I don’t know how popular custom resin kits are here, but did anyone else notice that Full Cart removed all the SHF resin kits they had from their store? The artist that made them (MeCoach) deleted his Twitter too. Wonder if Bandai lawyers gave him a visit?

Really sucks because I had like 6 of those kits in my cart and went back to buy them and they were gone.

IIRC MeCoach was scolded by JP Toku fans on Twitter for selling the Geats IX resin kits (he was posting a lot of WIP pictures which is how JP fans found him). Didn't help that MeCoach kept provoking them, definitely feels like he was reported to Bandai. :(

MeCoach still has a twitter acc up call Fullcartoys with a link to a website to buy. His last post was back in Aug so I don’t know if he still sells his kit you can check it out.

I was able to order Kyoryu Red King from Hobby Genki no problem. The site was not buggy or slow or anything for me. I was totally expecting a bloodbath.

It was pretty chill this time around. After I got what I wanted I checked AmiAmi and HLJ and everything was still up.

I got Red King by the way, it looks so good. My first Ultra Kaiju!

Now that pre-orders are up and we have more promo pics, I wanna highlight what I meant by the shoulder joints looking poorly designed.

You see that big gap in his right shoulder there? Lately, Tamashii has has been changing the way they do shoulder joints on alot of their figures, such as on their recent One Piece line. Instead of doing the thing most companies do(and even they've done up until recently) wherein the shoulder and the joint are the same thing, they're now making the shoulder a cap and the joint a very tiny double ball peg. This is a serious step backwards.

For those who don't immediately get why, having the shoulder and the joint be the same thing not only looks aesthetically the best(especially when posing), but also achieves very good functionality assuming you impliment the hinge part correctly. The way these recent shoulders have been done not only results in them being very ugly in anything other than a vanilla pose, but makes the range of motion horrible. The worst case of which being their recent Guts figure.

And if you're wondering why the gap is in these two photos but seemingly none of the others, it's likely that they just rotated the shoulders in order to hide the gaps, which is extra work that'd be entirely unnecessary were they designed better in the first place. Tamashii pulled a similar move with the promo pics for Guts, wherein they used shadows the hide the gaps. I have no idea if this some weird cost cutting measure or what, but like the rubber torsos before it, it's a trend that very much needs to stop.

If it's just the gap you're worried about, like you said you have the shoulder cover and the joint's range to cover things up. Personally don't really find it a bit deal since they're designed to be moved and positioned in ways where you can hide large gaps with some better positioning of the joint itself. Like for example, Gokai Red and V3 have very different shoulder joints, but can look totally fine once you pose them properly.

Main reason for the design changes is to get as much forward range as they can get beyond a butterfly joint. V3 has his signature pose, Gokai Red has his ability to cross his arms without swap-out parts, and Kyoryu Red's case, some of his poses have him really swinging his arms out in-front of him or crossing them over one another.

That Guts figure is notorious for the shoulder cap coming undone and the arm falling off. Also basically the entire shoulder assembly is a small little peg put into a tiny hole. A lot of force gets put on that peg when you rotate the shoulder. I worry about the durability.


Don?t know how the other shoulders worked because they never failed on me like the Guts shoulder.

But that's the thing though. Not only is it extra effort that wouldn't be needed if this were a more traditional shoulder, but this new method with the hallowed out shoulder cap actually results in less range that if this were a well designed shoulder wherein the joint were the shoulder itself. And butterfly joints really should not be an issue to implement on Sentai figures their their monochrome designs. Especially since it's all been done, and well, before. It's "fixing" what isn't broken, essentially.

I am hesitate to preorder this guy for whatever reasons

How will the price move when it is released given the preoder is not going so well? Logically the price will drop further given the lack of interest. But if the number of preordering is relatively weak, will Bandai still do a mass production or actually reduce the number of copies produced? The price may increase if it is the latter

That's hard to say lately. Basically everything they put up at retail tends to stay up for preorder for a while as of late. Doesn't really say much about price-fluctuation cause even the Ultraman stuff is still up to get and historically that's usually the first to go. Only exception of all things has been the Gaia accessory set.

I think it's less lack of popularity and more supply meeting demand.

I always assumed for the retail items, the supplier has a set number of units allocated to each supplier; and then customers pre-order to secure their copy

That said, none of the Sentai figures in this current iteration go very much on the aftermarket. Even Gokai Red can be found on Mandarake for noticable less than the initial price.

Yeah let's not forget that AmiAmi overhauled their logistics with presumably a much bigger warehouse.

Them even offering Seihous again is new, they only did lucky draw sales on the Japanese site for a while now.

So stuff staying available on AmiAmi is not really a good indicator for popularity right now as they most likely have the ability to offer more stock than before.

For us that's a good thing, let's see how it evolves.

I was looking through the Tamashii 2022 reveals for Ultraman, and it looks like we got releases for most of them. We are just missing Joneus, which I hope they get to soon.

Probably bodes well for the awesome Ultra Kaiju reveals we got this year.

EDIT: I guess they also announced an SHF of Trigger power type in 2022, which they did not release yet.

SHF Boostriker looks kinda too small. Compared to the real CBR, it needs a bit more thiccness and heftiness. I hope the actual product will surprise me.

SHF Golddash looks more accurate in proportion. And it has articulated arms! This must be the first SHF bike to be released this early.

Oh, and I'm still waiting for SHF SS Battle Hopper and transformable SHF SS Autovajin, haha.

Kinda surprised about Golddash, but since Gotchard has way less Riders than Geats this can easily fill a slot.

Honestly that's the kind of bonus bikes should come with. Nothing integral to the rider, but complimentary.

I'm glad the whole "Pack the main weapons in with the bike" trend died off.

Smart move for Bandai to go ahead and release the bikes especially Goldash although waiting all the way until June sucks. I'm not a fan of the price even with the yen being weak currently but I'm happy they added the articulated arms on Goldash.

I'm not gonna lie the bike does make me want to get Gotchard now but I'll wait still.

And yes Bandai please confirm Durandai already...Idk it seems at times they be forgetting to confirm certain things but will still show off the prototype. Like with Build Genius for the longest

I'll hand it to them, that's actually pretty clever.

I believe it was also shown to come with the steam effects we saw from Blood Stark but I could be wrong.

Finally, a special color edition release that makes sense.
