They are! In my case I find that show terribly boring :lol

But hey to each their own. I also absolutely hated Reconguista and there are apparently a handful of true diehard fans of that show.

Thunderbolt on the other hand is a treasure.

Meh… couldn’t bother with Thunderbolt beyond episode 1, terrible art-style and god awful, unfitting music.

Guess it’s an artistic vision that I can’t enjoy, but I liked Iron Blooded Orphans a lot more.

I heard there's a dub and new footage. So it'll defintley be worth it.

1 Thunderbolt is a series of 20 minute OVAs having been released since December, with the final part, part 4, having just come out. It takes place during the end of the One Year War, and focuses on the conflict of Federation and Zeon over a supply route in the Thunderbolt sector, basically the wreckage of Side 4 with some weird plot convienent lightning.

2 I think IBO is okay to good. The first 5 episodes to me were really great, and a few episodes after that were good. Episode 24 was the best episode of the show, promptly ruined by 25. Its character development is good, but some of the stuff took way too long then it should have. And the action scenes were few and far between. I appreciate the people working on the show feeling liks they have to shove fights in every once in awhile just because, but it defintley felt missing.

I wouldn't call Thunderbolt a treasure but it's good. Hopefully the new Blu-ray can add enough footage to fix my two major problems with the show, the absurdly fast pace and cut out backstory from the manga. Thunderbolt's stuff about Side 4 is really a good expansion of Gundam lore, and from what I've seen prior to episode 4, stuff about Moore's wealth and loyalty to the Federation haven't been mentioned.

Thunderbolt's art is better if you see the similarity to Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure lol. As fod the music, I don't see how its bad. There was the intial teaser trailer with the awful blaring, but other than that, I find it fine.

G Gundam is getting a blu-ray release in Japan. I hope the US gets it release soon.

I know, but I was curious as to what Den-O didn't like about it since everyone else has said it is the best Gundam series since 00 and was amazing.

BTW, Reconquista G sucked. I couldn't even get through two episodes.

According to Rightstuf from several months back, they have to wait 18 months from the time a Gundam series is released on BD in Japan before they can bring it out in the US.

Is Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin a direct remake of the original or does have several differences between the two?

Well the comic is a sort of re-telling on the original, it providing more detailed artwork and a bit more character focus. The OVA is based on a large chunk of the comic which focuses on how Char and Sayla were brought up and Char's involvement with Zeon before the original show starts.

The Origin manga is a remake of the Original Gundam show. Mainly rearranging certain events and expanding minor characters. But within it, there was a backstory on Char and Sayla before the One Year War.

The Origin OVA is the backstory portion of the manga animated.
