I like that idea a lot and hopefully Bandai hasn't forgotten all of those unreleased prototypes. I would selfishly vote for the prototypes of the Metal Heroes Series that got converted into VR Troopers in NA.
|
Oh man, I wasn't even thinking of non-Rider -- Metal Heroes would be incredible, especially Metalder!
|
I was thinking on Janperson myself actually :lol
That one alongside Kamen Rider Mars are the prototypes I lament over never getting released the most. https://i.imgur.com/vpGtQLr.jpg https://i.imgur.com/M4VHYSh.jpg |
Janperson is a pretty good pick!! My love is for Metalder but damn I'd take ANY Metal Hero love at this point :lol
I'm not sure what I'd pick for Kamen Rider since there's so little I collect at all for Figuarts now... Ghost Mugen is the big one but I feel like that one was still shown off 'recently' enough for it to still be fairly possible it'll come out? Compared to like, the old Gaim prototypes and Yongou etc |

Oh, and Redman! I haven't forgotten the teaser that went nowhere. And I want a new Gridman still! Quote:

If they had fan voting to produce Figuarts of unreleased prototypes, it would be cool if it could be separated by franchise.
At this point I'm not well versed enough in what unreleased Rider prototypes have or haven't been made to really comment. However, I can certainly think of some unreleased stuff from Ultraman. Part of that is being more casual of a fan for one franchise than the other, but also how long they have been produced in SHF. There's a lot fewer Ultra series figures for me to keep track of, and feels like more ground left to cover. |
The Kamen Rider and Ultraman wikis have full lists for each on their Figuarts pages! They're a little bit depressing to look at but they're there!

With kamen Rider, I have such a backlog of released figures that I'd like to one day get that it's usually depressing enough without even looking at the unreleased. |
Long shot, but if anyone happens to have the original SHF Cyclone and wants to sell it let me know. Getting in my Original Colours #1 has really made me want one...

Yeah, that was announced for release at Tamashii Nations. Not surprised you'd have missed it for a while though given how lame it is, especially compared to the Geats announcements there
|
At least they showed off both points of Lovekov's articulation...?

Full accessory count isn't listed yet but judging from the pictures, the Mebium Shoot and Mebium Blade effect pieces are included. Pre-orders open February 2nd in Japan. https://www.tokunation.com/forums/at...1&d=1674376560 |
Mebius! Not necessarily my top pick, but always cool to see another Ultra make their first appearance in Figuarts.
|
Considering the hero moment he had in this week's Destined Crossroad part, makes sense that they'd drop this out on nowhere.
Kind of surprised, would have expected Joneus before another Heisei Ultra. |
I'm surprised especially because both the Showa Ultra and Heisei Ultra lines were going in order until now. Cool to see something break the mold like that!
|
I feel this figure is tailor-made towards me specifically, to give me a reason to finally finish watching Mebius after like 3 years :lol
It's not that I stopped because the show was bad or something, I really loved it, I just lost motivation one day and stopped. |
Hang on, aren't the pre-orders for this the same day as Faiz...?
If the servers weren't exploding BEFORE... |

Ideally I can get both, but realistically - maybe not. |
I hope it's ok to post it here: How do I fix this color scrach (marked with a black square)? Is there any sticker or a marker with the right shade of white to fill it?
Thank you :) https://i.ibb.co/9VPTsRK/rsz-1rsz-bd4ghltu5eda1.jpg |

Are there any other companies making figuarts style toku figures? Only thing I’ve found is degenerator industry
|
The big one is Evolution Toy's HAF (Hero Action Figure) line which has a license from Toei and Tsupro to do all sorts of stuff -- Zubat, Metalder, Redman, Akumaizer 3, Izenborg; they even got access to do all five Gorangers about a year ago I believe. However, the line is noted both for higher pricepoints than you'd expect from SHF (their Zabitan, for instance, is 9800 Yen RRP), and their molds being on par with what you'd expect from early 2010s SHFs, especially in regards to proportions. Like, not Kabuto or Kuuga level; but definitely comparable to W or Den-O. I do believe their more recent figures are a lot better, though?
There's also Sentinel's very expensive but - as I hear from everyone who owns one - downright perfect Changerion figure if you're into that guy specifically! You'd probably have to be given he went for 18,000 Yen, but he doesn't disappoint |
There’s also Mezco, which will do 1/12 scale figures of Ultraman and the MMPR team. Those have not been released yet, and it may be quite a while until they do. Mezco makes figures that usually have some kind of softgoods clothing.
AceToyz did an unhenshined kamen rider black. They call it Mr. Kurata, like it’s a figure based on the actor and not the (more expensive) Kamen Rider license Alpha Max is also releasing an Ultraman Tiga figure which looks to be like a Mezco - figure wearing a soft goods costume. Mafex is doing Shin Ultraman stuff. Slightly bigger than SHF, but could fit in on a shelf. Super7 is doing godzilla and power rangers. And those are the 1/12 scale figures I can think of. |

Oh well. Figure still looks pretty good. Edit: oh man. I looked up the red hero figure, haha. They are flying too close to the sun with that. |
Wow I really like that Shin display! The figures were all made so far apart from each other I was worried that they wouldn't match.

That's just what 3rd party stuff is overall.
It's unlicensed original products. It's only become more of a common thing ever since it started really making waves in the Transformers community way back. Usually official sources won't bother with shutting that kind of stuff down cause it's just not worth the potential finance troubles, especially if they're not circulating anywhere near as much as their official stuff to the point of actually impacting sales. Like plenty of rider fans will own SS Black. A much, much smaller group will be owning a 3rd party Minami Kotaro. It's when a 3rd party starts making 1-to-1 reproductions of official merchandise that can lead to said group getting in trouble. There's a 3rd party group that what is essentially a KO SS W and now an SS Eternal. The W's gotten fairly good word, so I personally ordered an Eternal because getting an official one's such a bank-breaker now. But if things circulate further from there, I don't expect them to last without Bandai or Toei coming after them. |
I've handled that KO SS of W and even for the lower price it doesn't come close to the Bandai figure in any regard. However, with how rare Eternal is, a KO makes a bit more sense.
Like I always say, the KO industry has a way of getting original creators to reprint their stuff to combat the demand. So I wouldn't be surprised if we saw an Eternal re-issue. |

Mebius looks really good. Love that they're adding a beam with him this time around.
Also, I got my SH Figuarts Zenkaizer today, and I'm very happy with how he turned out. This makes my second owned Figuarts figure (the first was Ultraman Animation Bemular). |

So far my masked Superman W only had his head look a bit off, and the obvious wrong deco on the memories, but his articulation felt similar to the real Seihou |
Y'know considering that the form change gimmick in the Geats line seems to be exclusive to Geats himself since none of the other releases come with the necessary pieces to work with the other riders (I think the only combination that could possibly work is Buffa Zombie Boost and even then it's gonna depend on how the side cape thing is attached), I kinda wonder how Nago is gonna work. I get the feeling that she's going to end up being a more expensive "deluxe" set since it would need to come with a spare male Beat torso + other parts if they wanna keep the form change gimmick going with all releases.
|
I think they're just not gonna give her a unique mold like SO-DO, which would be cool
