No one ever explained why Grandpa knows Ryubei Sonozaki either. :lol
But hey, Decade logic/lack there of. |
What is the general feeling on Ryuki? I watched the pilot yesterday and still don't know what to think.
Is it worth sticking with? |

Downloading (Yes, I know how to use Torrents now) Kamen Rider Hibiki and the Seven War Oni. When it's done, I'll post my thoughts here.
|
Decade 26 and 27, Black RX and Black world.
Or as I like to call it "Awesome moment 2." Dual henshin aside, there really wasn't much to it. Tsukasa was being pointlessly nihilistic in it (Uncharacteristically so), Natsumi's only goal nowadays seem to be to start babying around when someone calls Decade a destroyer, and Kaito continues to take up all of Yuusuke's screen time. Cameo was nice, though. |

Decade 28 and 29. Amazon world.
This guy needs acting lessons, stat. Anyway, this arc wasn't bad, with the interesting premise of "What if Nazis* took over the world?" The idea that "Are the heroes really the good guys?" with the normal people living in relative peace, a world where, despite the villains having won, they aren't treating the denizens of the world like crap, and the people side with and love them. It's a shame it was only explored for about 5 minutes in the first episode and never brought up again. This arc had real story potential, and while the stuff with the kid was touching, it really felt like they chose the wrong direction to take the story, and that was in the back of my mind the entire time. Basically, Amazon had wasted potential, further brought down by bad acting and too much focus on the kid. Final stretch! 2 episodes to go. I have 4, technically, so I just have to decide if I want to watch the stupid ass Diend ending or the pointless Rider War rehash. *I'm well aware they're not Nazis, but the comparison is easy. |

And I am DONE with Decade!
I chose to watch the Rider War ending so I don't get tempted to rewatch All Riders. Anyway, it was nice seeing the real Kazuma again. Next, JESUS. The finale sucked something fierce. Not even taking into account the non-ending, Kaito was painfully out of character, Yuusuke, AU Wataru, and Asumu apparently never heard the phrase "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one," the pointless deaths did nothing but piss me off, and seriously, where is Decade firing all those freaking lasers from? The Ridebooker? Quote:
It was cool to see them have roles beyond acting like jerks then dying. |
Alright, Kamen Rider Hibiki and the Seven War Oni. And my preveailing thought was "I wish all of Hibiki was like this.". Not that Hibiki's a bad series. It's a very good one, the movie is just better. Something about Riders with musical weapons and powers is always awesome. The story was solid, the monster cg was a little iffy, but all in all it was good. I really enjoyed it.
Plus that suit is epic. |
So it's only taken me seventy years, but I finally finished Agito episode ten. Damn, I really need to set aside time to watch this.
Anyway, I have a question or two. I must have missed Agito's girlfriend having fucking psychic powers before now. Also, we still don't know the villains' motives. I know they're intelligent, have some kind of mystical powers, do weird finger sign language before killing people and are targetting VERY specific people. I must have missed or forgotten a lot because we still know very little about-OH and their boss is this creepy shape-changing child? (I'm guessing it's not actually a child) I'm pretty into this show and I'm only at episode ten. I only wish there was a bit more going on with Gills. He's got a cool biting mouth yell thing. Also hah! Agito Gills is a swimmer. Gills! GILLS! LIKEAFISH. Fish swim guys. |

Oh god, the Garren segment of the Fourze net movies is genius :lol

Since I have SIC Tajador coming, I figured I'd check out OOO since I'm so slow on Agito already.
I finished five episodes in one night. Needless to say I'm liking OOO better than Agito. Agito's fine, but I feel it's slower than it needs to be. I'll finish it for sure, though. OOO is actually really fun to watch, and it's all because of the main character. Eiji or however you spell it is wonderful. He reminds me of how I first felt watching Shotaro. I don't find the secondary cast or villains anywhere near as engaging as Double's, but I just like Eiji so much. He's such a nice person and so happy all the time. He's all polite and nothing fazes him. I wish there was more of a crossover between double and OOO besides the infamous Core War. |

So I'm currently on episode 7 of Ryuki, episode 21 of Wizard, and episode 2 of OOO.
Decided to put Kiva on a break for now, just too many other things on my current watchlist. Last couple episodes of Ryuki were really good, and the rider featured in this episode is one I really like the design of just based on what I've seen of the figuarts of him. OOO I've made no real progress on, not really out of dislike for the show, though it definitely has me interested the least of the one's I've watched so far, I just am having trouble getting into watching it with everything else I'm watching. Wizard I just haven't gotten around to watching the new episode. |

OOO and Double do show up often in the recent movies, but they never really have prominent scenes together, unfortunately. |
Alright! So I finally finished downloading the next Kiva batch torrent, so heree are my thoughts on episode 19:
what the heck is Otoya doing possesing his son? Oh well, I'm sure it'll get answered pretty soon, and I have a feeling that the movie is going to provide said answer. It was nice to see Kengo again, I wondered what had happened to him. It was cool to see him stand up for Wataru. The psychic scene was weird...dude sounded like he was constipated. Apparently Castle Doran has a heart...ok? 1986 was more eventful. It was hilarious seeing Jirou get all excited, instead of being the aloof tough guy. Rook was back...still donmt like him. I wonder why Yuri and Megumi froze up when they faced their respective opponents. So yeah, another good episode. I also forgot to mention something about the previous episode...is that the same auditorium that was in the episode of Fourze when we first see Ryusei henshin? |
Just finished episode twelve of OOO.
Sagouzo... *bumadabum* SA-GOU-ZO!!! Finaly a combo with a song as catchy as Tatoba. I really like Eiji. Ankh is... alright. I feel like he's too downplayed lately. He was fun as a foil to Eiji but he's not really been up to much lately. So that guy who works for Birthday man is the secondary rider, right? He's an opposite personality of OOO with combat training and aspirations feuled by jealousy. Totes the second rider. Man, it's not even like it's a secret. With Accel there was no drawing out. The first thing we learned about him was that he had a Gaiamemory. But this guy? I'm literally just counting down until he turns into a rider. Also, while it wasn't this episode, when OOO was trying to get the vendor to transform that one time I was laughing. Other than that I'm just having fun. Since double was my first series, and the series before OOO, I can't help but compare. I do kind of wish there was some building intrigue going on like with the museum. The bad guys don't have any ultimate scheme besides "take over the world" so really the ony interest with them is their personalities, which are nicely opposed but pretty standard. I do find Birthday man interesting, but he also doesn't seem to have an impending endgame. He's just mysterious and ambiguious. And he likes birthdays... ... ...he... ...he likes... ...birthda- Birthdays he... ... ...likes them a lot. Anyway, onto episode thirteenwhat cow face oh my God what's going on!? |
I think Kougami (the one you call "Birthday Man") does have an end goal, they can't relveal everything right away.
|
Well duh. But you'd think after thirteen episodes I'd know more about his non-cake goals. Like if he has any.

It starts next Wednesday. I'll handle it this go around since it's only one show. And we're gonna start up next week once the madness of Toyfair is over :lol

Ah, so I have 4 days.
...I could marathon Fourze in 4 days. I probably won't turn into a zombie like when I marathon'd Decade, either. :lol |

Haha! Birth was his traveling buddy! That was a great twist. Now I understand why it was so blatant that dude with the grimace was going to be Birth.
Although Birth himself... eh, am I allowed to say he looks kinda dumb? Actually no, that's not true. He looks fine, he just doesn't really look like a Kamen Rider. He's very plain with no motif or engaging aesthetic. He looks, actually, a lot like the Power Rangers Overdrive except covered in armour and balls. Speaking of his cracktacular balls what pop like bubbles, his gimmick's kinda boring, too. Just add-on bits of generic machinery and weapons. He reminds me of a Batman toy in that regard. Very standard robo suit design and a gimmick that's old hat. Shame because I've grown to like OOO's design and gimmick due to it's originality. Also the whole musical medals thing is getting kinda overdone. I hope things change soon. (I'm sure they will) Again, having medals as the focus and gimmick is fine, but the way they change hands every episode is tiresome. |
