How many eggs did it take to get your shiny Ralts anyway? (Using a Japanese Ditto with an American Larvitar)

Indeterminate.

Although the Masuda method increases the likelihood, it is still that same (small) likelihood each and every time. There is no guaranteed number. There is no guaranteed way. You just keep trying until you get lucky.

(Unless one knows the shiny value of the egg and can find a matching person with the correct shiny value to their trainer, in which case it's one egg. But that's a completely different issue and isn't even possible anymore.)

The probability using the Masuda method is 1/1365.
But probability does not determine possible outcomes. Even on egg 1364, it's still a 1 in 1365 chance for it to be shiny.

In other words, a lot of eggs. Lots of baby larvatars will be without trainers or homes (I'll galdly take one off your hands though of course)
