Tomb Raider great game, and great new ideas for Lara Croft.

Bought a good old game called Startopia, and this was one of those underrated gems. Tremendous fun, but can get frustratingly challenging. Spent over 6 hours yesterday trying to win a mission but still failed.

Got through the prison section of Assassin's Creed 3 today. Holy crap, this game is awesome. That section officially moved this one up to second best behind Brotherhood.

Playing the classic GB Ultraman. Made it to and actually BEAT Z-Ton, which was a first for me. I had made it to him before but not beat him.
BUT! The way the game works is that after you defeat Z-Ton, he blasts Ultraman and leaves him at death's door. Then you have to shoot Z-Ton with the rocket bullet thing that Arashi shoots him with in the episode. And I missed, so it's GAME OVER. Oh well! Still a fun game if you are an Ultra fan. Very old school Japanese style gameplay. |
Right now? Age of Wushu,Smite, and waiting to get Defiance.

*Sentai Reviews Classic Games* *Sonic Adventure (With DX DLC) on Playstation 3* Let me start by saying I've had this game before. I owned it for the original Dreamcast, which is a system I will defend until I die, and again on Gamecube when it was released as DX. Originally released as one of the Dreamcast's Launch Titles, Sonic Adventure was the first true attempt at a 3D Next Gen Sonic game. The story revolves around a City named Station Square. Robotnick is back, and has found the Ultimate God of Destruction. Chaos. According to Legend: When Chaos devours the Seven Chaos Emeralds he will be unstoppable. And Eggman intends to use that power to turn Station Square into his new citidel. As you progress through the game you find allies, who each have their own unique story. Sonic, Tails, Amy, Big the Cat, Knuckles, and E-102 Gamma. Sonic and Tails each have a similar play style. Classic Sonic Stages where you have to rush to the end, collect rings, and such. Knuckles' consists of searching a given stage, usually one Sonic has cleared, and search for fragments of the Master Emerald. Amy's levels are typical chase scenes, where you have to run from one of Eggman's goons trying to capture her newfound friend Birdie. Big The Cat's stages, again ones Sonic has cleared, are mainly fishing stages. You go around looking for his friend Froggie, somtimes fishing him out of Chaos who swallowed the small frog. And Gamma's are basically basic shooter-type stages. Where he fights back against Eggman, after Amy helped him break his brainwashing. The DX pack, which was only 2 bucks, includes extra stages and Metal Sonic as a playable character in the mission stages. If you pay the five bucks for Sonic Adventure, I'd say spend the extra 2 for the DX pack. I wish I could tell you this game aged well. I still enjoy it, but it has so many problems I can't recommend you buy it unless you're a huge Sonic Junkie like I am. The Camera in this is freefloating, but you have almost no control over it. Making platforming a real chore. The controls are solid enough, when they work. But you'll find yourself cussing at the camera so often you'll never notice. The story is there, I enjoy the characters and such. But the graphics are showing their age, the controls are hindered by the camera, and every other character using stages Sonic has been through is lazy. This title does have full trophy support, and their all really easy to get. So there's that. Sentai Gives Sonic Adventure 2 DX for the Playsation 3: 3/5 Headders |

*Sentai Reviews Classic Games* *Sonic Adventure 2: Battle on the Playstation 3* Once again we have a game I owned twice before. On the Dreamcast, the Gamecube, and now again on the PS3. Sonic Adventure 2 is the sequel to the original Sonic Adventure. But much more refined. The Game takes place in the same world as Sonic Adventure. But where you could freeroam a Map between missions, in SA2 you do everything through Missions broken up between the six characters. But you don't have to find them this time, which is nice. The level types are broken up between three main types. Sonic and Shadow are classic Sonic. Rush to the end, collect Rings, save Animals. Rouge and Knuckles are open ended maps, where you search for the Master Emeralds (And sometimes Keys). And Tails and Eggman are typical Levels but you pilot two different kinds of Mecha. Eggman in his Eggcar, and Tails in the transformed Tornado 2. One thing I'm pleased about is they fixed the Camera. It follows the character perfectly, you can rotate it, and isn't the hinderence it is in SADX. Another is that every character has distinct levels, and you don't repeat like in the first game. At the onset you choose between Hero or Dark, allowing you to either do the Hero Story or the Villian. You go from character to character, moving along through the story, and learning more about Shadow's Past and Eggman's Grandfather. While trying to stop the destruction of Station Square by the Robotnik Cannon in Orbit, hidden inside a large Asteriod. Once you progress through both stories, there's a Special Mission, where both sides join forces to stop the Final Launch. And you go back and forth between all six characters. One thing I did enjoy in this, that I never played in the original because it wasn't any good, is the Chao Garden. You're given two eggs at the onset (You can purchase more later in the Chao Kindergarten). And can raise the Chao inside however you want. You can throw them, kick them, love them. And give them various animals you rescue or Chao Power Cores from inside the Guard robots in the game. The tiny virtual pets even evolve given the right attention, opening up two more Gardens. A Hero, which they modeled after a Heaven scene. And Dark, which looks like a cartoon Hell. But that's not all. You can fight your virtual pets with use of the Battle DLC, and pit them in a Karate Tournement. Or Race them against other baby Chao. Both help you unlock toys for the Chao, and give you Badges to use to purhcase rarer items. One bonus that comes from the game is a free SA2 Theme featuring rotating pictures of Sonic and Shadow. Along with PSHome items through playing the game. A blue SA2 shirt, and Sonic's Grind Shoes, for your Avatar. This game improves where the first one lagged. It has a more cohesive story, better graphics, better controls, and the camera doesn't beat you. All in All a ver fun game, and a great way to kill an hour. Sentai gives Sonic Adventure 2 (With Battle DLC): 4/5 |
I never gave the Sonic Adventure games much mind. Is 2 really that good, or is it just getting a score like that for being better than the first?
