I think it would be an interesting concept for some of the Extinct "generals" to have a herbivore mindset, and others to have a carnivore mindset. It might cause disagreement and conflict among their ranks as to how they want to go about their domination. That said, I don't think they should be split in to factions like that.
My original idea for the Extinct functionally was that at first (if you think about how Kamen Rider always has the biggest budget in the first handful of episodes) the "generals" would try reanimating entire Dinosaur skeletons to serve them as they did in prehistoric times. Then after Paleo powers up and starts to easily eliminate them, the Extinct move on to experiment further with their powers. They would steal fossils and transmute them in to more powerful kaijin with enhanced abilities based on the traits of the Dinosaur that they came from. As far as looks go, I've imagined them stylistically skeletal. Nowhere near bare bones or anatomically accurate, but a dry bones theme - similar to how all of the Fangires had a stained glass theme in Kiva. |
Well in obvious fashion we could make the lead villain a T-Rex or we could have a little fun and have the lead Villain be something like a Velociraptor or a Carnotaurus
Let's make the grunts, generic fossil monsters. The generals could be more complex. There could be a carnivore fossil general, a herbivore fossil, and one or two more. Each general's "monster of the week" will be carnivore, herbivore, etc. depending on the general. The boss will be a fusion of dinosaur fossils. The generals and boss will later on achieve the ability to upgrade into live do dinosaur monsters.

Also, why don't we give this topic a bit more time to breath than usual. I feel like we've gotten in to a habit of proposing an idea and then immediately concluding it after only one or two suggestions. |
I agree with Rollout. Villains and the such are going to be a lengthy process. So will the Rider(s) info and stuff. None of us are going anywhere any time soon. So lets take our time and make sure we get this right so it can properly represent Tokunation.

we should stick to actual dinosaurs. like the carcharodontosaurous. which is kind of like a big T-Rex. |

we shouldn't just steal from Jurassic World though...
Then I propose that we literally make a dinosaur fusion. We go about it like PuToTyra. Have the main body like one type of dinosaur, the legs/arms of another, tail, and wings.
we could probably do that as the final villain, because fusioned creatures usually are those kinds of monsters best suited for final bosses.
... I was joking...
I spend a week camping and come home to find a dinosaur themed rider for my favorite Toku site. You guys are awesome!

You're welcome Omega!
I wanted the final boss to have the powers of all dinosaurs so I thought a fusion would have been best for that.
like, have it be one of the weaker herbivores that's like "fuck it, I'm taking all the powers even if it turns me into some big monster mash. I don't even care anymore."
Or just make an enemy general for every famous dinosaur then have the hero gain new forms for beating them...like megaman
Anyway are we going for a magical or scientific approach for everything? |

That poses a good question that needs to be answered right now. Because depending on which one it is will let us know which route we should take with the villains and Rider(s). |
I think we're going ancient magic.
i mean there was a Shaman in Ray's backstory. so I would probably assume its like... ancient magic and a little bit of modern tech touch? and we can't give him too many powers. don't make the guy bloated with one off weapons and abilities. |
Okay. Helios! I think we should just do a quick consensus, no poll.
I was thinking Paleo should be technology, but the villains are magical. I'm fine with the whole thing being mystical though. Good idea to whoever brought up this question.
I like Tech-y riders myself, but I kinda like the Villains-are-magic-hero-is-technology approach a cool design touch
I was thinking it could be like Fourze, Ray's parents create the Paleo Driver (if that's what we're calling it), since they're scientists.
We can do both. I like the idea. Using Technology/Science to counteract/counterbalance Magic.
Lets drop the "Driver" term/name. Lets see if we can't use something else. |
I dunno. I would like it if the driver was made by a different team that had no direct affiliation to Ray's parents.
that way Ray could also have a base of operations and can get gadgets. |

How about it's a museum that Ray's parents work at and that museum develops his gear and acts as his base of operations.

Maybe a portion of the funding/profit the Museum gets is dedicated to Ray and stuff for the belt. |
It's funny how we got from villains to rider type to base of operations.
Since we're not talking about the villains anymore, did we agree on something?
So the belt and the rider is techy but the power source is magic.....like chachamaru
We never discussed power source and belt really. A lot of people were thinking it should be a tech rider fighting magical monsters.
Yeah but isn't the rider's power source often the same as that of the villain's I'm just pointing how that power will be used
we haven't decided how the powers work yet.
I've made a suggestion of how the system works, but nobody commented on it. |

Didn't I say something about that already?
I dunno, I think it'd be weird to have main access to the rider's parents.
This is just my idea, but what if the cards/stones/whatever could be used in two ways
1. Form (pretty obvious) 2. Augment (lets Paleo mutate his form to change his style i.e. T-rex form gets wings with the Pterodactyl item) |
Did we completely agree with the villains, because we keep on switching subjects, so I wanted to know if we were all good with that. I have a really good idea for the collectible device if we're ready for that.
