You're right. It's perfectly okay because they never used it before. They just took it, added a lion's head, and passed it off as something new. It's much worse than I thought.

The average Japanese child has not seen Power Rangers Super Samurai, and probably will not for several years (given they're airing what, Mystic Force at the moment?).
Toei have never used a gimmick similar to the Shogun belt before in one of their series.
The gimmick is new to Japan, and not a rehash of something they've done before. You only say its lazy because you have the ability to watch both Samurai and Wizard.

Besides, I can pretty much guarantee the Wizard Driver will get far better usage than the Shogun belt ever did. Hell it wasn't even used the one time Shogun mode was used for a fight sequence.

Not at all, I'm not a huge fan of the design either. I just attribute it to looking bad rather than being an apparent rip off of various other things.

If you just dislike the design, go ahead. But hating it for only loosely "ripping off" other character designs is a lazy excuse.

(And for the record the mayo thing was a joke, despite my true hatred of it. But seriously I will cringe during any scene he uses it. But then go back to loving him when he transforms.)

And Zeo brings up a great point about the Beast Driver. Very, very few Japanese kids will have seen that. So it'll work for them. And a lion head does look a little better than a giant face over your crotch.

I hate hate hate his design. The helmet looks like LaToraTah got into Albert Wesker's hair gel stash. The asymmetrical design is clearly just rehashing Meteor because he was a popular character, the belt is just the Shogun Buckle. The cape feels out of place and tacked on, and he puts mayo on doughnuts.

Like I said,I just dont like it cause it doesnt seem like a Chimera to me,more just a lion.Maybe it's just me getting tired of seeing felines in the Kamen Rider series as of late.

That's because a Chimera is the merging of multiple animals. The resemblance to the lion is because the lion is probably the most common animal seen used for a chimera.
The other animals come in the form of those capes and the other shoulder pad.

I understand that part,by all means.It's just they use so many felines in Kamen Rider,you mean to tell me they couldn't think of a better theme for a secondary rider? How exactly is a matador magical? If they didn't make him a matador they could've just designed the suit itself to look like a chimera.Have the helmet be reptile like,the chest a lion,and either shoulder be the bull and hawk/falcon.
