Well, now I've gotta go back and watch Dino Thunder in it's entirety, because I watched some of the reruns on Nicktoons, and I thought it held up pretty well.

Also, I thought you were going to say Decade at first. :lol

Resolved is being kind, huge chunks of Dino Thunder's plot is basically just dropped. Especially when it comes to the initial conflicts around Trent. Trent really was just a terrible character.

There aim wasn't to draw you into toku, it was to draw your parents/your money out of them/you.

I was watching the original "Super Sentai Series" as they were airing in Japan. When I saw "Power Rangers", I was like cool, a U.S. version. Once I saw how they were butchering it. My aspirations for it faded quickly, I was done with it by Power Rangers Turbo.

I blame Saban and Disney. :p

Meaning, having a production company who actually cares about the source material and not just turning a profit. (But yeah, that'll happen :D)

You missed the point.
Without Power Rangers, about 90% of us would not be here talking. It doesn't matter what their goal was, it was through that franchise that sparked any interest.

Yeah Trent's introduction is fantastic. The way he is torn and pained by how his power was used to hurt his friends, the way Conner refuses to accept him, his romance with Kira. Then it all goes nowhere...

I HATE people who say that Power Rangers butchered Super Sentai. Yes Power Rangers uses sentai fights *claps for you because you are the smartest one on our board* but that doesn't mean Power Rangers IS Super Sentai. They don't just dub the footage, they add new characters, new stories and new fights. Whether you like the direction the Power Rangers version takes it, the original sentai is not ruined, because a) the sentai will always be there but b) IT ISN'T THE SAME THING.

No I didn't "miss" the point, I was just irrelevant to me.

Because Saban tried to spark our interests in Super Sentai/toku, back in the mid 1980's. It didn't take. :(

Had someone else picked it up, produced it, and oversaw it. Instead of those two companies. :mad:

With the popularity of the franchise, someone was bound to pick it up. We just so happen to had Saban pick it up first. :(

Abandoned story lines from Dino Thunder:

- Tommy and Smitty
- Tommy and Anton
- Trent's birth parents
- Zeltrax's reason for revenge

I put the last one in there because let's face it - it takes more than "you were more successful than me" to harbor that much hatred and spite for someone.

Everything about Zeltrax was inconsistent, remember when he turned against Mesogog for no reason and completely undermined pretty much his entire motivations prior?
