The problem with waiting for complete fighting games is that a year from now the game could be dead. So for people who mainly play online waiting is not really an alternative, this is not a single player game where I can easily wait for a GOTY version.

So what I would do is just buy the game and cherry pick the DLC characters I actually want. If that’s even possible these days but I think it is, right? Season pass is just the alternative to save some cash for buying everything?

Anyways, Swamp Thing looks really good. And I wouldn’t say it’s a surprise he’s here either, they hinted at him for the first game multiple times alongside other characters which now appear in Injustice 2 so it’s obvious that the ones they considered for the first game but cut for some reason are getting a second chance now.

I hope the customizable options give him his full wooden armor from the New 52 run, I always thought that version of Swampy looked badass. Also hoping that at least one other character, maybe Harley, greats him by singing "Swamp Thing, you are amazing".

There's a rumour that Ben Affleck doesn't want to be Batman anymore. Can't blame him as DCEU is such a trainwreck, but it's so sad how being Batman was what made him break his 'no superhero' rule since Daredevil

Thankfully I have no interest in playing the game online. Why would I want to get my ass kicked playing online when I can get it kicked by the AI, just not as badly?

Plus, if I buy it and buy the DLC characters I am telling WB I am okay with their marketing strategy.

It also doesn't help that I do not preorder games anymore and Darkseid is only available for preorder.

If you don't care about playing it online then there's no reason to not wait for the complete version.

Also, they better hold true to Injustice 2 apparently having the largest cast of any Netherrealm game, because this is 2 more Batman characters...

Arrow tonight was a really good and strongly written social commentary. I really enjoyed it and it barely even had Ollie as Green Arrow in it. It was kind of weird how they had some random viewer descretion thing before it when it didn't do anything different from any other episode. I loved that they gave us a backstory on Wild Dog as I felt he was the weakest character and now they just gave him a lot of depth. I hope they really do some good stuff with him now.

A trailer for the Injustice 2 app. This reveals the new look for Hal Jordan who was confirmed a while ago and confirms Cyborg and Scarecrow. Unfortunately it's not an official trailer for the console version but still gives a nice early look.

Not a fan of the Scarecrow's look. I was hoping he'd turn more monstrous as the fight goes on and he affects the enemy with fear gas.

Same. I honestly don't blame the actors too much for the current DCEU and it sucks Batfleck is heartbroken because I am one of the few who is tired of the Bale Batman these days and like Batfleck.
Heck even Caville I think could have gotten less hate if he got better guidance and a better script.

Another solid episode and my god, Gorilla City was AMAZING!!! I'm a little disappointed at how Keith David's talent was wasted for him to only speak like 4 lines, if that. I guess they don't have the budget to let the gorillas' mouths move, huh? Sucks, but oh well, I can deal with it. The battle arena was so badass looking and I did like the trailer for Injustice 2. I also loved how Julian kept making Planet of the Apes jokes (considering he was in Rise) and when he shows up dressed like Indiana Jones.

The Wally/Jessie stuff was a tad sappy, but OH MY GRODD!!! Seriously, I am so excited to see Grodd again and that he is going to be in next week's episode. Can't wait.

While not as strong as the last few episodes, tonight's Arrow was still highly enjoyable. I totally agree with what Thea did to that reporter bitch. The flashbacks continue to impress, but I feel like not much happened in them this time. Loved the ending fight, but I gotta be honest, I do not remember who that black lady was at all. She was in Season 2, right? I do like the stuff that dealt with Dinah, especially her conversation with Quentin at the end of the episode. Next week's episode should be really intense.

Finally got around to watching Suicide Squad.

Was an okay episode, but the set up left me a little confused. Have I forgotten something or wasn't Cupid handed over to Argus? Or were the whole Suicide Squad just disbanded and transferred after Waller's death?

EDIT: Nevermind I completely forgot the whole part where she was released back to the SCPD.

She would have been part of the Suicide Squad had WB not put an embargo on the team due to that awful movie.

Yay! I actually enjoyed that movie.

Plenty of undeserving crap wins every year. It was just hair and makeup, though, and it was only up against two other films, which seems to be the usual for that category. Still, I find it hard to believe it won. Warner Bros probably pulled out all the stops to blitz the voters. The Academy Awards just aren't what they used to be.

It's not a bad movie by any stretch of the imagination, I mean sure it tried to hard to be Guardians but at least it was more watchable than BVS

Still, I just don't see it as Oscar material at all...

Suicide Squad proves that the Oscars are nothing but political hand pandering.

Not to mention The Nice Guys, Hell or High Water, and Kubo were totally gyped.

I can only assume Suicide Squad won out of sheer iconography (not that I'm at all suggesting the look of the film is "iconic", it's just the closest word I can think of). Star Trek was far far more deserving, but the Suicide Squad aesthetic is something that seems to have permeated pop culture - for better or for worse.

I dunno, it just feels more like a pity award than anything the film actually did to earn it.

Marvel made superhero movies successful and D.C used their best heroes immediately, though SS is a complete fucking mystery to me

Marvel made a plan. DC made a budget.
Why make a headlining star that will probably need a 6 film contract with massive payout when you can instead hire 6 actors that everyone knows only 2 of whom will become semi-regulars?

Whether they make money or get awards to me the current DCEU is sadly a failed attempt at trying to catch up to Marvel.
They should have taken their time whether Marvel makes money or not instead of rushing things.
Of course there are some miniscule things that can be salvaged from this failure but overall the DCEU feels like a house with no framework and is about to crumble any moment.

At this point the only way WB could salvage this film series for me is have JL reveal that this Earth is actually the Justice Lords Earth.

Which is why I'm probably not going to bother with WW or JL. All I would be doing at this point is telling WB I don't care how much they suck, I will go see them anyway.

I think taking their time would've been the smartest move for DC, anyway.
Not just in terms of quality, but just, well...Timing.
If they released their solo hero flicks during the tail end of Marvel's big Avengers finale, they'd basically be a breath of fresh air.
No more cluttered films juggling 10 heroes. It'd be 1 hero, 1 villain, and only glimpses of something more. While Marvel is working new cameos in for every new hero, audiences who want something simpler would get that by having just Superman, just Batman, just Wonder Woman, etc etc.
By making all their films big multi-hero flicks, they're basically turning themselves into "Avengers but darker" for every movie.

One could argue that DC didn't want to risk the super hero film bubble bursting by waiting for Marvel to finish first, at the rate DC is going, they risk bursting that bubble just by how they make their movies...

That's the thing that annoys me WB*and DC fanboys* defend the films by claiming they want to be different but they could've easily done that by just doing self contained movies that don't require seeing atleast 3 other movies to understand the plot not only would it be different but it could cushion them when people inevitably tire of Marvel's movies.

And I really hope Wonder Woman is good she's one of my favorite heroines. But it'll probably suck

Sad but true it didn't make back it's budget by any means, but it did earn $745.6 million dollars at the box office while it was in theatres.

BVS did similar: making $$873.3 million at the box office, at least according to Wikipedia.

Actually, I think the way DC could have been different was have them part of the Arrowverse and the movies cover the high profile characters and then they could do big movie events during the summer after each season of each show is over.

...That's the same thing Marvel's doing with the MCU just centered around a tv show instead of a movie.

And I'd oppose it on principle because I hate Arrow

The thing is though, they already have a pretty solid "Cinematic Universe" like experience with their TV shows.

So the idea that they wanted to do a NEW universe while keeping it separate from their TV content still baffles me.

I mean, we don't really need Affleck Batman meeting Steven Amell Arrow or anything, but just having them reference what happened in Man of Steel in news paper articles or news reels would've been a nice touch.
