Yeah the fruits are pretty much a total mood killer but I cant get myself to mind it all that much. Its so dumb and ridiculous yet they play it so straight that I really enjoy it.

Fruits, as silly as they are, are pretty badass when they unfold since they're not actually fruit, just armour in the shape of them. Plus, I can see dramatic henshins forgoing the fruit imagery and just becoming the rider, like how W didn't do the full routine into Xtreme in the second to last ep.

A giant metal orange unfolding into badass samurai armour will never be as bad as...

I wouldnt be to quick on that. Even though Xtremes Henshin in the penultimate episode was really quick it was still the normal henshin sequence.

The thing with the henshin is Gaim is that the dropping fruit is an integral part to it. You cant not do it cause it is the way the sequence has to work.

It would be the same if OOO did a transformation without the medals appearing around him.

Philip was never knocked out, never scanned by the Xtreme memory, they never formed CycloneJoker, the henshin sound for it never played.

It was absolutely not normal. They never formed Xtreme like that before or since.

Some could say the same about the Den-O henshins, and they sometimes transformed without the armour. In fact, after the series proper they mostly transformed without the transforming armour.

It's not integral to the henshin because it's not real, it's special effects they could always just leave out for dramatic purposes. They could easily just make him glow really bright and then just be in the full suit.

They could, really, make him transform however they wanted. It's not like this stuff is real. Like I said, W transformed with literally just a wind effect. Regular CycloneJoker didn't even appear.

First of all...I didnt quite get that you literally meant the whole henshin sequence from Cyclone Joker to Xtreme Form BUT even then the henshin pretty much was the same as before. Alle the action just was covered up by Xtremes Henshin effect.

On the other Hand you are comparing two distinctly different Henshin styles. Base to Final Form is a completely different concept than a human to base Form henshin and as I mentioned before Gaims setup requires the Fruit to drop and unfold cause there are no other effects to cover it up. The only solution would be that the fruity effects when the Body suit appears covers up the actual unfolding part but still you would have the actual fruit still dropping on the head of the actor.

No it's not. Philip could not pass out, get scanned while Shotaro transforms, then become Xtreme in literally three frames. W's entire henshin is based aorund him standing still. It's practically impossible for him to henshin on the move.

If they wanted to, they could not even bother to show his henshin. They could have it happen off screen should the scene require. There's no reason the fruit HAS to show up. Afterall, look how he transformed in his room in the last episode. We just saw a flash of light behind the door. I didn't see any orange. There's no reason he can't just do that.

You seem to have cleverly avoided my Den-O comparrison, which is VERY similar to Gaim. Almost identical in how it happens. The only difference is the armour simply materializes. They often ignored that and just had Den-O appear in full form.

I find it funny that we're debating this since I have numerous examples of henshins that deviate, one even in the show itself, and regardless it's not like either of us disagree in our reponse to the actual problem of the fruit thing being a distracting. (i.e. we don't find it a problem :lol)

Shortening Henshins isn't that rare, if at any point the production team thinks that the fruit may ruin the mood, I think it's very likely they'll be dropped.

And honestly, it doesn't bother me, it's not screaming constantly at the very least...
