Starting on something to increase my bravery. I figured since Illinois now has conceal and carry, I shouldn't be going out unarmed.

I wanted to start on my jacket today and planned to re-use my pattern for Ran... but instead of starting, I spend most of the time looking for the right pattern, because I stuffed the one I needed in another bag of fabric leftovers back in november....

after seeing a pic here on the board, I had to go out and find some material and do this myself. It's so much better now.

So I was on a roll today. Everything went smoothly, I just had to sew on the sleeves- and they were like: NOPE. So after a lot of unnecessary rage about sleeves, I decided to move on for now and try it again later.

I did sew all of it myself (even the belt) and also painted the patch on the left sleeve.

Do you have any recommendations on what kind of shirt to modify for a similar coat?

Wouldn't it be easier to look for an actual coat that looks similar to what you want to do?

Actually, no. I did look, but everything was way out of my price range. Even then, there would be something about it that wasn't quite right (most often the color).

Phew, I guess it'd be hard to get a suitable shirt, because the fabric should be a heavy, tough kind of fabric. I don't think there's shirts with that quality :/

I was Super Saiyan Goku for Halloween one year, going to a con as L (Death Note) in a few weeks. I really wanted to be either the Winter Soldier (Captain America) or Char Aznable (Gundam) but I don't really have access to what I would need to make those

Starting work on my Team OOO Beat Rider cosplay. Gonna get the iron-on decals tomorrow, but you can probably see what I went with so far >_<

I got my custom Tokusatsu un-transformed cosplay finished, gonna be using my actual cellphone as my henshin device, made my own sentai, it's called Genji Sentai Goryuger aka Dino Squadron NUMBER FOUR :lol. Name of character: Renji Oshimura, Goryuger title: Roaring Tyranno Warrior Goryuger Red, Henshin device: Genji Dino Phone, Tyranno Model, Weapons: Goryu Blast Saber, Genji Tyranno Lance, Hyper Tyranno Mode.

I so badly want you to horrible toku dance when it's finished :lol
