Probably a fake or something for ultra galaxy fight
|
Quote:
Kinda looks a little like Mebius. |
Fan art from the same person behind the Ultrawoman Kaguya "leaks".
|
Watched the infamous Hanuman vs 7 Ultraman film (Thai dub). It was bad... really bad. Watching it was torment.
|
Just got through this week's (obligatory) clip show with Deban.
First of all, I have no idea who Deban is! I haven't seen this guy before, but that doesn't mean anything. Much of the recent stuff gets focus, but also some curious details like the unresolved plot points involving the Devil Splinters from Z! Parallels are made between Trigger Dark and Evil Tiga, and the similarities between the Dark Giants of Trigger and the ones Tiga fought. This is a crash course in Tiga mythology if you haven't seen that series or its movies yet (and I admit that I haven't). It wasn't bad. It didn't seem all that necessary, but it wasn't bad. |

Rumours are suggesting that the next Ultra series will be a New Generation Dyna named Ultraman Decker. Other parts of the rumour include that it’ll be the same ‘verse as Trigger and that one of its monsters will be a fusion of Mountain Gulliver No. 5 and Deathfacer.
This comes from the same guy who leaked Trigger last year, so it has some credibility. |

But who knows, if the quality of the next how improves over Trigger I count care less what it is "remaking". |
That would be a... strange decision, if only because Dyna is generally disliked.
|
Trigger has been less than nothing to me, so if that is true then it'll be a good sign for me to step out of Ultra for good. It's been a good run, but now it's my turn to go 'swatch' and fly off...
|
I heard Ultraman Trigger was not good.

Regarding the recap with Deban: I'm guessing the Devil Splinters are either going to be something more explored in The Destined Crossroads, or it'll be a recurring plot device for more excuses to use classic Ultra Monsters (not that I mind returning Kaiju). It was pretty funny when Deban almost got possessed and the channel was interrupted, though I kind of wish there was an ad break at that very moment, if only to enhance the joke. All in all, just your typical recap episodes.
Regarding the "New Generation Dyna," or "Ultraman Decker" rumors: I've seen perhaps a small chunk of Tiga, and have yet to see Dyna (which I hear isn't well liked?), so this could be interesting. However, I hope they learn from Trigger, which isn't anything stellar, but still enjoyable nonetheless, since after all, Dyna's a psuedo-sequel to Tiga, this could work canonically, but I want it to be executed better if that's the case. I'll wait for the trademark and more info to drop before I delve into more of this New Generation Heisei Trilogy. And if he does end up being called "Decker," I want him to have cards for the gimmick. :lol |
Bandai has announced two new sets and I’m sorely tempted by what’s being offered (by which I mean the selection, not the fact that they have the theme songs and attack announcements for every Ultra in both sets).

No Grigio though :(

Eh, even without comparing it to Z I think Trigger has weak characterization and suffer in parts from being a Tiga speedrun. It's not unwatchable, but I'd put it on the lower end of the modern Ultra shows.
|
It's a shame because the kaiju fights by and large have been absolutely fantastic in the series, with some of the best toku cinematography of the New Generation era. You can tell this got a budget boost following the worldwide success of Z.
|
So, Ultraman Trigger New Generation Tiga will end in January next year. Any news on what date will it be for the finale before the Ultra Galaxy Fight?
|
Finally starting The☆Ultraman after many setbacks. As usual I'm making my live commentary on Twitter if anyone wants to read my cringe notes

Hudram is ready to make his move to nab Yuzare for himself, and he enlists Barriguiler to grab her with the promise of some tasty cosmic delicacies.
That was some neat effects on Barriguiler's eyes. I thought the team already knew about Yuna being Yuzare from the first episode where they mention Tiga. I love how Kengo and Akito are barely phased by seeing Ignis out of his cell. At this point he probably just keeps the handcuffs on for their sake. I also like how Ignis can see that Yuna can protect herself. And then he helps her get into the action and we find out how he's been getting to and from the base this whole time. That poor construction worker just trying to back up from a giant monster attacking... I love how Barriguiler blows into a room and the TV with the cute doggie is still left standing. If you've got to sumo, you've got to use Power Type. I love how Trigger laughs after he wins their match. Also I think this is the most internal narration Kengos' had as Trigger. I don't think anyone would want to get stuck in Barriguiler's belly button. Yuna makes Barriguiler realize that, even if he did get Cosmic Buns, it wouldn't matter because Hudram would use the Eternity Core to turn the universe dark, and Hudram then promptly betrays him. But Barriguiler and Trigger team-up to save Yuna and fight off Hudram. Circle Arms Scissor Form! Because that's still a thing! I'm slightly disappointed we didn't get to actually see Yuna fly a broom. So it turns out Barriguiler was a decent alien all along. I mean, he looks cutesy enough, so I guess it's okay (and hopefully he didn't really kill anyone, except maybe that construction worker). Looks like it's time Trigger and Trigger Dark to pull a Gaia and Agul to fight off Banila and Aboras next week. |
I just now realize all of Hudram's monsters have been blue. Guess now we know who to blame by the monsters' colors, eh?
Fun episode! Lots of great miniature work (R.I.P. Diggerman), Barriguiler has hilarious expressions, with a fun personality to boot, and a Sumo battle. That oni platypus monster is just such a fun monster (I need to stop saying fun multiple times in a single sentence). I love how Ignis is just wandering around freely, despite being in custody, and even after all this time, the Guebasser Feather is still relevant. And Yuna got to really shine this episode, even sending Barriguiler to the Showa Rainbow Dimensional Dungeon (I don't know what to call it). Next Episode: Aboras and Banilla, it's been a long time since they've appeared in anything. Also, most importantly, Trigger and Dark teaming up! |

Ribut, you done goofed. |
I'm glad Barriguiler didn't get blown up. He's a cool guy.
I liked this a lot. There were so many cool shots and miniature stuff! The view of the fight from a passing train, Barriguiler blowing someone's furniture away by snorting, that little red car spinning out. It's just fun to watch. Trigger laughing is weird. I like that Ignis has gone from being a prisoner to just... a guy that hangs out with GUTS-Select. |

Studio Trigger protag Ultraman.
Consider me interested. |
Gurihiru getting their own Geed based comic, especially after seeing all their fanart for Geed when they were watching it, is very wholesome!
|
Any chance they've said how it's gonna be distributed?
|
-There it is. The Specium Ray! Also, the CG looks improved from last time we saw them, which is great.
-I was wondering if they were still doing those movies, which to be honest, I thought they'd do a crossover with Tiga, and Z being an extra guest. Still happy with this. -Please Netflix. Don't botch this one. -While I have my gripes with Season 1, I did like it, so hopefully they do this one justice. -Was not expecting this, but I'm not complaining, since it looks fantastic! Wonder what this Ultraman looks like, unless it's Riku/Geed, then I'm a fool. Also, since nobody's talking about it here's this (Since it's still Tsuburaya related): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98IaKCAkij0 Honestly, this is the best 3DCG Animation I've seen from Japan, so I'm very interested in seeing how this turns out. Lots of Ultraman goodies to look forward to, and I'm all for it! |
Is Mother Gene actually Studio Trigger?
Edit: LOL I read it as Mother Gene. It's Another Gene. Good typography saves lives ya'll! |

Oh no Decker is real...
Well, here's hoping they learned from Trigger because I seriously want this new one to be good. |

Okay, so Decker really is the next Ultraman entry. And since it's almost all but confirmed that this will be a New Generation Dyna, here's hoping they improve over Trigger, though if not, at the very least it'll be a fun watch.
Now here's hoping his gimmick will be card based to complete the name.:lolol And to really bring the jokes home, who wants to bet New Generation Gaia will be called something like Ultraman Gamer, who uses a Nintendo Switch to transform.:lolol Quote:

Dat Ultra Beam.
I'm glad Trigger is getting a movie, and they're featuring Z since he didn't get a movie...even if he is getting brainwashed. I wonder if the evil Trigger is Captain Tatsumi or the real villain? I feel like the stuff with Tatsumi is just a red herring. Also Ignis is still Trigger Dark! Gurihiru doing an Ultraman comic about Geed is a nice surprise. Ultraman Decker: New Generation Dyna? See you in 2023 for New Generation Gaia! |

Oh man, Evil Tiga always looked great and so does Evil Trigger. Episode Z looks cool and hey, at least Z sort of gets a movie now.

Both Tiga and Dyna are still in Amazon's Top 30 Sci-Fi bestsellers.
