I finally broke down and sat down to watch the first season of The Walking Dead on Blu-Ray. It was only 13 bucks so I said why not and its an alright show so far. I dont get yet why that show gets so much hype but it caught my interest enough to check out the second season once the Blu-Ray drops in price.
I also bought the first season of House of Cards after everyone went nuts about this show last year and I can easily see why. That thing is pure gold and Francis Underwood is slowly turning into my favourite Kevin Spacey performance. |
We have been watching Breaking Bad over the past two weeks and finished the third season last night. It is a really great show. No where near the best show ever, but it is definitely an amazing series.

Boy Meets World. Best sitcom ever!!!

Finished the first season of House of Cards and it was a great ride. Especially the last Episodes involving Russos downfall were pretty spectacular. The new status quo that is forming for the second season also looks very promising and I cant wait for that to hit Blu-Ray next month.

Rewatching the 2013 Drama Kazoku Game(Family Game) after a year and I have to say it is as brilliant as I remember. Both as a show and a social commentary.
Kazoku Game is adapted and updated from the novel of the same name. The Numata family hires private tutor Yoshimoto to tutor their youngest son, who is in the bottom 5% of his class and hasn't been going to school for weeks. To outside observers they are the perfect family, with a big house, hardworking father, beautiful and caring mother and honor student son. The only problem is the youngest, but that's wrong. The whole family is flawed. Which you find out more and more as the show progresses. Now that I know the plot I can focus more on the Mise-en-scène and sound editing and how much can be said without a word. Like how the Numata house house has lots of expensive looking furniture but it's space out and has no personal belongings in the living room/kitchen area, like it is just a showroom. Hinting to the audience before showing it to them how much appearance matters to the family. The only exception are the awards that the oldest son Shinichi recieved in a sort of shrine the camera shows behind the parents in the awkwardly/creepy silent scene(no BGM) of them sitting in the living room with Yoshimoto waiting for him to say something for the family interview to start. The first sign that the Numata parents Shinichi's importance to them is like the house, just something to show off to others. I could go on for a lot longer but I'll just end for now saying that if you ever want to try watching a Jdrama I'd recommend trying this. And that Yoshimoto can be really creepy and the mysteries around him just keep getting bigger. |
Well we just finished the series about 20 minutes ago, and while I'm still processing my overall feelings of the show, the last 8 episodes were nothing short of fantastic. Jesse just ends up having the worst luck no matter how you slice it, but I really think there should have been at least something about Andrea's death in the newspapers Walt was reading since she was a pretty important character to Jesse. That aside, the finale took me into the realm of the unexpected as it was not completely predictable and I am thankful for that. Like I said, I am not sure what my overall feelings of the show are right now, as I need time to process everything, but no matter what, it was definitely a damn good show and one worth seeing for sure. I'm glad I waited until now to watch it as I did not have to wait months on end to see the next season start.

So the Simpsons/Family Guy cross over was actually quite enjoyable. Sure, the fight was down right stupid and dragged on for way too long, but I absolutely loved the court room scene (especially the James Woods stuff) and the joke about carrying Bob's Burgers was hilarious. Watching Clevland in the other plane was just priceless. That joke was easily the best joke of the entire episode. Oh, the car wash scene was crap too though. Other than that, I applaud that they did a nice job with this crossover. Oh, and the Kodos, Kang, and Roger moment was awesome.
|
Well, Arrow is certainly back. Not a bad premiere by any means and I can't wait to see how the season plays out.
|
The first episode of Flash was freaking awesome. Why do I have to wait until next week for the next episode? Can't they just give me the whole season now?
|
So we just watched the first two episodes to this season of American Horror Story and I have to say that they flat out sucked. This is worse than Asylum as at least that show had a few interesting characters despite it being a convoluted mess. So far, the only thing horror-esque of the show is Jessica Lange's accent. My god, did she forget how to act when they were filming this thing? It is bad enough that she seems to mumble more than speak. The only positive I can say about the show is the clown dude is awesome, but he is hardly even in the damn show. I'm about ready to skip this season and hope they actually remember how they made Murder House so good next year.

Star Trek DS9 Season 4, episode 1:
So, I've been meaning to get into Star Trek, so last year I asked a classmate of mine where to start, and she asked me "Do you want just people talking or something more actiony?" I told her I wanted something more action, so she told me to watch DS9 season 4, and I liked it. I'm glad that I could just jump in here without watching the first 3 seasons and not feel lost at all, yeah I'd get to see Ben's late wife and stuff, but it doesn't seem like I'll need to. I found all the characters to be likeable, except Galron, he's rather hot headed, but I guess that's the Klingon way, huh? Before this I just thought the Klingon just liked to fight all the time, and that was it. However, seeing this...wow their culture is complex! Some of the acting was a tad off, but that could get better over time, I'll just have to see. Worf is an interesting guy as well, I like the story of his struggle between his people and his duty as a Star fleet member. Speaking of Worf...he's from TNG right? I didn't know that this was a direct sequel to TNG. Ben's pretty cool as well, I look forward to seeing more of him. So, yeah. My first impressions of a Star Trek anything are positive, and I look forward to watching more of DS9! :D |
I finally watched the first two episodes to Rebels and I like it so far. The scene with Vader in episode 1 was cool even if pointless and I like the new characters, especially the demolitions girl. My complaint is how worthless the Stormtroopers are. For the most part, the animation is good (at least as good as CGI can be), but the Wookies looked terrible and I don't like how C3PO did not look the least bit dirty. Space Aladdin is a cool main character even if he is cliche, but overall, I am enjoying it and look forward to watching the next set of episodes.

Does Netflix count? If it does, I am rewatching RPM and it's probably my favorite season so far. I'm on the episode when Tenaya finds out that Dillion is her brother.
|
Catching up on last night's TV. Agents of SHIELD was pretty good, it's really found its stride this season. Supernatural was enjoyable, too. I love a Jody Mills episode. I'm ready for her spinoff now, with Donna Hanscum in tow. And now on to The Flash! So excited!

Rewatched the first episode of Zoey 101 yesterday to evaluate my childhood nostalgia. And yeah.... this show is okay.....
Asides from the fact that its utterly ridiculous premise of 13 year olds being able to handle the responsiblity of a college like school structure that I don't think even most 18 year olds can handle doesn't hold water, the acting is okay and the girls... I don't think they are very realistically acted. |

Well... I just discovered this thread. :lol
Anyways, I've been watching constant marathon of old Disney shows like House of Mouse, The Proud Family, Lilo and Stitch, That's So Raven and my most loved series... Kim Possible. These are the shows that I have loved and cherished for a long time. And I love every single character from each series, especially Raven, Kim Possible, Stitch and Eddie. :D |

Drake and Josh definitely was the better show, but I never really got the feeling they we're acting realistically. Everybody seemed like your generic stereotype. Mind you they were entertaining, but it never captured the feeling of a real teenager to me.
|
Wasn't there another TEEN Nick show around that time in the same style of Zoey 101 that no one remembered?

Star Trek DS9 Season 4 Episode 2: Those are some serious time travel shenanigans. It was a rather sad story, that "hit me in the feels" if you will. I felt really bad for Jake, and how his life turned out. The time travel aspects were very interesting, and overall it was a nice episode, even though it was very filler-y.

D-4 days until Gaki No Tsukai's annual year-end Do Not Laugh 24-hours series. Rumor has it it will be "Do Not Laugh Prison".

Breaking Bad
Finally sat down and watched the show in about a week and was absolutely blown away by it. I dont think I have ever seen a show with such a tight narrative. Pretty much every character in this has a complete storyarc and none of them feel unimportant to the overall story. Walter White and Jesse Pinkman are just such interesting and compelling characters to watch and I could talk about them for hours. The show had me at the edge of my seat from beginning to end. |

We watched it for the first time in August and finished it on Labor day. It was quite good, but not the awesome everyone was making it out to be. However, suddenly about two months later I really got to thinking about the show and had this sudden urge to watch it again, but was busy with Dragon Ball. Then Amazon put the show on sale a few weeks ago for $99 and with the start of Better Call Saul, I bought it and we just finished Season 3 yesterday. My god, yes, this show is absolutely amazing and one of the best TV shows of all time. I don't know where you are, but Saul and Gus are my favorite characters. BTW, Better Call Saul has been almost as good too. |
I finished the show on saturday night. Gus is simply one of the best villains out there. He is so incredibly calculating and menacing.
|
Better Call Saul has been simply great so far as far as I'm concerned.
