You both got switched to FedEx? That's interesting. I very recently shipped out 4 figures and picked DHL. I can't remember how much more the other options were, but DHL is dropping it off this week. Maybe because it's more items / bigger box the DHL estimate was accurate for my package

Man I feel for you. From my experience, getting refunds can be a real hassle. I read their terms and it looks like you can get a refund on pre-orders, but they take 5% fee. In-stock and private warehouse can't be cancelled

Paypal I believe only has a 180 period to initiate a refund. When I tried to get a refund because of Nippon Yassan going under, I had to escalate it to my bank and only got a partial refund of about 80-75% of the total order

Hope you find a solution. This hobby shouldn't be a hassle

Haha. I was gonna type out a big long post about how I fully paid off a preorder six months in advance and selected DHL for shipping, but months later, when the item came in stock, Hobby Genki shipped by Fedex.

Didn’t realize that was what the problem ended up being, lol.

I got a fedex store, like 5 minutes from my house and I can redirect these international shipments there, so it works out for me. Fedex cannot be trusted to actually deliver a package to my house, though, so I sort of hate them.

Edit: Oh yeah, I did not think about how Fedex was cheaper than DHL. Guess I got ripped off too.

Wow it happened to you too mrabbitman 😮 and I thought I was the only one. It seems like genki is running some kind of rip off scam with their shipping like if you pay for DHL a lot then when the order ready to ship they switch to fedex which you don?t pay for and pocket the rest of the money. What do we do about it?

I know for my order, I preordered and paid last year and shipping prices were just going up in general over time. I think it was particularly bad with DHL. So I understand why they would not want to lose money, and chose the cheaper FedEx option when my order finally came in stock. I think I got ripped off, but I don’t think it was a scam. I believe that shipping got that much more expensive over the long preorder window.

Also the important distinction for me is that Fedex ships just as fast as DHL to me, and they let me pick up from the store right across the street for no extra charge. If I was in your position, I would definitely be frustrated.

That said though, one of the claws on mine broke off almost instantly, and the thumb refuses to stay on. Had to super glue those bad boys back on.

Yeah Buffa's only issue is his claws. I'm glad they're articulated but if you don't get their joints freed up in just the right way, they will break off.

Sorry to hear that, and I am kind of fortunate that I never prepaid shipping as I don't think it is worth to pay 3000-4000 yen just to ship one figuart and HG can store the figuarts for a long period of time. I always try to push the shipping cost down to 1000 yen per figuarts.

To say that, I do also remember they switch the carrier I chose one or two times but I don't really bother as I always choose the cheapest between DHL/Fedex/UPS and all three are as good as others.

You paid 3600 to ship DHL when preordering so maybe you can random pick one figuarts now and try to check out to see how much the cost between shipping with DHL and Fedex. This way you can at least try to ask for refund. Other than that, I guess what you can do is either to stop ordering from them or store everything into warehouse and ask for shipping quote when it is released.

Ok I crunched the numbers.

In December of 2022, I ordered SHF Absolute Tartarus, and the Black Sun Battle Hopper. The total shipping for DHL was 3,290 yen.

I tried to game out how much the same shipping would be today. Unfortunately, the SHF battle hopper is out of stock on Hobby Genki, so I put SHF Absolute Tartarus, and SHF Vice and Lovkov set (another weird box like the bike) the shipping for both of these comes out to 6,390 yen. So the shipping looks like it doubled in the 9 months between the order and now. I can understand why they busted my shipping down to fedex from DHL.

I would think the best business practice is to bring this up to me prior to shipping and give me a chance to approve, but with the language barrier here, I am gonna cut them a huge amount of slack. (Mainly because it actually worked out ok for me).

I just shipped 6 figuarts with Fedex for 5190 yen, can't really remember how much they quote for DHL but now I understand why they switch carrier as they will lose a lot of money if they stick with DHL.

Btw, if you never combine shipping with Hobby Genki, they do offer you quite a few options. I always choose the cheapest one between DHL, UPS and Fedex as I have pretty bad experience with Japan post.

The unopened one dropped from 52000 YEN to 45000 YEN a few days ago after being steady for a long time. Well, still way way overpriced but the drop secures another figuarts and Yen is at its weakest in decades ( 1:148 with USD).

That version is still so overpriced that the price drop didn't make a difference to me. I just started watching the original Kamen Rider series and have been enjoying it so I'm happy to have the seihou of the original design.

It's crazy though that the most recent release is the cheapest out of all the Ichigo seihous and that one is completely redesigned.

Both the 50th anniversary and the original release of the 2nd Ichigo design are still up there in price

I have a question regard SS No.1 Sakurajima version and SS old No.1. Both of them are conference "exclusive", 2018 and 2022. I know the old No.1 later has a general release after the conference which brings the price down.

How about the Sakurajima version? I haven't started collecting KR SHF at that time so I don't know, did it also have a general release after the conference?

Nope. No reissues so far. Glad I?m a completist in this case. Had no idea it would stay this steady 5 years later. It?s probably going to get a reissue somewhere down the road

I'm shocked that Sakurajima Ichigo commands that high a value. For one thing, the original Shinkocchou Seihou Ichigo mold was one of the earliest figure in the sub-line, and hasn't aged the best. And as far as I'm aware, Sakurajima seems like the least iconic of his three suits. I've never seen someone favor it over the original colors suit or the Double Riders suit he's had in almost every appearance since his debut

LOL not “iconic” enough? The Japanese fans LOVE the Sakurajima suit version, even the old mold still sells well. I knew immediately this one (unless reissued) was going to be sold out. But I’m very surprised that they haven’t reissued it again. They will eventually. This site always changes my punctuation to Question Marks. Annoying af

And STILL no Hana Ochi/Wasp Augmentation, the best suit in the movie.

Phase Variation Batta Augment is awesome, it looks so good.

Yeah I agree and would like to see them finish off both the Zero-One and Saber lines already especially the prototypes they already have. I can't believe they dragging out Durandai's release as well.

Just give us Ark-One and Rampage Vulcan already for the Zero-One line and then for the Saber line Blades Tategami houjou senki, Elemental Dragon, and obviously Xross Saber which we know exists already in prototype form

I feel for both of you about finishing the lines. Once a final form is released the line is finished look at Ex-aid and Build for example. Saber we haven’t seen another release since Saber evil form back in march I think the line is not popular enough for Bandai to finish the other riders and movie stuff. At this point I see Xcross being the last release of the line and they move on.

This is sad but true when it comes to the Saber line of SHF, I do not foresee any other forms (Elemental Dragon, Emotional Dragon or King Dai Seki) getting a figure and as for other riders I honestly can?t see a Solomon or Storious figure happening either even though it?s just a retool of Jaou Dragon (though does anyone want those?)

I would like a Falchion but I don?t see that happening either so really Xross Saber is the only thing I see coming out?If Bandai release Xross Saber and Kamen Rider Durendal then I can honestly say that I?d be satisfied with the Saber line so please Bandai just release those two and then you can move on to Gotchard.

I am in CA, so Pbandai is at $292 compared to ordering three from Hobby Genki using Fedex (4290 yen) at 33780 yen (~$227). It is like $65 difference, even with the controversy with Hobby Genki, I just can't use pBandai.

Quick questions:

1. The bike for Aug is the same as no.1 with a different color scheme, right

2. I didn't want to show. Is the bike only for no. 2+1 or no. 2 also use it?

1. correct same exact model just a different color just like in the movie

2. don't want to spoil it because you can watch the movie for free via Amazon Prime still and currently if you live in the States. The bike is related to the ending scene and does have a connection to both Riders in a sense

Rider #2 uses the first cyclone, it?s almost the same bike minus the thrusters being a different color.

The SHF remedied this by making them swappable

Retooled rereleases of X and Orb.

Nah, it seems like both of them are going to just have extra hands, color timer parts, and their respective beam attack effect part according to the tamashii web official site, for now at least.

What're the retooled parts?

Orb gets a new sculpt of his head and beam effect, X just gets a newly sculpted beam effect. At least those are what the Tamashii Lab website point out as new.

Ok sorry for asking another question. Does the X figure have the removable armor, so I can put on the old armor accessories on it?

Neither confirmed nor disconfirmed, however, spending time and money on new tooling to simply remove a feature doesn't sound likely.

I'm sure you can use the existing armor pieces with this one too.

The paint was really good on those accessory packs for X, so I bet they will look nice on the updated figure if they are compatible.
