Anyone here collect the TCG? I have a bit of an obsession with holo and EX cards.
|
Not since I was younger. Think the last ones I ever got was for Christmas just after Ruby/Sapphire came out. Was a water deck with Swampert at the front =]
But yeah loved collecting them as a kid, never played it though, other than the GBC game =p My friends and I were into The Yugioh TCG more, used to play that all the time... Probably the reason it got banned in our school =p Theres some damn nice looking cards though. I've not checked any of the B/W cards out, but I know there was some awesome looking cards in the D/P series. |

Just won the shiny Dratini on White 2 :D Not sure whether to evolve it or not, because it looks pretty kickass in purple.

My photos don't do them justice, because they look way, way, way better in real life. Nevertheless these are the best of my small collection: http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/1240/page1vc.jpg http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/4721/page2xog.jpg I just love them. A friend of mine said that we've become like magpies attracted to shiny objects. :) Disclaimer: The bottom two Espeon and Pikachu are not Black and White cards. Quote:

The only card I ever had was an ancient mew from the movie theater. It's probably decomposing in the dirt somewhere...gosh...remember when stuff like that ended up in theaters? Man...those were the days.
|
I had a Beedrill deck. It's probably in a box hiding in a larger box.
|
wow they look sweet comicguy, particularly like the 3D effect ones. Might have to buy a booster for a nostalgia kick next time i pop into a TRU.
|
Anyone out there with a Magmarizer want to help me evolve my Magmar?

New X and Y info should be due any time now in the new Coro Coro. Pokemon smash at the weekend is supposedly going to feature some info, most likely a video of the screen shots in the Coro magazine =]
I'd be really happy just seeing a few more new pokemon or some clarification on the player, if he's customisable... |

This is probably a fake (Magazine scans released this early on usually are), but still, possible Eeveelution. |

I'm desperate for this one to be fake, personally.
It's so hopelessly bland and boring... |

If the bug type Eevee isn't part beetle I'm suing Pokemon.

Nice full art cards! Jealous.
I think the new Eevee form looks neat. All of them up to now have been quite minimal. It would be weird for them to start complicating the designs. Plus, it has a bow tie. Bow ties are cool. |
It's not a bow tie; there's several of those bows all over it.
I really can't tell what type it is at all. First thought was it's an actual evolution, not your normal Eeveelution. The other is bug... the bows look like butterfly wings. Maybe? |
If the male version has the bow tie and the one on its head turns into a fez then that woukd be pure win =p
On a seriousness note, I like it, it's okay.. I guess. Never been a massive Eevee fan anyway. |

It's real. |
Ugly Eeveelution is ugly. But I've liked pretty much all of them apart from Glaceon so far, so I guess its no huge loss.

Oh well. Not all Pokemon are winners. |
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's real. It's on Bulbapedia now too. Stuff is usually not posted there unless it's legit. Or it's specifically labeled fake. Like that one picture of the bird and bug Pokémon from a couple of weeks ago.

I don't think the new Eeveelution is too bad, I believe it will grow on me just like Oshawott did. I'm actually interested in the specultion that there's a new "Light" type that people say this Eeveelution is. A post on Tumblr was saying that the Light type could retroactively be added to all "nice" Pokémon like Chansey and Audino. I'm still not believing it, but it could make for an interesting new game mechanic. |
Can anyone trade me an abra and bagon?!

Fuck Black 2 and White 2.
Those games put so much emphasis on story it assumed the players were complete idiots who couldn't figure out anything remotely similar to a puzzle. There was nothing to find, because everything with any sort of mild importance was literally given to you. The game would literally stop you, have Bianca, Cheren, Bianca, Bianca, or someone else run into you, give you the next important item, and then run away. There was nothing to do outside of the story. Everything existed to get you from point A to point B, with nothing else but obstacles to stop you. If THIS is the kind of Pokemon everyone wants, with so much emphasis on telling a (Needlessly melodramatic) story that it assumes the most difficult puzzle allowed for a player is the ice sliding puzzle, that there can be no deviations beyond the main story, then I might have to be leaving soon. Track down legendaries like the birds, beasts, golems, or fairies? Nah. They're just thrown at you as checkpoints for that specific section. Deviate from the Team [Whatever] group plot to do such things as participate in a mini-tournament, play in Contests, or catch an elusive Pokemon? Nope. Everything that occurs in this game is influenced by Plasma. Do ANYTHING that strays from the infinite hallway? Nope. You gotta beat the game first before you're allowed to do anything else. I had to play through this entire game with a team of Fighting types just to make it more interesting. |

I liked Black 2. I used the Memory link to tie in the story with my friend's White ver. which was interesting.
Hunting for N's Pokemon now. So they were experimenting with a deeper plot in a long line of over-used tropes. I can forgive them for that. I hated the designs for most of the Unova Pokemon too, then I met Gigalith, Darmitan, Bisharp and Hydreigon and all was forgiven. |
I liked White.
It was fun. B2/W2, on the other hand, was the epitome of "Dumbed down." As for design, it's par for the course. I liked them no better nor worse than I liked, say, Gen 1 or 3. |
