Looks like I need to take a trip to my comic shop then since I have been waiting for all of it to be out before I read it.

So maybe Secret Wars wasn't the best way to reacquaint myself with the Marvel universe. I've read 0-3 and I am lost. I don't understand why the Ultimate Earth and normal Earth were colliding, or why they were going to war against each other, or how Doom reshaped the universes into one with him as god. Or why Doctor Strange was working with Doom to do it. Not to mention why Namor is with Thanos?

Well, I understood the basics of issue 3, but again, I don't get how Doom reshaped the universes int Battleworld and why.

Actually, issue 0 didn't tell me jack. I thought the purpose of that issue was to catch everyone up to speed, but it didn't serve as anything more than "We need to build a life raft."

Finally watched the first two episodes to Agent Carter S2 today and this season is already great. I can't wait to see where this goes but all of the characters continue to rock. Jarvis continues to be fantastic and Peggy easily holds her own. I'm wondering though, is the wife supposed to be Masque? My other guess is Madam Hydra if not her. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Wilks a commie in the comics? Anyway, looking forward to watching 3 and 4.

Seems like Peggy has perpetual bad luck when it comes to men though, makes you feel bad for her.

That's the only reason I can think of for them sticking with the damn "black rubber armor" look. That design barely works for Batman; it sure as hell doesn't fit X-Men.

So Secret Wars got really awesome at issue 4 and I blew past 5-8. I'm stopping at my comic shop tomorrow to pick up the final issue and I think I might get a few of the Battleworld paperbacks. I really want to read the 2099 and Infinity War ones.

We watched the first three episodes to the new season of Agents of Shield and I hate to say it, but so far this is the worst of the three seasons. Yes, I know its only been a couple of episodes, but it is already retreading the same concepts they did last season. One of the scientists is messed up psychologically. Shield is battling a government agency. Sky/Daisy can't do anything right, she just has super powers. Grant is trying to make a name for himself and is being hunted by Shield. Mei has gone rogue. GIVE ME SOMETHING NEW!!!!!

That was a good episode. Sadly it has a bad ending.

One great episode does not make a great series. From the retreading of ideas to the godawful Hydra retcon, this season has been an absolute mess.

I wish we could get Carter as the full time show and reduced SHIELD down to the miniseries.

My main problem with this season was the mid-season finale. They really didn't need to kill off Rosalind. That was just stupid.

So far, though, it's been my favorite season. But I'm a huge Fitz-Simmons fan, so I'm incredibly biased.

Also Ultimate Thor's hammer landed somewhere on 616, so someone can get his power and probably appearance (it would be great if Odinson got it).

So I saw Deadpool tonight and loved. It give me on what I wanted for a Deadpool movie. Great action, funny humor and good characters. It was a blast from start to finish. If they do a sequel, I hope they don't try too hard to out top the first movie. Colossus and Negasonic did felt kinda pointless in this movie. I feel like that they could have written them better or cut them out completely. I plan to see it again, but in at a IMAX theater. 4/5!

Deadpool - As someone who is not really a fan of Deadpool HOT DAMN SHIT THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME!!!!! It's hilarious and full of a ton of easter eggs that mock everything be it from the Marvel universe to even DC and even Ryan Reynolds himself. It was entertaining as hell even though it was light on plot. This movie is all about style rather than substance, but does it in such a way that you don't care. This is to comic movies what Fury Road is to action. Is it the greatest comic book movie ever made? OH HELL NO! Is it entertaining as hell? DEFINITELY!! I give it an 8/10. Make sure you stay through the credits.

I guess Deadpool takes place in the new X-Men movie timeline since time travel made X3 and X-Men Origins no longer canon. Deadpool could take place right after the end of Days of Future Past when Wolverine return back to the future.

So I've recently learned that Marvel apparently has a "video game ban". Essentially meaning that since 2014 or 2015, no one is allowed to make a videogame featuring characters they do not have movie studio rights to (Essentially Fantastic 4 and X-men).

So if you thought Marvel was bratty before...

That's not true. Marvel's Contest of Champions features a ton of characters they don't have the film rights to. It's a mobile game, sure, but it is a game.

Yeah, this whole ban thing is nothing but BS rumors people keep spreading to make Disney sound like a terrible company. They may be strict on certain areas, especially on their older classics, but they are not the aholes people make them out to be. They haven't been that way since Walt's employees went on strike on him back in the 40s.

I think it's just because there's always been an anti-Disney movement. For some reason, people view Disney as the ultimate evil in media and it needs to be taken down.
So they take every little rumor and stretch it as far as possible.
Marvel wanting to downsell the X-Men turns into them being forever barred from media under Disney's control, for example.

Yeah. It doesn't mean there aren't some things that can't be true, but those people like to stretch it out way too much. For example, yes, it seems weird that Marvel would turn all mutants into Inhumans, but at the same time, that seems to be more like something Marvel itself is doing as they seem to be intentionally going out of their way to make the comics be nothing like the movies lately.

So we are finally fully caught up on Shield as we watched 4-10 today (the advantages of being sick) and overall, it was decent. I really liked the episode that featured Simmons' time on the alien world (although, it was weird that they put everyone's name in the credits when there were only a few actors in the entire episode). The next one was more of the same, Ward trying to bring back Hydra, Shield trying to stop him, something interferes. Actually, I was quite pissed off that they killed off Banks and Ros like they were nothing. This show has no idea how to develop characters that aren't part of Shield and keep them, do they? :rolleyes: I was so happy Ward was finally dead and then they had to bring him back possessed by an alien. WTF people? :banghead: Can't you just keep him dead? At least Powers Boothe is awesome as a villain, but I'm not a fan of them suddenly deciding that Hydra was just a variation of their occult. Anyway, I'm all set for the second half to start on the 8th now.
