Generally, when people ask for Toku, they're not looking for the term in general. They typically asking for henshin heroes or Kaiju (I know mecha are a big part, too, but there are so many mecha anime that they've been split into real robots and super robots just to make organization easier :lol)

So when I see this thread asking for Toku styled anime, in theory, you could list any magical girl, shonen, or supernatual drama series because they feature a specific aspect that overlaps with a Sentai or Rider series, so the list has to be culled.

Exactly this, otherwise we'd be getting to the point where any anime that featured a fancy sword fight or explosions could be considered "toku".

When I made this, I was basically looking for anything similar to anything you'll find in the tokusatsu genre. However, i've noticed that a few genres (super robot, magical girl) have a LOT in common with tokusatsu (Super Sentai is basically live action super robot). So basically list any anime that is similar to Kamen Rider/Metal Heroes/Ultraman/Zaborger/Kikaider/whatever, with people transforming into superheroes, or any super robot anime that has striking similarities to super sentai (Beast-King GoLion is a good example of this)

I remember that anime. It was a parody of Ultraman. The 1972 Devilman TV series feels pretty close to Toku and Kajiu flicks. This version of Devilman can grow giant and fight other kajiu similar to Ultraman.

Takegami: Guardian of Darkness is also similar to Ultraman with the idea of a hero that can grow giant to project humanity from evil giant monsters. Even episode 2 has a homage scene of Ultraman.

Those are the only anime that I can think of that feel close to Ultraman.

Theres a show that saban is dubbing on Netflix called Glitter Force, its kinda girly but pretty sentai like. Another suggetion would be Gatchaman. Or Tottemo Luckyman which I think is a parody of ultraman

Glitter Force is a Smile PreCure dub and PreCure is basically Sentai for Girls, and Gachaman is why Jetman is birds.

Most likely.
Although Gatchaman and a good number of their hero shows that aired before Goranger pre-dates super sentai, tokusatsu heroes were around since the 60s starting with Gekko Kamen or "Moonlight Mask".
