She didn't need developement, but developement wasn't what she was lacking. A fucking soul was what she was lacking. The only other surprise in her appearence in the climax wa sthat fact that her voice broke that robotic monotone for once. And if she didn't get attached to anyone, why was she one of the heartfelt faces extending open hands to our hero in need? Honestly, I don't like talking about OOOs flaws. I don't want to remember the stuff I didn't like, and comparring OOOs to double and seeing the ugly spots of the two (forgot to remention, OOOs did do one thing way better than double: the secondary rider was WAY better) is really just dapening the series for me. See, I recently rewatched Double with a friend. My starry-eyed blissful ignorance to Kamen Rider was long since gone, and the surprise of the show as spoiled in full, so it was really a chance to look past my initial feelings and re-evaluate it with scrutiny. And it was still better than OOOs. |
So, with OOO under your belt, are you going to finish Agito or start another?
|
Agito's next, as I'm about fifteen eps in.

Agito is a classic. Jetman is a classic. But everything Inoue has touched since 2003 has been total shit. You want proof? He's the dude that wrote the OOO portion of Movie War Core. |

If I can find it, I may give Fourze another chance, but I couldn't get past the first episode. The high school setting kills my interest, and the space motif isn't my cup of tea. (neither is the suit) Also, friendship being the overall theme has me groning just a bit.
Maybe if they make an SIC of Fourze I'll check it out. :lol Also I just relaised, the last few series have kind of been counting. Double means two, OOO is three zeros, Fourze sounds like "four" and Wizard has five letters in it. |

The parttern is...
W: The body is split in half giving every form 2 parts. OOO: The same as W, but split into 3 parts. Fourze: The switches can be equiped to 4 places on his body. Wizard: There are 5 elements Wizard can used (though one hasn't been used yet, but it's been confirmed by the belt toy). |

I didn't because I don't watch Wizard BUT HEY YOU KNOW WHAT |

Decade: Has the ability to change into 1 previous rider at a time. |

Spielberg gave us greatness with Jaws, Raiders, and Last Crusade. Then he gave us crap with AI, War of the Worlds, Temple, and Crystal Skull. Cameron gave us great movies in the like of Aliens and both Terminators and then ruined it with garbage such as Titanic and Avatar. Nolan might have Inception and The Dark Knight Trilogy, but he also has Insomnia under his belt. Tarantino does great movies, but he still gave us Death Proof. It doesn't matter who you are, you will always have just as much greatness as you have suckage. Quote:

Aw, looks like I missed a bunch of interesting Kiva/W/OOO talk.
I'll just say, Den-O is correct when he talks about Kiva, and wrong when he talks about W. :) Of those three shows, OOO is the lesser in my opinion, but it's still a great show. I pretty much agree with what everyone else said regarding why W is a stronger show than OOO. Going to finally give Wizard a chance, starting episode 1, right now. |

Finished Faiz 34-36. I guess I'm wrong about Go Green, or Mihara as he is called here, being cannon fodder. Seems like he will be the wearer of the Delta Gear. The big reveal in this episodes is what Takumi really is. I wasn't really surprised, I guess I subconsciously assumed that he is since he could wear the Faiz Belt. Though Kusaka was able to wear it too so maybe he is an Orphenoc too. Damn that Kusaka, I've been wanting someone to bludgeon him already. |

Just watched the first episode of Kamen Rider Wizard. Maybe I don't understand his powers / the world well enough, but if he could grab donuts off of a lamp post with his magic, why couldn't he have just walked through the portal to leave the jail cell?

I thought the first episode was good enough, not great, but rarely is the first episode of a show the best one. I hope it improves, I'm going to watch more of it, I didn't hate anything. I like the design of Wizard, and the way the magic circles are used for everything. It bothers me that mainly Wizard feels like he's meant to be a fantasy type wizard, fighting monsters, casting spells, and then every once in a while they act like he's a stage magician. It doesn't fit together. |
Man, Agito episode 19 was amazing. I hope the rest are that level.

PS Hoji's still a prick. |

The whole plot with him discovering that guy's stuff about how he murdered what did the murdering of his sister. I wish the whole show was like that. Genuine people drama overtop Rider fights. But I'm expecting more Gills screaming like a trapped rabbit and Agito being completely ignorant (willingly or not) to his rider exploits. I mean, he's a nice guy, but he seems pretty damn indifferent to... life. He seems to maybe be kind of breaking into giving-a-fuck-land by living alone, but, well, he seems to do nothing related to being a Rider. In fact, the whole show just seems... off. Like it's not sure if it wants to be human drama or a Kamen Rider show or whatever the horrible animal monsters are doing and the police's efforts to stop them, instead of being all three at once. These things, while intersecting sometimes, hardly ever overlap. It's weird. Most of the time as I'm watching it I'm all "this is good shit" and the bits and pieces are good, but overall I'm not feeling it. I can't really remember a hell of a lot that's happened, and I'm halfway through episode 20. EDIT: Also I'm getting pretty God-damned sick of that same old fight music and that atrocious "Aki" character. EDIT2: And I'm getting incredibly sick of Mana and that rotten child. The way Mana says Agito's real name is the most annoying thing in the world since my friend farted in my ear while I was eating. |

I dunno, I don't see myself being as enthralled by this show as W and OOOs. I guess I just prefer the peppier series with more energetic characters. |

Agito (And Kuuga, Ryuki, Faiz, and maybe Blade) is nothing like the Kamen Rider of today. Today it's about flashy effects and selling toys, but early Heisei was more about making a good story with good characters and good beat 'em up action. They stayed on the side of drama and mystery. Especially Kuuga and Agito. Quote:

Again, twenty episodes and it feels like barely a thing has happened. It's like Kabuto all over again, except Agito doesn't make me want to punch my screen. Quote:
I think the show is a bit too serious. So serious the silliness of Kamen Rider stands out a bit too much. Surfing his bike, a monster with a jellyfish on his head, pulling swords and shit out of his belt. These things contrast a bit too harshly against the melodrama, snail's pace plot and the fairly flat selection of characters. The ''flashy effects'' and ''toy selling'' of modern series don't bother me as long as the story is well paced. I'm almost halfway through Agito and I still don't know a lot nor has a lot actually happened. Quote:

If you can survive the first 10 episodes of "What the fuck?", Blade has a wonderful sense of drama without seeming overly melodramatic as well as nice action (Well, I enjoyed it).
