Yes - December of this year as we are currently in production now...

And that viewpoint is totally cool - just keep in mind though, there are many fans of PR out there, and the ones who donated to the making of this thing are happy and excited to see what it will be, so you could argue that it is being made for the fans, just maybe not every single fan that is out there in the world, because everyone is of a differing opinion at times...

NY Comic Con was a blast this past weekend! This is the backside of the flyers we were passing out while showing the trailer for the first episode coming out in December from my professional facebook page:

There are many pics from the event that have been posted on facebook and twitter and there were also many interviews we did that will be posted as well. We had a really great time showing the trailer and getting to talk to fans and the reactions were really phenomenal - very excited for it to be released in December!

And my 4 year old went with me as well and had an amazing time - though I couldn't seem to keep him away from Spiderman all day - poor guy had to take pictures with him like 10 different times...

Sorry we didn't get a chance to track you down Don - things got hectic on our end and with our crew that remained at NYCC past Saturday.

I find it ironic that a fan film is taking more liberties and re-imagining more than a Hollywood blockbuster. Making the blue ranger a girl, the completely different suits, it's way more differnet than the source material than most superhero movies go.

This is what I'd expect a big time HW production company that doesn't get the original show to do verses a supposedly fan-oriented independant movie.

^ I guess the main difference is that those are ultimately retellings of the original story, there's a limit to how much they can stray from the original source.
While this is more of a sequel to the original show, there's more room for changes.

At least that's how I see it.

But do they? Holloywood has changed a lot in certain franchises, and fans, y'know, kind of have this image as people who really don't want change. Especially if it's a fan film tribute. It seems like an awful tribute/sequel if it looks like it has literally nothing to do with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Legally, if Saban Brands decided to say "This is a no-no and we'd like you to stop", they'd have no other choice but to remove any mention of the intellectual property that they're basing the entire series/film/whatever on. Parading around conventions and calling yourselves "Power Rangers" is a very, very dangerous slope to stand on. The larger and more popular this gets, the bigger the target they paint on their backs.

If Saban feels that they're infringing on Saban's intellectual property without going through proper channels and licensing, this entire project could get shut down. And trying to revive it under a different name, and trying to simply insinuate certain story lines and certain characters is a tougher act to sell than simply calling it out-right what it's meant to be.

But at that point, is it really MMPR?

Like it feels like this was a project doomed from the start. Either they make a movie accurate to MMPR and get shut down, or change it and basically do a PR spoof ala Asylum's knock-off movies.
