo all go together the same way. G-Frame is more involved, but put one together and they're mostly the same from there. However, none of those lines have stickers and that seems like poor choice not to include sticker instructions.

That said, take a look at those new instructions, they are quite nice. Big and very clear with pictures of the toys themselves in color. Even has color coded directions with them being named in English (nothing else is in English, but still). Very nice.

Hey this is a shot in the dark, but does anyone have the instructions for sodo new den-o? I got all of the zeronos-s stickered but lost the sheet at somepoint.

Couple of neat things about SO-DO Kabuto.

Kabuto and Gatack both have a mid Cast Off mode by opening armor parts slightly. It's a neat thing they didn't need to include.

Kabuto is SUCH a perfect fit for the SO-DO line and this sort of thing shows exactly why. This is kind of awesome! Now I actually really hope we get a preban set of the movie randos... throw in their COR-exclusive Masked Forms and that'd be really something

These pages don't tell the case size, so either this wave is reduced to a case of 10 or there's duplicates to fill the space left by Ultimate Revi and Vice.

I was expecting at least the rest of Demons power ups and more Jeanne weapons. I'm still not sure if we're getting a By10 either because normally the new SO-DO line starts in October. It's all a mess right now, that's for sure.

I think we'll still see some of those Demons/Jeanne weapons as extra accessories not yet revealed in By9 boxes

Every time I think I'm done painting SO-DO Kabuto, Gatack, and TheBee, I find something else to paint. So in the meantime, I'll take this chance to talk a bit about Shodo-XX.

In general, there's a lot of improvements. waist joints that function quite well along with the mid torso joint. Somehow still has the drop down hips. They picked a great line up to introduce the toe joint as characters like Kuuga do have well known poses that use the toes. The shoulder pads continue to be a weak point, but they are on the better side. In fact, most don't seem to notice that XX have butterfly joints in the shoulders because the shoulder pads reduces the use of those. Said joints are still appreciated though. My set doesn't have any major issues. Like one eye of a figure has a scuff on it and that's the worst of it. What's odd about this wave is that I have older figures of all of them, so let's compare.

Black and Black RX are leaps for me because I never got the Shodo-X versions. If I have one complaint about Shodo Black figures is they've made this character 3 times now and they still only paint the front of his wrist and ankle bands. That aside, all the positives I mentioned above are true here. I quite like the new hands to.

This is the biggest leap. Better everything. The shoulder are still a bit limited, but no where near as badly as the VS. Of course, the VS Black RX was one of the weakest VS figures with ugly hips, wrong elbows, etc. I do wish that XX Black RX still painted the back, but that's about it.

XX Kuuga is shiny. Me like. They both have about the same amount of paint out of the box, my VS just has more because of me. The difference is what's painted and what kind of paint they used. The metallic red is oh so good. The back of the belt isn't painted, but the much harder to paint myself ankle bands are painted, so great trade off imo.

Look at that toe joint! It's so good! Pretty much what XX did to Mighty applies to Rising Mighty. This is great, but also the less said about SO-DO Chronicle Kuuga, the better.

I will take XX Zero-One's shoulder pads over the SO-DO any day. Almost lost one just taking this picture. Nothing wrong with the SO-DO, the Shodo just has hindsight on its side. The molded suit texture is quite nice.

Metal Cluster Hopper's shoulder pads do not feel good. There's little spikes that get in the way and are warping. Other than that, he's just as great as Rising Hopper. The handles for the Hopper Blade have very thick paint on them. I had to take a file to them to get them to peg in.I wish I had an unused set of Hopper Blade SO-DO stickers because I think they might fit this and it would make it look cooler. Also, on both of the Zero-Ones, the black circles around the eyes make them pop so much more than the SO-DO eyes ever did.

Anyways, I've rambled enough. Bottom line is XX does a lot right in my book, but there's still times I wish they did more.

From the press conference, we learned the shield and bowgun are repaints of the Shield Module and Zamona's weapon (from the Zi-O movie) respectively

Edit: Blog also confirmed that By9 will only include those previously announced 10 boxes. Juuga will be part of the as of now unnamed Geats line presumably
