Oh if we are sharing QC issues. My tector gear Zero?s shoulder joint is all screwed up.

Basically the joint for the arm fits in inbetween two pieces that are held together in the torso and is held there snugly between the two pieces with tension.

For some reason on the right arm joint the two pieces that are supposed to hold the arm socket in are loose.

I have taken apart the figure as much as I am comfortable with, and I can?t figure out if that broken torso/shoulder part has tabs that keep it together or if it needs to be glued. I guess I can try to glue it later

The lack of a Kamehameha effect part totally kills the set for me. How do you advertise the effect set as Goku specific but not include his most signature attack?

Looks like a Japanese fan already found way around the strap issue on Geats by just replacing it with a black rubber band, so that's neat.

If there's one thing I don't like about most modern Ultra SHFs, especially recently-aired ones, it's how they pack in essential parts with exclusives to drive sales. Hate having to buy another figure just to get a beam effect, especially when I don't want other forms.

The beam effect is really annoying to begin with, but through frustration I can kind of understand it to reach the pricepoint. But the single alternate hand just feels petty?

I'm jealous of those beam effects that come with Ultra Man figures and wish tamashii would do an effects part set of them...I'm surprised they stopped doing effect part sets in general

Got a bit of an important question. Is Black Sun supposed to have softer, slightly bendy plastic, and not have any any little bits of plastic between joints or over the belt? My guess would be the softer plastic is for the organic texturing and shape, buy both that and there being no inserts in the package like seems to always be the case for SHFs has me worried I might have gotten a knockoff. Nowadays one of the best ways to tell if you have a knockoff or not is both the official logo as well as the holographic sticker that every official box now has on it.

It's extremely unlikely that there are knockoffs for Black Sun already.

Knockoffs tend to be of popular, highly profitable figures, and it helps when they are no longer widely available.

By inserts you mean the little paper instruction guides? I thought those were being phased out. I always wish toy reviewers on youtube looked at packaging more.

Oh. Yeah those are common. They're put inbetween joints as a way to prevent paint rubbing off.

If you check out the video I linked, you can see the guy rip the figure straight out of the packaging and it has none of those plastic thingies.

His belt looks like it is molded on to the groin piece. Do we call it a diaper? Anyway, no room to fit some of those little plastic thingies in there.

I wonder if the figure is just the color of the plastic and that’s why they did not include those plastic protection thingies.

Yeah, I know, I've been collecting SHF since Build, that's why I was concerned by Black Sun not having those in what seemed to be a sealed package, but...
Sounds like that's totally normal. Just my other concern then, the plastic feel. It's legs and arms are almost bendy, like how Hasbro 6inch figures feel. Though I've seen mention of recent SHFs plastic feeling lower quality, I haven't noticed anything of this lever on my Don Momotaro or Geats

I think what we should?ve asked first was where you got your Black Sun from. Was it from like Entertainment earth or Tokullectibles?

To digress a bit, I really hate those stickers they put on the back of the box. I am I know probably the only one in this forum to care about the back of the box but that's why I don't really buy US release. I don't have a good way to remove them as I don't want to take the risk of damaging the box.

A huge (insignificant) pet peeve of mine is stickers on cardboard slipcases, the kind you see on Blu-rays and such. Recently I learned you can hit it with a hair dryer and slowly peel it away without it completely ripping. Downside is there might be some glue leftover you would need to remove separately

It should be fine. As someone said, it definitely is not a KO. It is still vastly available and won't probably qualified for a KO in the long run anyway.

I've never confirmed it, but generally, SHF figures have printing on the torso, usually hidden beneath an upper body part.

KOs don't bother printing this. Not sure if Seihous do it though.

I think SS do it also to indicate the time/number of reissues.

Ok, cool, should be legit, but I am still curious to know, can anyone else who has Black Sun confirm if there's also had notablt softer plastic than usual SHFs? Even if it's not a KO, if I just got one with bad QC I might look into seeing if i can do an exchange. Watched a few video reviews and didn't see any mention of it

It’s tough to say. He is kind of a pointy guy, so maybe it’s softer to prevent people from getting stabbed or to prevent pieces from breaking off when it falls off the shelf.

I noticed the antennae are a little soft and the overhang bit on the side of his upper leg is soft.

Did any store actually offer exchange on poor QC or even missing parts for SHF? I always think buying Takara/Hasbro/Bandai product is at your own risk.

IIRC, Decker doesn't do the thumbs up until like episode 11, so I'm wondering if its exclusion from Flash Type was just due to the production timeline? Like I recall similarly that's why Don Momotaro didn't come with his fan, it was something that only came up after initial development of the figure started, so they couldn't fit it in.

Oh, the fan was a case of they could only choose 2 out of Sword, Gun and Fan and ultimately they decided both the sword and gun were more important
