5D's starts out pretty strong but slowly goes downhill from there, which, as far as I've seen, is unique amongst the franchise, which usually start weaker and end stronger.
At least, that's what people keep telling me about Zexal and GX. |
Yeah, I felt 5Ds should have ended when Godwin was defeated. After that, the show just fell apart. At least it had an actual ending compared to that joke that was GX.
ZeXaL was just a crap series all around, although, at least I watched more than 2 episodes of it, which is more than I could tolerate of Arc V. |

Which rumor has it upset the guys working on it to the point that they intentionally made the rest of the show worse and worse just to spite them. |
The Dark Signer arc and everything leading up to it is really all you need to watch out of 5Ds.

Ruined the card game. Ruined the anime. Fuck that deck. |

Turns out that was intentional 5D's showrunners never intended them to be an archtype just a couple of themed cards used by a minor arc character. Then Konami saw how the cards were selling and forced them to put Crow in the spotlight which torpedoed their plans for the show.*Rua was always the intended fifth Signer and Akiza was supposed to be far more prominent in the plot* |
Eh... Blackwings, even at their prime, never really got me. Maybe it's just my low opinion of their bosses. Well, other than Armor Master, he was awesome. It's a mixed blessing that battle destruction immunity isn't as good as it used to be. Also, from what I've heard, Crow was always meant to be a major character. The popularity of Blackwings just changed whose side he'd end up on. Look at the final Earthbound God. Look at it's design. Yeah, what you're now thinking is true.
Of course, the fact Konami decided to renew support for Blackwings in the same series that they created a Dark Winged-Beast archetype based around swarming to summon Extra Deck bosses. Oh, and with a cooler aesthetic, IMNTBHO. Way to go Konami, you just jerked all the Blackwing fans' chains for nothing. Of course, you could say similar things about the Destiny Heroes and Lunalights, but that would imply D Heroes were a real deck before. No, TeleDaD does NOT count as a D Hero deck, it's just degenerate Diamond Dude nonsense. Fortunately, Ancient Gears getting some fun new stuff is awesome as well as Cyber Angels FINALLY getting a real printing. Only took ya a decade. Now, we all await the new shenanigans that they'll bring forth in the new series. |
The problem with Blackwings is that they kept shoving them out. They're kinda like Heroes. If you look at them all as a whole, they're shit just because so many of the cards are just so worthless.
But when you sift through the crap, they're basically gamebreakingly strong. Or...They were. The game has advanced far enough that they're irrelevant, but in their hayday, they were a force. |

The anime always tries to upsell new decks. "Dude, your Cloudians are amazing! It's like an unstoppable strategy!" "Woah! Those Crystal Beasts are wild! Their style is like nothing else!" "Yo! These new Neos and Neo Spacians are amazing! Let's ditch my old shit E-Heroes to sell these new pieces of shit!" |
Quote:
Destiny Heroes not so much.:lol |

Don't remember Neos dominating. |
To be fair, Cloudians and Crystal Beasts are underrated, while Neos was uncharted design space. That they learned from, if Gladiator Beasts are anything to go off of. I mean, imagine if the Neos fusions actually brought back Neos when they left the field? They might actually be, dare I say it? Decent.
Anyone here ever see RNK10YGO's Legacy of the Worthless? It's fun to watch, although, warning, the Worms episode is incredibly misleading. ...Also, Rainbow Dragon... broken? We're both talking about the stupid 4k beater with no protection, right? That existed in the same formats as Glad Beasts and Lightsworns in their prime? |
Quote:
Although if memory serves they usually only focused on one version of Neos*usually the most broken at the time* and were quickly outpaced by both vanilla Heroes and Cyber Dragon decks. |
Must of been Grand Neos that is the only one I remember of the easier fusions that had a good effect. I did wish the Mechlords were done better maybe like they were done in the show.
How can someone not like Arc-v? Its great once things get going and doesn't do the bonds of friendship bullshit that 5Ds did. Also can someone explain what caused the end of the world for the final villains of 5Ds please because every time I try to remember what happened I get confused from how stupid it was. |

In 5D's there's 5 Signers. But for some reason there's 6? When it was on CW 4Kids we never got to see Rua become the 6th. What's his symbol supposed to be?
|
Quote:
The only deck that I built that actually appeared in the anime was Venoms. They lasted all of 2 episodes. Jaden defeated them, and their user died. |

Sure, we Crow fans admit Aki could have used more duels, and Crow stole some he didn't need. But really, Blackwings ruined the game? Have you played Qliphoths? Lightsworns? Blackwings are basic in comparison. |
Quote:
Besides, its a mystical time-jumping darkness-thwarting dragon. Bullshit like choosing a new symbol for a duelist it likes doesn't seem that big of a stretch for its powers. |

But at the time, packs were overflowing with worthless Blackwing support, Blackwings were doing phenomenally well and not getting nerfed due to their popularity, and the game was so boring because it was either Blackwings or Plant OTK. |
Anyone here playing Duel Links? I'm really enjoying it right now.
I appreciate the fact that they made the game simplified by taking some of the newer mechanics out. The way you play the game is also how I use to play the actual card game too: picking a theme for the deck and adding random cards as I saw fit. |

I remember people calling bullshit after Crow became a Signer because the show built it up to be Rua. |

So anyone got any tips on formulating an extra deck for deskbots, there's a tuner in the deck in the form of 001,
|
Well, literally anything other than 2 stars is feasible in the deck, at least assuming you're playing pure. 001 is a pretty neat little tuner, plays well with 004 and the Pendulum side of the deck. To the point where you really only need to run the one copy.
I'd probably focus on tech options for the side deck, as you don't really need to Synch a lot in Deskbots when things are going your way. So just look at tech options... I think you can run Leo, the Deskbots ARE Earth... But most of the time, you're going to be smacking them with 009 for game without even touching your extra deck. 003 can be a pocket Rank 3 when you need it, so you got options on that front. |
Hey, if I'm trying to make an ABC Drago-Buster deck, should I build strictly ABC or ABC and XYZ?
|
ABC seems to be more efficient when it's just them, since they can recycle themselves, while XYZ is slower.
ABC's big boss is weaker than A to Z, but it's faster. And in Yugioh's current meta, speed wins games. |
Also, ABC can basically evade almost all forms of removal while also setting up for another big play.
Seriously, Dragon Buster is one of the most insane bosses I've ever seen. One of the easiest summoning requirements I've ever seen? Check. Removal via banish as a quick effect? Check. Being able to bring back all it's materials to set up for either another Dragon Buster or a Rank 4, while also dodging all forms of targeted removal? Check. Oh, and having an amazing Field Spell that makes the whole deck lightning fast? Super Check. Seriously, any 2 of these would make for a solid deck, all 4? Yeah, it's messed up. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9YWFgouaBY Also how's the deck in this video? any advice for it |

This site's got guides for a lot of the more popular archtype's in the game, it's helped a lot when I'm making decks on ygopro. |
And traded my 30 dollar raigeki for a complete lunalights set plus extras, hope that was smart, if anything ill be able to play now
|
Define complete set here? Like, just all the monsters or ALL the Lunalights, S/T's included?
...I'm not sure it's the BEST deal, especially if that was your only copy of Raigeki, but it's probably a good base for the deck. |
