Some things of interest include Beat coming with special hands to hold the guitar like a guitar. Beat also comes with swappable cuffs to remove Na-Go bracelets so others can use it. Fever Magnum comes with the ankle guns out. Also I just love the look of Punkjack's cape.

Yes, they're using the same body sculpt for Nago as the other riders to make the gimmick work. I hope that continues for if she gets any upgrades but I doubt it

I think it depends on how further upgrades work. If they're universal then hopefully she'll keep the generic body.

I figure they might just continue as is for consistency. Let another line like Shodo that doesn't do many form changing gimmicks make a more feminine Na-go figure.

Yeah that makes sense. But it was fun to see the design team continually innovate on the female character sculpts. Each release often got its own little blog post about the advances.

Also that Feverslot buckle sticker sure is ugly! I wish more people knew how easy it is to paint those things. If you pick this set up, do yourself a favor and grab a Gold Gundam Marker. You don't need a paintbrush or primer or anything.

Blog has mentioned it before, the stickers used in these promo pics are a kind of proto stickers that doesn't press down very well, so the final product is generally better.

It's interesting how waves 2 and 3 of Geats have been entirely, well, Geats; considering how much of Zero-One, Saber and Revice's first waves were put towards previous series' backlogs. I wonder when we're gonna start getting Revice catchup; I'd really like to see Invincible Jeanne and the Hibiki scythe soon

Yeah Geats just has so many suits and simple reworks. At some point I was actually worried that the SO-DO release volume would surpass available suits, mostly because they were putting in newly revealed suits in waves so close to show reveals that they had to hide the releases in the toy previews.

8 suits in a wave is a lot of space to fill and mixing shows together is a really devious way to get people into other series so I'm sure we'll see more Revice soon.

Yeah, I get the feeling that there's few enough suits to cover now (at least before next year) that next wave will probably have at least some Revice. I'm personally interested in what they might do when they cover all that Revice catchup, too... perhaps that 'free space' is what they plan to use for the Homework poll winners?

Sure, I expected the Armed Weapon chest, leg, some weapons, and the mountains of sticker options, but I was not expecting customizable Desire Drivers! This box fixes so much in this line. Only problem is how many you'll need. One good thing is that the wave is 13 boxes in a case of 14, so the extra box will probably be this accessory box. Hoping they do a similar set is in ID5.


Also, this reveal wasn't a leak or accidental. Apparently the last blog said that ID4 was getting revealed today in this way and it was lost in Google Translate. A kind person from Japan on Twitter helped explain that when there was no blog this last weekend. I don't know if this is a new format for reveals or an exception, but it was planned.

What's up with the Destream driver in the Demons Trooper's box? Was the one that came with Destream himself not very good?

Trust me to answer my own question mere minutes later. Using a crude comparison I realised that the Destream Driver sticker here differs because it has the Hercules Beetle displayed on it, rather than the blank of the original. They include a piece so you don't have to replace the old one or buy another Destream just for this or whatever. (It's molded in yellow though so... won't look that good)

It took me a moment to figure out why there's a Desire Driver with only one hole. Man, I'm slow on the uptake today. So we get not just the ability to display any combination of Raise Buckles, but we get the ability to display any single Raise Buckle in the Driver. Although I guess that'll also save on plastic over the course of the line...?

Raise buckle holders, you get an empty pair and another with a tab for weapons.

Blog tonight was just a sample review of tomorrow's Faiz Chronicle Wave 1 and the upcoming Black Sun sets. Next blog will be Christmas; they're skipping next week

Anyway, it's really weird we're getting all of wave 4 properly revealed a day before it drops.

ID wave three showed up over the weekend. (I still haven't seen 02.) Alas, even though boxes 11 and 12 would have been the ones we'd want duplicates of, it showed up with duplicates of 3 and 4 (Na-Go Beat Fever) instead. I suppose that there's no hope that ID 4 will come with more than one of sweet, sweet box 13, the one that has heads and accessories for basically everything. (And I understand; these things are going to be sold at retail. They're taking a risk releasing it at all.)

Since the blog apparently isn't going to give us any hints until next year, I suspect it's a safe bet that ID 5 will come with Geats and Tycoon Command forms and (episode 14 spoiler) Glare, and probably optional half-helmets for possessed Riders. What else...? Maybe stuff from forthcoming episodes, but I'm hoping for another blank half-body or two with additional Armed Raise pieces. I suspect they'll save the inevitable Jyamato Riders for Premium Bandai.

I wonder whether Bandai's blog isn't being as quick to hype up ID 4 because it's a bit of a letdown for people who bought ID 3: mostly the same Geats content as ID 3, with a couple of extra stickers to make them Fever versions. Stickering Monster and especially Na-Go Beat were not fun. Getting her helmet right is brutal.

SO-DO's actually been pretty good at not putting anything into Premium Bandai outside of Chronicle - the last thing I can remember is the Time Mazine sets for Zi-O - so I think the Jyamato Riders will see a mainline release. They're just probably not a top priority.

There's also still Revice's fairly hefty backlog to get through. What we're at now is:-

Once we hit the 20's, the forms will (presumably) slow down and Revice will creep back in I guess. It's weird though - both Saber and Revice dealt with a lot of the endgame stuff really early on, with Revice 1 being outnumbered by the Zenkaiger cross-over Saber, Storious, and both 01 Others2 forms. Given the "So-Do Homework" polls, I don't think the endgame Revice stuff won't get made, but maybe this is orders from above to proritise the new product and deal with the old later when they're not pushing 10 different Riders at once? Idk.

I feel like most of it will happen, because the ones I'd call the least likely to happen just did (Aguilera Dark and Demons Troopers). V-Cin forms also usually get made very close to the V-Cins themselves, like most merch for those movies

Problem: I dont know if Geats is gonna slow down on intro'ing riders. Forms probably, but riders I'm uncertain.

Probably helps being easy-ish repaints that'll bring the cost of a wave down. But yeah, we'll see it eventually.

EDIT - I was looking through the Revice waves, and if the Lords of Wise, villains so forgettable I didn't even remember the name, can get made, we'll see the final form of a main Rider and the movie villains for sure.

True, but at that point it'll just be the same as we've been doing most Riders outside the 'main five' so far -- a single Entry Form figure with multiple helmets

Maybe the real goal is to give us 32 Rider helmets so we can do our own Desire Grand Prix in figure form.

So what's the difference between so-do, sho-do, yu-do, cho-do, etc.?

SO-DO/SO-DO Chronicle/YU-DO:
SO-DO is Kamen Rider only. Generally two boxes equals one figure. Form changing gimmick is a focus. Many stickers. This is the line that strives to make everything, even stuff that only appears for mere seconds. SO-DO does current year stuff and is ages 3+. SO-DO Chronicle is for past Kamen Rider series and aimed at ages 15+. SO-DO and SO-DO Chronicle are right around 4.25 inches tall. YU-DO is SO-DO, but for Sentai. They use to be single boxes, but aren't right now. Ages 3+. Current year stuff. Even more stickers. Of all of these lines, YU-DO is the tallest at about 4.5 inches.

Shodo:
Single boxes for the most part aimed at 15+ with more focus on sculpt and paint (compared to SO-DO and YU-DO). Basically candy toys' answer to Figuarts. Shodo is not limited to toku. There's Dragon Ball (original and Neo Shodo), Kamen Rider (VS, X, O, XX), Ultraman (VS, later rebranded Chodo and Chodo α), Infini-T Force (a single PB set), Pokemon, Digimon, and Super Sentai (Shodo Super). Some of these lines can be quite short, but all the toku figures are right at 4 inches.

Mebius!! That's really cool to see a new version of him since he's pretty hard to get; popular guy. Zoffy is a really random inclusion in such a Taiga-themed wave but as a big Zoffy fan I'm not complaining about a heavily improved version!
