Now that Nightwing has "died" and become Grayson, I had a thought. What if Stephanie, or Cassandra, or Kate, become a new female Nightwing? Tim I love has Red Robin (Especially with the Wings) and Jason is so much better has Red Hood. I'd love to see one of the women step-up and put on the old NW uniform.

Eh, I enjoyed Man of Steel and Zack Snyder's comic-to-film success ratio is still more hits than misses. The only thing that concerns me is how fast its supposedly coming out after Batman vs Superman, but I fully expect that to be pushed back.

I think the heroes will be the least of the movie's problems. The biggest problem is how DC just thinks they can do a JL movie without any build up. The reason The Avengers worked well is because Marvel took their time to build up their characters. DC has no idea what the hell they want but they also don't want to let the people who know how to write, write them. If WB would let Bruce Timm and gang write the movies they would turn out great. However, WB would rather let some lowlife hack who has no idea what a comic book is even if it bit him in the ass give us garbage like Jonah Hex. JONAH HEX!! The one character that could have had his movie ripped straight out of Unforgiven/Tombstone/True Gritt/3:10 to Yuma/TGTBTU and it would have been one of the best comic book movies of all time. Instead, they made up their own crap that has nothing to even do with the time period. Not to mention giving Hex super powers.

I'm not really sure if WB should attempt something of this scale without a proper plan. It's better to have a really good superhero franchise, even if it's just one hero, than to rush huge team-ups that may not work.

I think Superman should have been better built up as a character first, and given at least one more movie.

Its just sad that you can tell how WB and DC are just throwing this together just so they can compete with Marvel.

They are always saying "We have a plan, we have a plan." but the truth is they dont have one. This whole DC Cinematic Universe is a giant trainwreck and I just find it laughable that someone like Zack Snyder is directing every damn movie in that franchise.

What made the Marvel Movies great is that they all feel different and yet similiar. Just making a bunch of dark and moody movies with alot of slow-mo is just going to end up being a borefest.

I think the whole problem is that there isn't a DC cinematic universe to begin with, let alone one to become a train wreck :lol

Like I said earlier I'm fine with Zack Synder directing because I think he has a flare suited to big budget comic movies, but yes much more build up was needed. A second solo Superman film would have worked to Man of Steel's benefit as well as a wider universe. It could have given proper resolution to all the destruction in MoS and then had the character properly evolve from a superhuman alien that didn't fit in into the planet's champion etc.

So far the only DC universe I´m at all interested in is the current TV Universe with Arrow and the soon to air Flash show :lol

Marvel's Cinematic Universe took at least 3-4 years in the making, from Iron Man in 2008 until Thor in 2011 (if you don't count Avengers). They took it slow to develop it and like you said, the movies are varied and encompass different genres. Thor does fantasy, Cap does period action and political thriller, etc.

Actually I think it's fine if they jumped straight in in the beginning with a Justice League movie. But they chose to start with Superman, so they need to develop him properly.

If the quality of the TV universe turns out as well as the second season of Arrow has, I'm all for DC putting their best efforts into that. Especially since it'll mean more focus on the characters that will inevitably not make it into the movies.

But what if...gasp...they cancel the shows in order to put the characters into the movies? :lol

Yeah I dont think they will do something like this ever again. We got the League of Assassins in Arrow and the Gotham show will have a ton of Batman villains.

Anyway, didn't the Bat embargo have to do with the fact The Batman was airing as well? It wasn't just solely because of the movies.

Personally I love a lot of the Marvel movies but everyone loves Avengers because all the characters came together in it. For hardcore fans it's awesome that the universe had a slow build to it but honestly the reverse can work too. My friend saw Avengers first and then watched all the movies that came before it afterwards.

Honestly with everything Superman has been in for the last I dunno how many decades people know Superman they don't have to dedicate a whole movie on developing him. They need to build up everyone else even the smallest action can show development of a character. (For example in Kamen Rider Gaim; When Zack first transformed into Knuckle; just how he acted and gave up what he wanted to do to protect people and his heroic nature made him my favorite character of the series more than everyone else on the show. Another example is in Avengers; Hawkeye barely had screen time in the movie and he was my favorite character just by how he was in the final battle.) So just one bit of action is all it really takes for all the characters in Batman Vs Superman and into Justice League.

The difference with Avengers is though that they didnt introduce those characters in the Avengers. They all got there introductions in other movies beforehand. Batman VS Superman feat. Wonder Womand guest starring Cyborg has to introduce three major characters plus Lex Luthor and JLA will have to do this with even more characters.

Avengers was good because they could just go ahead and tell a fun story with those characters without telling you who they are and were they come from.

DC should just stick to live action shows, it is what they are good at in the live action realm. Marvel has shown they cannot do a live action series for crap.

Justice league animated serise says hi. If they just adapt origin from that show they do fine

I'll admit, DC is not making the best decisions, (especially with the rate at which they're publishing their trades,) but I enjoyed Man of Steel. expected a pretentious Superman, I wanted a pretentious Superman movie, and I got a pretentious Superman movie.

At the very least, the Justice League movie will be a bit more entertaining than the first two arcs of the Marvel NOW! Avengers comic.

Got a hold on the first issue of the new Secret Origins title and...I am so glad I didnt spend 4.99 on this.

I´m really dissapointed in this title. They are really just rehashing what anyone familiar with these characters already knows. Instead of giving us context how these origins fit in the N52 universe they just tell the same origin we already knew.
