Hype level has broken the meter.

As a guy whose been a fan most of his life, and whose only rare gripe has been about casting, I am very, very, excited about this. And as for that old "hype meter".... Screw it. The I've gone and installed a newer model. Should be able to gauge levels of hype and expectations. Being as how high mine are right now.

I was beyond excited for this movie before the trailer now I'm beyond beyond excited for this movie now. It looks fantastic.

I got my ticket online with no problem. I haven't seen any of the trailers since the first trailer from last year. I want to be surprise by the movie since I've been avoiding all of the news and spoilers for the movie.

I'm avoiding the trailer as I don't want to be spoiled, but I'm pretty disappointment in my Alamo Drafthouse. The one time I want to get tickets early for an upcoming movie (SW obviously) and the site hasn't worked in 4 hours.

That trailer completely took my breath away. I had to really try not to cry while watching this :lol

This looks like everything I wanted the new Star Wars to be.

What can I say? Psyched and tickets bought! :D

Well so much for that. My Drathouse's site is working again and the only seats still available for the Thursday and Friday times are at the very front row of the theater. **** THAT!! We'll just walk into an AMC on that Friday morning and see it by ourselves without this bs hassle and then see it again with our friends another day. The one time I want to tickets to a movie on the day they go up and I get screwed.

Three trailers in and I still feel nothing for Force Awakens. Not sure if I'll even see it.


Maybe I'm old and jaded. or maybe its the knowledge that this is being made by a complete and utter hack...

I remember when it was announced years ago and now we're so close to it.

The hype is so thick where i work I could cut it with a knife.,....had to fight really hard to not make the obvious lightsaber joke...This is made better by the fact that my son is going as Yoda for halloween XD

Booked my tickets for midnight showing payed for two and mine was free due to I was a cineworld unlimited customer

Man I'm still really mad at myself for not just driving to a dang theater and wasting so much of my time last night.

But I did get tickets! :D Saturday at an 8:30 showing at the exact Drafthouse I wanted.

Sucks that I didn't get an email confirmation as extra insurance, but according to them, it showing up in my purchases in the app (with a screenshot of that page because why not) should be enough.

I got tickets and I can't wait to see it.

How is that a bad thing? With how much trailers spoil these days, I hate watching them. I want to see the movie, not be told the movie in the trailer.

Overheard the latest trailer over at work yesterday.

I'm with Paladin on this one; Star Wars just isn't my thing anymore and having to be bombarded with everything Star Wars only makes me hate this more. I'll be glad when this movie's hype dies down because having to hear about it all the time sucks.

Well I guess you aren't prepared for the now annual hype that will be in place then. :lol Considering there's one new movie scheduled to be out every year for the next 6. After all Rogue One is out next year, then episode VIII the following year, etc etc.

Honestly it does nothing but excite me more and more to see al the media attention and promotion. It's gets me even more pumped to see it. Even fighting to buy tickets had me excited. I was mad about how difficult it was until I got some decent seats and kind of got a rush from it. It was kind of like the rush of hunting for new toys.

Ugh now I'm reading things from people saying they've gotten charged or got confirmation then checked with the Drafthouse and they have no record of their tickets (and I don't even have those two things!). Got me worried now and I can't fucking get through to the bloody place when I call. Nobody will answer.. And they've done this to me before months ago when I had a ticketing concern. Just don't get how nobody can be checking the phone.

Edit: Finally... fiiinally got through to somebody. He said my booking is in their system. Only odd thing I still find is that they say it's marked as "paid" so... That's weird. Hopefully it still works out. All I know is that at this point in time, I am showing up at the theater on that day and you better damn believe I'm seeing that movie somehow.

Nah we just went to Target for the costume and WalMart to find a Yoda Lightsaber....Spent 15 dollars on a freakin Nerf feeling Yoda Lightsaber for accuracy....curse my need for accuracy and cosplay centered mind XD

Well I ended up seeing the trailer since one of my friends started to spoil it and it was freaking awesome. It didn't tell me about the movie, which was nice, but it showed some truly impressive shots with really great dialog thrown in. I am definitely excited for this movie a lot more than I was before. Not just that, but oh my god Kylo looks so damn badass in the scenes he was in. I pray to the gods he is not Luke in disguise because that would be the biggest cop out since DC making Barbara walk again. The effects looked great and the music was just amazing. I am hyped!!

I read the first volume of Marvels current Star Wars book and its really fun. First time that I'm really interested in expanded universe stuff :lol

Darth Vader is pretty fun, but the main SW title felt like it was trying to cram too many things at once. The Force Awakens prequels of sorts was solid, if largely irrelevant.
How did the others fare?

I love Darth Vader's series. Chewbacca's been fun so far. I haven't read anything else except for the Force Awakens Prequel which was excellent.

I heard mostly good things about it. I didnt really get the sense that they crammed too much into the Star Wars title. At least not yet. I really like how they are doing the revelation of Vader learning that Luke is his son.

The thing is, just because he plays Kylo does not make him the character. Remember, three people played Vader.

Fortunately though, Hamill swears that Kylo and Luke are not the same person. But then again, Rocksteady promised that Arkham Knight and Jason Todd were not the same person either.

...Wouldn't Luke being Kylo defeat the whole purpose of ROTJ?

We already got on set pictures of him without his helmet during filming. Adam Driver is Kylo Ren. The Luke = Kylo thing is just a stupid theory especially since Kylo Ren does not have remotely the same body structure as Mark Hamil.

What are you going on about? He clearly has the helmet off in the trailer AND there are shots from footage seen in the Vanity Fair exclusive months ago that show him without the helmet. Why people even act like Luke as Kylo is a possibility is beyond me. He clearly can not be him.

And we saw him fighting Finn in the new trailer without his helmet and that was clearly Adam Driver.

I guess my main issue is that SW started out with a very simple mission then boom, Vader, boom, Obi Wan, boom, chaos.
It's hard to explain. :lol

I guess it mostly comes from people that've seen the trailers and nothing else.

And thats exactly what I liked about it :lol

Yeah, a lot of people liked how the whole cast was in from the start, guess I'm the odd one. :lol
