I like the idea, and it work on the pink zord, references enough while being it's own thing.
But no clue what the red one is.

It looks like a T-rex folded up into some sort of gunship.

It has a jaw of sorts... and that's it really.

The top view shows a vague T-rex back, including what looks like a tail sunk in itself. The "wings" kind of look like folded-up legs.

I like the designs well enough in and of themselves, but not so much as Zords. They don't really resemble the Zords at all and I doubt I would guess that's what they are if I just saw the images with no other information. It just looks like its fallen into the trap so many movie adaptations fall into where they try to make source material designs "realistic," which often translates into bland and generic. I would have preferred for them to just embrace the whole "giant mechanical dinosaur" concept and go crazy with it, but it doesn't look like we'll be getting that. That being said, I'm glad to see that they're at least remaining brightly colored and not going with the usual aspect of this trend where they just make everything black. Obviously this is early concept work so it could change significantly, so it'll be interesting to see how much the final designs resemble this.

I love what I'm seeing. I want more of what I'm seeing.

At the moment I'm incredibly indifferent.

I'm interested because the designs should make interesting toys (especially when combined) but picturing those onscreen just feels bland/safe.

Guess we'll see how it all turns out!

If real, I definitely don't care for the direction the movie is going in. Is this Jetman or MMPR? It looks as bland as the ultra "realistic" looking Transformers from the Bay movies, why do they look like slightly stylized modern military vehicles rather than ancient robots? I'm all for a reimaginings, but I'd at least like to see them stick to some of the concepts and ideas that make the series what it is and not completely throw those out the window like other movie reboots.

I'm terrified of what their suits will look like if this is the mecha.

Am I the only one getting a Gridman/Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad vibe off the red zord? If if can 'morph' between T-rex and Jet mode, it will totally be Drago 2.0 and I'm okay with that.

To be honest before I checked again the red one looked exactly like a early design of the pink zord to me.

Oh well, the designs look okay, didn't scream Power Rangers to me, but I don't mind. This is what's going to appeal to the average audience, who's not into the show, but wants a cool movie, this will get them in. Like the Transformers movies.

At the request of Lionsgate we (and many many other sites) have had to pull the images entirely.

Truth be told, I only realized there was a red one because it was pointed out.

If you merely read 2 posts above you you'd note where I said Lionsgate has forced the removal of these images from all sites hosting them. They were up for quite a while yesterday and the call to remove them came over night. I'm surprised they let us go for as long as they did honestly.

They're just jets with vaguely dinosaur-y shapes, posssibly have dinosaur 'modes' in addition to just generic spaceship-looking forms. We only saw the pink and red zords. Totally bland, typical hollywood overdetailed machinery. The most exciting part is that they are at least the correct primary colours, but you could mistake them for being alien/hi-tech vehicles out of Marvel or Transformers or something.

Well it's glad to finally see confirmation that Dean Israelite is the director. Fingers crossed he does a great job!

Well at least they're being honest about finding a time their movie can "win". No way it can stand up to next year's Summer line-up. And they're right, good movies don't only happen during one specific time of the year. Let's hope things get done properly from here on out.

It's a big budget movie coming out in January, I don't see this movie doing that great now. My hopes drop after they move the movie to January. At least a March or April release day may have worked.

I understand the movie. I wouldn't want to come out during the summer either, you'd have to go against every Marvel movie coming out.

That's why a Spring 2017 release date would work better. Besides Cloverfield, Rambo 4 and The Green Hornet, what blockbusters come out in January? January is the worst spot for movies to be released on.

Depending on what you call a blockbuster since the movie did had a big budget and they where trying to make that movie into a big hit. The movie fell short on what Sony hoped for and a sequel never got a made.

January is a "dump month" for movies. It's period when studios usually release films that they know aren't going to be very successfully from a critical or commercial standpoint. January/February and August/September are basically the gulfs between summer blockbuster season and end-of-year awards bait season when studios just throw out whatever crap they have lying around that they don't want to waste time on during the busy season. It is very much a bad sign that the PR movie is already scheduled for one of these time frames. It pretty much implies that the studio has very little faith in this movie.

That didn't really tell me anything, honestly. It sounds like every interview ever, since he's not allowed to disclose any info, he just gave generic answers...

If nothing else, it sounds like he's excited to be working on the movie, and that is definitely some good news.

I guess he means the movie will be serious, but still be fun similar how the Marvel movies, recent Star Trek movies and the new Planer of the Apes movie. Hopefully that means the movie won't be dark and gritty like the Nolan Batman movies.

So since Saban can't run a franchise to save his own pride it's pretty much going to be all over the place tone wise.

It's a vauge statement but regardless of what they can reveal right now it doesn't give me hope that this could be a good movie. Or one you can laugh at how terribly awfully funny it turned out to be.

It may appear he doesn't have much to say yet, because he can't say much. It's still extremely early in the stages of the movie. I'm sure we'll get more news before the year is over.

As of right now, I'm still quite optimistic.

I don't know what people are expecting him to say so early on in production. By the sounds of it they've just barely started the casting process. At this point any news about things moving forward, even just a little bit, is good news.

Honestly, my only real worry about this movie atm (besides the inevitably dissapointing Bandai that is), is that Lionsgate is the big company behind this. I can't remember the last movie they did that was full of CGI. They're busy with Pacific Rim and Godzilla, but I really feal like Legendary would have been a more comforting company if they could have gotten them.

I may be biased because of the Transformers movies, but the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear "mature but playful" is an actress bending over to show cleavage while two dogs hump in the background.
