Reissues are healthy and necessary. New collectors or people who had financial issues shouldn't be forced to pay high aftermarket prices for something they want just because they couldn't get it the first time around. Toy companies can get more money from an already designed product to get funds for new things. I understand the usual "Another reissue? I want to see something new!"-complaints to some extend, but speaking of abuse in this context is just weird. |

But if you really feel compelled to buy every stocked item including re-issues because that's your idea of collecting, then it's still your money and that's your preoragative. If you want to post about how re-issues are a bad thing specifically to you, well it's a free forum and nobody can stop you. But it should be still pretty easy to understand why nobody else would relate, and why they would instead encourage you to not do be doing that. |
I don't get how a - very occasional - rerelease hurts you as a collector. You seem to feel compelled to buy one of every discrete release, but if that's the problem then you can't reasonably expect Bandai to base their corporate decisions on it.
And why does it being a cash-grab matter if complaining about cost is bad? |
Most of the reissues Bandai's been doing in SHF have also been of releases that proved initially popular and could be considered "essential" for collectors. Kuuga. Decade. Wizard. W. Gomora. Ginga. Zetton. Belial. Shin Ultraman. etc. Figures that fetched a hefty sum beforehand on the aftermarket that are now more affordable on both fronts.
Acting like it's a slap in the face to give new fans and collectors a chance at older releases that have become hard to find or afford is the definition of pretentious. If you feel the need to collect literally every release in a toyline, that's on you and is a you problem. Not the company and not the rest of the collector space. |
In the case of most of the Ultra ones, too, it shouldn’t even count for your complaints since they’re direct re-runs rather than something that counts as a ‘new’ release like 50th Kuuga, Fuuto PI W etc
|
So, I'm going for a full Shin Japan Heroes Universe display; but much as I love the look of it and I'm sure I'll love the movie itself and I do think the pricepoint is justified... Monsterarts Shin Godzilla is just way out of my budget, which is even before the hefty shipping he'd naturally include and how he sold out instantly and would be even more expensive on the aftermarket.
So! I'm instead going for the Neca version since I can actually get that in-country and it's of course a fraction of the cost. Does anyone have Neca Shin Godzilla and could do a comparison with any Figuarts? Just curious to see how the size ends up |
Oh the neca shin godzilla, lol. I have heard so many bad things about that one. I guess if you have to get a Shin Godzilla and don?t want the SHM, go ahead if you can get it for less than $30. The tail and mouth are gonna be real bad compared to the SHM.
To say something positive, you will get a beautiful box with it. If you buy the one with the poster coverart. Our boy shin godzilla is a big disgusting looking freak. A big wet sloppy mess. No figure will be perfect, I guess is what I am saying. Personally, I would not waste my time with a Neca one, though. Maybe try holding out for a super7 one in, like, 2025 or something. Be careful looking at youtube reviews for Shin Godzilla, the youtubers love to yell and scream when talking about that figure. Edit: don’t get the playmates shin godzilla, lol! |
Oh man. I am a freak encyclopedia about youtube videos for kaiju figures.
Here’s a comparison https://youtu.be/pxKkxEDQgvU This guy might start yelling, though. Be careful. |

Wait! I don?t know how to read. The question was a size comparison between neca and shf, and I am here sharing a comparison between Neca and SHM, oh man. All my comments are just off topic here.
I don?t have the Neca shin, but I have a Neca KotM figure. Hope this helps. It should not be that different. I have the SHM shin, shf kamen rider figure, Neca godzilla, and shf ultraman all lined up |
I couldn't find anything that seems particularly wrong with it? It's not anywhere near SHMA quality, obviously, but there didn't seem to be any big outstanding flaws for what it is
|

From what I can see the only big tradeoff is going to be the tail. The Neca tail is a little bit pathetic compared to the SHM tail. It?s ok for me to call it pathetic, I am pathetic too. Pour one out for Neca, they were some real ones doing quality work. |
Yeah, the tail is maybe the big letdown; but I'm okay with it given the type of line it is. Also wish the mouth could open a bit more to truly get across how freakish Shin Goji is but it is what it is!
|
Also for the SHM rerelease. They are doing that nighttime attack mode. We all remember that scene. Our boy barfed out a bunch of smoke and then blasted off a bunch of beams from all over. Some choir kids sang. It was a mood!
SHM is not including any beams or smoke or anything with that repainted re-release. It’s like when they re-released the GMK Godzilla with a special “I’m going to fire a beam” paintjob, and they did not include a beam. I’m getting Neca*-pilled over here. EDIT: apparently I was describing this figure which SHM already released https://www.shma-articulationseries....#g16awaken-top big time oops from me. SHM is just doing the godzilla from the bit before that happened. I will leave the comment to preserve my L here. *Full disclosure: I ordered the SHM Night Combat Shin Godzilla Version. I am a fraud. |
Anyone have any hopes for future Donbrothers SHF?
Don Doragoku seems too complex (multiple base form changes) and also not that important. I could see them skipping the usual sixth ranger release this time. I want an Onisister SHF, but I wonder if they would really just do a normal member of the team without committing to doing all of them. If I had to guess, I think we might have a good shot of getting Sonoi as an SHF. He has the vibe of being an outsider, like a sixth. He is a leader, so he is like a red. He has that whole thing going on with Don Momo - the fanfiction crowd will buy it! I would be happy with any continuation of the Donbrothers line though. |

Wild guess, maybe Don Murasame? Reusing parts and all. |
I did wake up the other day with “Inubro and Kijibro Great Value Pack” carved into my forearm, so that could be a possibility too.
Murasame would be an excellent choice as that is just a beautiful suit. That character is so inconsequential and for a while only seemed to exist to fight momotani at the end of each episode to advertise a new toy catalogue item. But I love Murasame, and I would yell at anyone who tried to get rid of him! Maybe Bandai could announce Stacaesar and Murasame together at the tamashii nations event. |
Torabolt wouldn’t be complicated; just a new chest armour and head. Shoulders might cause some bother but it’d be a preban item anyway. Dragoku would 100% be feasible

Yeah, they've been doing it for a while now. They even done goddamn OOO Combo Changes. And Dragoku/Torabolt is about as standard and simple as form changes come

I hope my previous comments did not make it seem like I dislike the Don Doragoku character. I think he is great! There just does not seem to be much time for him on the show, and therefore, maybe he would not be a focus for the figure line. I?ll be happy with anything from Donbrothers, even a miho/natsume figuart in the style of that terrifying Hana from Den-O SHF. |
I'm not watching the show, but I have heard that he's ironically one of the least important and popular characters -- Sonoi and Onisister definitely feel like better picks
|
Compared to Twokaiser I'll admit I'm not as much of a fan of Don Doragoku in both character and suit design. I like Doragoku's finisher and form change abilities but the character gets a bit annoying to me.
If I had to choose I too would opt to have Onisister get the figuarts treatment |
A while back I saw someone on Reddit say that Inubrother is the real sixth ranger, so Don Doragoku does not even have that, technically.
Let’s get an unarticulated SHF scale figure of inubrother as the third donbrothers release. |
Based on the last stream like this, I think we can safely assume Joneus is happening!

I?ll probably watch the whole thing. This is why Ultraman is the GOAT. They do all this outreach to the English speaking audience. Also off topic a bit, I ordered the SHF Upgrade Multitype Tiga Torso and light up head. Not sure if anyone wants any pictures of that when I get it in the mail. I noticed the paint on my SS Tiga?s torso was starting to bubble up and is disturbingly sticky, so I decided to take the plunge. |
i will get Joneus. he was the only Ultra-Act i regretted getting rid of when i switched to Figuarts.
|
I was hoping 80 would be next but technically Bandai's been going chronologically with the Showa era Ultras and Joneus's anime did air before 80's series so it makes total sense.

Collectors should be happy that there are reissues, especially for newer fans of the franchise. Reissues give newer fans the opportunity to get the figures that they want. Newer fans breathe new life into the franchise and give more sales to the franchise too. Complaining about reissues makes it look like gatekeeping newer fans. Nobody cares how long you have been a toy collector. I'm also sorry that your OCD is essentially forcing you to buy figures you don't want, hence your resentment, but that is pretty much a you-problem that may be helped by seriously talking to a therapist or someone who can help or something. |

Christ some of y’all scare me sometimes with your lame “advice” Sweet Christmas even an opinion on here is brigaded, more so than Reddit or FB. I see why people leave or don’t say anything here, it’s not as friendly a place as say most other forums |
I’ll try not to let the Door hit me where some fake middle Eastern God(s) split me.
Some of y’all were very informative and helpful, Kurona especially. Couldn’t figure out how to post pics here anyways, even with Imgur. Brigade away |
My guy, this place is plenty friendly.
It's the same thing all the time. You state an opinion extremely poorly with a "Better than thou" attitude, other members call you out on it and then you respond by throwing a verbal fit. If anything, the OCD joke makes your complaint about reissues even more of selfish problem than it already was. It's not a hard mindset to keep around here or literally anywhere else: Regardless of opinion, act civil and others will act civil back. Act like a jerk and you get what you signed up for. |
Alright, let’s get things back on topic. Remember if you have any issues between one another you can report the post and one of our staff will take a look.
We’ve got the Tamashii event later this month, I know there’s been images circulating around saying there will be more Sentai releases. What do you all hope to see? |
I think they've said they're showing more Zenkaiger stuff? If they are making another Zenkai SHF that'll almost certainly be Stacaesar which is very exciting.
Maybe they'll do Hurricaneger and Abaranger for the 20th movies, especially since they're aimed at nostalgia? Imagine a modern SHF Abarekiller... |
Quote:
But honestly, those could work. Especially if they decide to update Hurricaneger. They were honestly smaller than other Figuarts. I do hope we finally see GokaiRed. Or if possible, an SS style Akaranger. Need one of him to complete my ?nostalgia? trio with Ichigo and Ultraman |

When I was composing my e-mail to hasbro to get the correct abarrekiller head, I definitely called it the wrong dino season. Thunder or Lightning or Circus or something. But it was cool. Hasbro did not call me out. Also I did this maybe in March of this year, so they are still doing replacements, fyi if anyone is curious. I was just posing up the don momotaro SHF earlier today and it is a thing of beauty. The gun and the sword accessories are also crazy detailed too. Ultraman and Rider kind of have been having some bad practices with the accessories lately, but Sentai is doing the Lord?s work right now, lol. |
OniSister would be wonderful.
With her and Don Momotaro, I'd be fine with non-articulating HG figures of the 3 other CGI teammates. |

I have been wondering how they would do the furry arms on him though. Like, would they get old GIJoe doll hair? Disgusting ?flocked? arms. |
