Watching the demo again, it would appear the jaw pieces are all compatible between each figure. I'm gonna speculate then that giving Buffa & Tycoon their own entry jaws is so you don't have to use the one attached to Geats, and vice versa on the Zombie and Ninja forms

Yeah if the jaws can work with the other riders then it literally makes no sense to include another one (and label it for use with Geats), especially since you can only display 1 form at a time (unless you buy multiples). There’s also issue of eye pieces since there are no orange ones for Tycoon (or red for Buffa) to use when swapping forms and just trying to fudge it with the eyes included would look very… wrong. Also Tycoon wouldn’t be able to use the proper boost legs since there is no green band around the leg.
This kinda makes me wonder if this is a tease for a potential accessory set in order to make the form change gimmick work across the entire line. |

As much as I love seeing Kamen Rider figuarts on the US Pre-Ban store now I can't justify those prices once you factor in the shipping and high tax. I'll reserve buying through them if they start offering Seihous on there.
I'll stick to Hobby Genki for main line Kamen Rider figuarts since those prices are more realistic for me and if it's a character I want now versus waiting on price drops on Mandarake but again I'm happy to see US Pre-Ban being offered Kamen Rider figuarts directly, just that their tax sucks on top of the inflated prices. |
Haven't seen this mentioned but the new Tector Gear Zero release is actually an improvement on the old Zero figuarts. Better articulation overall and they painted his butt fin! Pictures from here.

If I were to take a guess I'd imagine it's specifically because of the Tector Gear; like that extra articulation is there so he can move decently at all with all that armour that would otherwise hinder him. Doesn't explain the paint though... guess that's 'Premium Bandai' living up to the name for once :lol

Everyone should own an Ultraman Zero if possible, it's a great figure!

If the Ultraman line continues with Seihou, I feel like we will see Ultraseven and Zero sooner than later. That's pretty much what's keeping me from this SHF Zero release.

Seihou Ultraseven not happening is such a surprise for me... maybe they feel it's too soon since they only just finished the original Ultra Brothers with Astra? And in fact they haven't done 80 yet

I assume 80 will come after they release Joneus. Since if they're going Showa chronological, despite originating from an anime, Joneus did debut right before 80.

The holiest of grails arrived today for me, never thought I'd be able to get this guy for a reasonable price (granted one of the elbows were almost broken but nothing SHF Upgrade can't fix).

It just improves durability. Joints look basically the same as the originals but are more durable.
Gatack and Dark Kabuto suffer from the same potential breakage issues. Only the Hopper Hell Bros are immune to it because they fixed the issue by then iirc. |
Haven't bought any SHF fron Amiami in literally a yeae,but like, ?3900 can't be the normal cost of shipping for a single figure now, can it? They're saying that will be the EMS cost for Geats to the US west coast. Would DHL be likely to be any cheaper? Don Momotaro from Anime Export just under a month ago was ?2800

I love Kabuto, awesome figure. It was my second Shinkocchou Seihou I think? At the time it was magical to get these fancy boxes. Still is for "new" franchises, seeing the Ultraman box was amazing and I'm excited to get in Gokai Red.

It's always been like that and yeah it's a bit tedious, but at least they do let you change shipping methods before order completion. You gotta wait an extra day or so to get recalculations but I'll take the lesser of two evils.
Shipping-wise, DHL's always been cheaper of the quick shipping options for me. Whether it's one item or like 5+, compared to EMS it's at least a few bucks cheaper, at most $10+ cheaper. |

Need some advice: I know there's a bunch of different Ultraman figures, which one is the best? I think I'm going to grab Ultraman and Kamen Rider SHF to pair with my Akarenger for a small "classic toku" display (inspired by another post I saw on this site.)
I was also thinking about grabbing a Godzilla to really complete the lineup, but the '54 Godzilla Monsterart appears out of print and super expensive. Any suggestions here as well? |
