Agreed. I just fear that the turnout for a Tamers, Frontier, Data Squad/Savers & Fusion/Xros Wars anniversary won't be as big as the Adventure/02 one because they aren't as notable to the masses. Plus the division in the fandom on those 4 seasons wouldn't help matters, since outsiders looking in would see us stationed fans with all our split feelings & thoughts about them; they themselves wouldn't feel like the others are worth their time. If die-hards like us won't appreciate things the franchise does then not that many other people will, you know?

If someone wants to hear opinions on a given season and there are equal amounts of established fans that say its good and that its bad most people will just, you know, watch the season and decide for themself. |
You're forgetting that most franchises have that little thing where fans, constant or forlorn, will perceive the first installment as the best. Anniversaries are made for this reason. The amount of people that like/hate Adventure is not as even as you think when you factor in all the people who, to them, that's the only season of Digimon that exists since that's all they saw. So this isn't to please us fans that have stuck with the franchise for so many years, rather it's a quick cashgrab from the people who will undoubtedly follow it (many of us die-hards) & a significant portion of the general public who know Adventure & only Adventure. The reason 02 gets a pass is because it's part of the same timeline & universe & where the creators wanna take Adventure next fits in with 02. Tamers onward you start to lose a good number of people because that big push you got from the nostalgia-only audience will dwindle the second they so much as touch Tamers. We have to keep in mind just how small the Digimon fandom actually is because if it was big enough to please Bandai & Toei we would've had more than 12 characters on the game. The game would've also been current-gen instead of last-gen like we're getting. We wouldn't have had two 3-4 year hiatuses between Frontier, Data Squad/Savers & Fusion/Xros Wars. Not to mention Frontier, Data Squad, Fusion & the replays of Adventure, 02 & Tamers would actually be on more easily accessible channels as opposed to just Toon Disney & Nicktoons. That's how small this fandom is, so things that we are segregated on, like a potential anniversary for Tamers or Frontier, can't be given too much effort because their won't be enough of a profit made out of it. To be quite honest, I'm still shocked we're actually getting this current anniversary considering how the "last one" turned out. So if a longterm, mainstay fan like myself is surprised that the nostalgia magnet season is getting this current treatment then you have a good idea of just what shape this franchise is in. I'm no authority on the matter by any means, but I guarantee I wasn't the only person surprised that Bandai & Toei are actually giving this much attention to Digimon again. I just hope that whatever it is they do from here on out is well-recieved. And that's the problem: I'm afraid that it won't be due to the nature of how media is so easy to get hooked into for a short amount of time (Adventure) but not in the long run (02-Xros Wars/Fusion) by the masses.

You're speaking as if Adventure should be considered a godsend. That if we don't give Adventure a certain level of praise, Digimon would have been long since dead.
Look at the Pokemon fandom as a comparison, not in terms of popularity, but in how it operated. The staggering amount of people who will come and say how "Gen 3 was my jumping on point" proves that you don't have to be an alpha fan of a franchise to still enjoy it. You're speaking as if Digimon is primarily fueled by nostalgia, not new fans tuning in to a new Digimon series. |

I think Digimon Season 2 is more recognizable than the original adventures season, You really can't get Veemon out of your head :lol

I know Ophanimon is the more popular choice, but why when we already have Magnamon confirmed as Gatomon's final evolution in Adventure?
