The proportions are usually different from the suits (because the suit proportions are designed for a human to wear, not proper scale) but it's more noticeable than usual for me.

yup but Super mini-pla has been trying to balance to proportions of the original models/toys/cg and the actual costumes it's more noticeable in some releases than others and Gaoking's lower legs are usually depicted being as thick as his thighs so the wider lower legs make the thighs look weird

I like the way the skinny legs look. It reminds me of 80s super robots.

I wish that at this scale there was a stable way to collapse the lower legs to get those proportions but alas I feel like that’s a Soul of Chogokin trick

I think Sentai Minipla mostly takes after the DX looks, just modernized with more articulation. I'm interested to see what if any metallic or plated parts we get with this one.

Also one of the things I like about Minipla are the bigger heads. Heads are always so tiny on DX toys so they fit cleanly into transformations. Minipla usually includes 2 heads: one that fits into the transformation, and a bigger one you attach separately that looks much closer to the shows.
