So I loved and hated tonight's Flash episode equally.
What I hated: WHERE IS THE DAMN GORILLA INVASION?! They showed Grodd has an army, they advertised it in the commercials, so why the hell is Grodd trying to blow the city up with nukes? GIVE ME MY INVASION!!! Okay, cool, we are finally getting to the inva... and they're not doing anything. Solovar fighting Grodd... and that's it? UGH!!! I know Flash is unable to fight Grodd hand to hand, but come on. What I loved: GRODD DAMN this episode rocks!! The conversation Barry has with Iris and then Harry about not killing. I feel like it is a dig at the cinematic universe and rightly so. Flash is a REAL hero! Not like that brute Cavill plays that is supposed to be Superman. :D Joe's entire reaction to them wanting to use his a device to read his mind. Jesse just waltzing in, yelling at her father, and then leaving. The moment on Earth 19. Although, there is one flaw with Gypsy. Cisco's not of your Earth, and therefore, he does not have to follow your laws about traveling to other Earths. The fight between Solovar and Grodd. It may have been brief, but hot damn that was a good fight. And then of course, all of the jokes and one liners that occurred throughout the episode as they always do. So overall, I am a tad disappointed we didn't get to see an actual invasion, but it was still a fun and enjoyable episode, and that is what matters in the long run. Curious to see what Megatron has planned for next week's episode. |
Well that episode of Arrow was good, and yet, kind of underwhelming.
The whole conversation Diggle had with Felicity felt very reminiscent to what both Iris and Harry talked to Barry about in Flash. Too bad she didn't listen. It's kind of weird how little action the last few episodes have had. I hope this means the payoff is going to be worth it with some truly spectacular fight choreography. On the other hand, really, HE'S Prometheus? Wow, that is the lamest lame of lame that a lame writer could get. -_- Lastly, I guess that rules out people's theories about Quentin being Vigilante. |
Well tonight's Flash was... mediocre. First off, it would have been nice to have known that I needed to have caught up on Supergirl before this episode aired. I thought it was just going to be a stand alone story and that was it. Now I've had things spoiled (among things that didn't make any sense) for that show.
Moving with the positives, as there were a few such as the Noir-ish lighting and the style. The Superfriends song was hilarious. Seeing Stein and Merlyn was cool, but awkward. Why were they here but not the rest of the groups? I mean, I could understand Stein being there since he was introduced on Flash, but that wouldn't explain why Merlyn was here. Shouldn't it have been Wells or Jay instead? Or even someone from Supergirl? Anyway, I can't believe I'm going to say this, but for being a musical, they sure didn't really sing all that much. The commercials and press materials made it sound like it was going to be this big thing. Music Meister was a pretty lackluster villain and him just leaving was a major let down. I don't know what it is about this season, but they seemed to have missed their mark on every single Silver Age villain. I'm kind of worried for Abra Kadabra next week. Also, holy shit snacks was Iris' accent terrible. Overall, while a pretty lackluster episode as a whole, it was nice to see Barry and Kara together again as those two have such great chemistry together. Once again, the Superfriends song was awesome, especially when Kara mentions the time travel part and he says, "I'm not supposed to do that anymore." lol The same goes for the Superman joke and "I'll be there in a flash," bit. |

This is just depressing...

Can't wait for this movie. It looks really good. It was good to see Commission Gordon in this. Plus we saw Henry Allen and Mera. Seems like they're really going to have all the heroes' supporting characters. Still no Steppenwolf though.
|
Looks alright. It will probably be shit, at least Ben Affleck will make it watchable.
|
Wow, that looks awful. When something makes Legends of the Superheroes looks good, there may be a problem.
|
Considering how meh Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad were, I really have low, low expectations for this.
|
Aquamomoa doing a one-shot multi kill Deadpool style is cool. With his fork too.
Flash looks dope in his own way. Cyborg still looks a bit CG but I can live with that. Wonder Woman still kicking butt. Batfleck is less brooding so that is good. I am slightly positive about it overall. I say we give it a chance and if it fails prepare your Final Vent finishers. |
Great episode. I liked the guy they got to play Abra Kadabra, but come on man, why does he have to be wearing plain clothes too? Give me a fucking costume!!! -_-
I thought everything between Julian and Kaitlyn was great, but come on Barry, really? REALLY?! Not to mention it looks like next time Barry will be meeting his movie counterpart. :haha: THe month break is going to be rough, but at least I will finally have iZombie back to keep my Tuesday night's happy. |

Things are in full swing for CW's FIFTH DC superhero show-
Black Lightning! http://www.dccomics.com/blog/2017/03...e?sf66691643=1 |
Not too shabby. I'm still curious as to which Earth this will take place on.
|
Pretty cool suit. Looks really high tech compared to the one in the comics. I just remembered where the Black Lightning actor is from: he played Wyatt in season 4 of Prison Break.

Loving the Black Lightning suit. Not too flashy yet has the iconic parts intact. Loving that blue TRON glow.

Anyway, we watched last week's episode of Arrow and tonight's back to back and they were really well done episodes. First off, I loved how last week's focused moreso on flashbacks than current time. That was great and unexpected. I really like this season's flashback story and I love how everything is coming together. Unfortunately, I really couldn't have cared less had Chase really killed Artemis or not because she is just a worthless character. She has had no development, was never even properly introduced, nor given any real backstory to anything. Anatole is a really great character. I wonder what would have happened had Merlyn learned it was Ollie who killed Kovar. This week's episode was also great. Ollie's mind is really messed up and it shows. My favorite moments included when Curtis walked into Helix and most importantly, "Why you do that? Now you have to run too." Oh my god I could not stop laughing from that comment. That was great. I really do hope this leads Ollie into becoming a more heroic hero like a super hero is supposed to be though as I'm tired of mopey Ollie. That is my biggest issue here is that he continuously regresses, but at least it makes sense where. Although, Adrian sucks as a villain. I can't wait for him to be gone. |
Just saw the latest Flash last night. Abra Kadabra should have been the main bad guy, as Savitar isn't doing anything.
Speaking of, someone pointed out a thing. Savitar is one of 2 people who say "Wallace" instead of Wally. If that's what I think it means, I'm dropping this fucking show |
That would totally suck, but I doubt it. He's future Barry.
While this season has been good even though it's not as good as the first two, I'm ready for it to be done. I want Season 4 already. |
Oh, Joss Whedon is directing a DCEU Batgirl movie. Apparently it's post Killing Joke with Barbara.
Jared Leto doesn't DESERVE a Killing Joke moment |
Nightwing and now Batgirl. I can't wait. We're gonna have a full on DCEU Bat Family. Now we just need Robin.
|
Whedon... meh.

Frankly, they should just put Batgirl in her own universe. |

We really needed Affleck's batman movie before Suicide squad.... |

So we started to catch up on Legends since the finale is Tuesday and we are going to end up watching it before iZombie premiers. Meh, nothing has really changed. It's still borderline boring, especially the Camelot episode, which was down right dreadful to sit through. That doesn't mean it has been all bad as each episode has had a great piece of dialog or bit I enjoyed (like the George Lucas stuff), it's just that I don't see how people are saying this show has become fantastic. Although, the Legion of Doom episode was fun, especially when Merlyn and Darhk were arguing with each other and Rip calls them henchmen, and the Apollo 13 one was pretty good. The rest kind of suck.
It was also disappointing to have the gang travel to the year 3000 and not have a single Legionairre around. The villains are a let down and why does RF barely wear his costume. COME ON MAN!!! Oh, I also feel let down by the serious lack of Captain Cold. Back at SDCC when they announced the Legion of Doom they made it sound like Cold was going to be a major part of this group, instead, he was resolved to be nothing more than Heatwave's imagination. Lastly, this ain't the Legion of Doom, this is the Terrible Trio. It's not exaclty a legion when there are only three members. |
