Nothing has been said about Sky Type iirc, but it's one of those things that is obviously happening at one point since they did Power. I'd like to see them re-do Tiga but there's not a lot of precedent for Tamashii doing something like that...

To be perfectly honest, the rubber usage for Tiga and Black can be worked around fairly easily. Don't keep them displayed or stored in a humid or hot area and don't keep them displayed in a pose that keeps the material perpetually stretched are usually the two main things. I've had both for a while, my Black longer than my Tiga, and have photographed and posed them around fine without any sudden rips or defects to the overlays. You can even keep Black posed indefinitely in one of his signature henshin poses in a way that doesn't even stretch the shoulder material.

That's not to say I wouldn't be glad if they reissued them with the updated material they seemed to use from ShadowMoon onward instead. Just to eliminate that one hang-up.

Wow the foot design is.. something- I haven't decided yet if its insanity or brilliance. They really re-engineered the whole figure for this release. Sliding waist side parts that take advantage of the Faiz suit design! I'm most excited for the shoulder pad design as that is a thing that still bothers me and why I usually do poses with arms down. In fact, I recently picked up the SIC Faiz figure and the shoulder pads constantly pop off and are hard to make look good.

I agree that soft plastic has many great uses. Kenzan uses a little bit on the feet and its wonderful. Faiz looks perfectly inline with good use of it. Seihous are just getting so good they are making my older Seihous look bad!

SS Faiz looks amazing but I do have one concern…I hope the red lines on his thighs don’t chip like with the SS OOO Yellow combo.

Lots of interesting engineering on Faiz then. Shoulders being attached to the chest like the actual suit as well, which I'm a huge fan of.

Shame about the Faiz Edge, but I also notice it doesn't look like they can attach the Faiz Pointer to the phone in gun mode as a scope? Not a huge loss but another interesting thing they might do with another release?

Wait did the actual link state soft plastic or rubber? Cause if it's soft plastic then yeah there hasn't been much of a problem on that front.

My translation tool calls it "soft material", however, the exact same term was used to describe Seihou Ultraman in his blog post, I just checked to make sure, and that guy definitely doesn't have rubber pieces on him, he has soft plastic.

So yeah, they mean soft plastic.

When it comes to Seihou Faiz, I get the feeling it might be over-engineered, especially given the recent Seihou V3 has really over-engineered his arms for some reason. And even though it's suit accurate, I don't like the shoulderpads being attached to the torso as that limits the posability of the arms. I imagine he doesn't have a rubber torso like Tiga did though. Ideally his diaphragm joint is just hidden by his upper torso armor.

How so?

It's mainly just a suspicion, mainly due to what happened with V3 recently. Though I will say that while it is nice that the feet can hinge forward and back a good amount due to how they shaped his ankle guards, the gapping seems unnecessary, and I do hope it doesn't end up killing the ankle tilt, given the promo pics barely show that point of articulation off.

You can see it in action here. Basically, due to the way they inserted the joints, you can't actually get him to raise his arms all the way without turning the bicep upsidedown. The elbows are also weirdly like old SHF Sentai elbows.

The little scarflets or whatever you call them are on a raise ledge on the butterfly joint and definitely cut off some of the movement. I took a photo. It is a great figure though.

Also D Amazing is a great youtuber. Just wanted to put that out there. I got in to SHFs from watching his vids.

I'm also a little worried about over engineering on Faiz. This is something I will have to wait and see despite absolutely loving the suit.

Sometimes Seihou have designs that may be interesting but don't really hold up or add much in the long run. The "posable" chest pieces on Kabuto comes to mind. Another example is the form change gimmick on Den-O. I would have preferred a smaller box and lower cost over the Gun Form inclusion. All it did to me was leave me with parts that keep falling off.

I still don't know what the consensus on SS Black is and at this point I'm too afraid to ask.

Current random thought: how big will Seihou X's box be purely to accommodate for the Ridol Longpole? The original release - when Figuarts boxes were a fair bit wider - required the entire diagonal length of the box to fit it

I forgot to respond to this, but it all depends on the demand. Looking at most Seihou-covered series so far with Movie Riders; the likes of Kabuki, Caucasus, Arc and Poseidon are hardly super-popular characters, and said series already have a lot to cover to begin with.

Faiz on the other hand is a case where there is a relatively small cast of suits in the show itself to cover and where both Movie Riders do have some popularity, with one of them even being the Rider Form of a main cast member in the show -- a lot like how W is a very popular show with popular movie riders and relatively few show suits to cover. SO-DO CHRONICLE certainly found it easy enough to slot Faiz's movie riders into the retail waves despite not doing so for any other series!

(I'd also add on that while neither of OOO's movie-exclusive riders have been made, all three of his movie-exclusive forms have been)

I did wonder that myself, but that would create a seam where there doesn't need to be one; and I think Seihou especially likes to avoid those where possible. I think they'd rather do a larger box than that, especially since it's a made-to-order Preban product where they don't have to worry about shelf space

I mean they've done larger SS boxes before. Ixa and Den-O's boxes are already examples of that.

No GaGa Armlet either. Amazon was the first Seihou release I can remember were I felt let down by missing accessories. Sadly, it was not the last.

I was let down by those two, but the missing accessory I found most egregious was that he didn't have a hand option for his sign of friendship! That was such a shame

Ideally I'd love to see them re-release Amazon with a wired muffler and some of these accessories but I won't get my hopes up

There are definitely some Seihous out there that could use updates/reworks. Amazon, and the Kabuto Seihous for sure.

For sure Kabuto is in need of a seihou redo and I have to say Hibiki because the torso/waist area is way too skinny looking.

I dont own neither version of seihou Hibiki but can somebody else tell me if his proportions in the torso area look off from having it in-person?

Yeah, he is very skinny and the larger armor around his chest makes the contrast a bit harsher, but it's certainly less noticeable in person than in pictures, I'd say. Depends on the angle and pose as well

Seihou design is like the painting of the Golden Gate bridge. As soon as you finish on one end you have to start the other end again. These newer Seihous really make the older ones look primitive!

Which is why it still blows me away just how perfect the Seihou Kuuga mold looks to this day. Granted, Kuuga's' relatively simple design probably lends itself to that, but still. I honestly don't know how you'd improve any of these figures outside of the baffling choice Tamashii made to not give Rising Ultimate a bicep swivel.

Imo seihou Kuuga and Agito are practically perfect aside from them looking undersized now compared to recent modern figuarts but yeah the proportions are spot on, design is 1:1, and articulation is top notch.

I can understand why they're going so hard with doing all of his forms in the Seihou line because it is such a good mold that still holds up.

Yea even the good looking ones are going to need to be sized up.

Also the non-Seihou SHF are getting really good, and especially ones with heavy armor look like they can go toe to toe with Seihou, who excel at more slim suits.
