DBZ is huge in Latinamerica, and probably even more so in mexico, as it was dubbed there, the fact that the movies were released theatrically and there is a tamashii event there speaks a lot of the market.
It does sound like a pain to track down, but at least it's simply a small variation.

To me it isn't a small variation. Goku with a school emblem (any of them really) is iconic. From near the end of Dragonball through the early Android stuff in DBZ, until he dropped the emblems entirely. It's one of his more iconic looks in one form or another. So to be unable to buy it easily kind of sucks :(

I'll take a lot more pictures this weekend but the STs are pretty cool while Vader just flat out rocks. For being my first Vader figure I have ever owned he is down right perfect. His cape is nice and rubbery so it looks great and will not deteriorate over time. If anything is missing, it is the lack of a choke hold hand. Aside from that, I love him. The death star base rocks too.

BTW, I wouldn't be surprised if that logo Goku also became a SDCC exclusive in the US.

Christ, Bandai's sure getting their moneys worth out of that Goku mould...how many versions does that make now? :lol

Tamashii can milk Goku's body for many things. They can use his body to make S.H Figuarts Future Gohan since S.H Figuarts Mystic Gohan is just Gohan's head on Goku's body. They can do S.H Figuarts of Base Goku Battle damaged Buu ver., SSj Goku Battle damaged Frieza ver., Kaioken Goku, Goku with his outfit at the end of DBZ and Goku's outfit that he had in GT. They can retool Goku's body for SHF Super Sayian God Goku seeing that SSjG Goku has a slimmer body then normal Goku.

The only downside is that the Goku body is old and not that great anymore.

I would like a renewal of SHF Goku but I doubt it will happen since Tamashii makes DBZ figuarts for the North American market. It's just easier for Tamashii to reuse the same molds for DBZ figuarts knowing that fans will buy it no matter how bad and cheap they are.

Vader had better be the best Figuart ever since his bonus has taken what should have been a £40-45 parcel and turned it into one that now will have cost me upwards of £100 :(

It is weird. The STs have the Blade/Ryuki style of hips while Vader as the standard ones.

Yes! I'm sad that I got into the DBZ Figuarts so late and missed out on Trunks. He was always my favourite character.

I might just go for Piccolo this time around. Had no idea he was getting a re-release.

Edit: Turns out Piccolo is already sold out at Nippon-Yasan. Wanted to ship him with SSGSSJ Goku to save on shipping but guess I can't. Thank goodness AmiAmi still had it available so I went ahead a got it. Amazon.ca doesn't seem to be getting any of the new DBZ Figuarts right now which is a little disappointing.

My bad since I miss read his post by mistake. Since the other two Vegeta figuarts can no longer be reissue then I hope Revival of F Vegeta will be made with both his base and his blue hair Super Saiyan hair as heads.

I still like to see the other prototypes get made first like Nappa and Buuhan. We have Mystic Gohan coming out later this year. I do imagine Tamashii will probably do figuarts based on Dragon Ball Super knowing it's probably going to be one of the biggest animes of this year.

Yeah, I missed out on Hulk so I'm using Figinstock to help me try to get it. I've gotten notices many times of it coming back but its always early in the morning 4-6 AM and the Figinstock emails went into my spam. -_- Still don't have a Hulk pre-odered. lol.

Although I definitely do no want to pass on DBZ figuarts right now since I had to pay a lot for Broly...if only I had made the decision to get him sooner, could have saved half the amount I spent on him. :(

It depends on the season, anything after Smile seems to be pretty good, but previous ones had loose joints, trouble standing, etc.

Is it OOO Tatoba leg-syndrome? Or are there differences?

Everything from Doki Doki is good, The Smile precures still have minor hair weight issues but not bad, Heartcatch precures are a pain due to the heavy plastic in their hair Cure Black and Cure White original are decent but have not aged well since Bandai take on newer anime figures.

Ah, okay. Never seen a Figuarts with head balancing issues before. Something to keep in mind. Thanks guys!

It's not so much head balancing issues as it is hair balancing issues. Any of the characters with huge ponytails have problems, up until the recent Doki Doki releases, which have hollow plastic hair pieces that keep them from being weighed down.

They're still good figures though and they do all at least come with stands, just be aware that you'll need them for most of the characters. The Smile and Doki Doki releases inparticular are really great and much higher quality than other Figuarts anime series, they put as much effort into them as they do the Kamen Rider stuff.

We did at least get Max Heart versions of Black and White, which are much nicer looking. Yes 5 and Fresh are the only ones that look a little dated now.

Is it just me or does the SHF Gohan look kind of like a knock-off? The purple for his clothes is not as vibrant as the photos on the box and the mold line on his legs are very noticeable. He just doesn't feel like the quality is up to par with the usual Figuarts quality. Just got mine the other day so I'll need to fiddle with him a bit more.

The price is going to be 34,560 yen?! That is way more than I expected it to be although it appears to be a Chogokin x SHFiguarts figure? Does that mean there will be some diecast? It does have LEDs which I also did not expect. I'm kind of glad that its a Tamashii Web Exclusive because that means I hopefully won't have to stay up to try to fight my way to get a pre-order but that price. Really gotta think about it...

And with the current exchange rate it comes out to about $292 USD. It also won't be out til January so that gives me like 6 months to have money tucked away for it. Seems like it should be doable.
