I'm almost done with Zyuranger. Episode 46. I liked Bandora before, but I like her much more now that the endgame has taken shape and her specific motivations have come to light.
I'm also around episode 36-40 of Gingaman, which has been... okay. I like the villains quite a bit and the cast is okay, but MAN the main story is generic. The individual episodes are okay, but it really depends on which teammate is in the spotlight whether I like it or not. I generally like Gingaman, but it's not in my top 5 or 6 favorites, for sure. I'm at episode 24 of Abarenger, and I kinda love how wacky the tone of the series gets, when at the same time you have two villains that are anything but - Nakadai / AbareKiller is a terrific evil ranger foil and Jeanne has a really good, emotional arc with Asuka. You contrast that with episodes like the anime character and the baseball player and it's a giant WTF. I like Abaranger, but sometimes I'm really not sure if that contrast works. |

Oh by the way, saw the Ninninger V-Cinema today and I loved it to bits and pieces. Everyone who complained about Fuuka not having enough spotlight on the show: Here's a 50-minutes long Fuuka episode. Some glorious jokes in it too. And Ninnin parents are awesome. |

Not shows per se but random sentai henshin compilation clips.
It is fun to see how the henshin choreography changed throughout the years from the simple "I got a wrist band!" pose to "beep boop beep boop push buttons" to "check out my cellphone!". :lolol |
I just finished my Zyuranger rewatch.
I actually like the show more than I did when I first watched it. It's definitely not one of my favorites and I've seen better 90's Sentai, but it's a fine series. For what it sets out to do, it does that well and it does a good time building mythology and being entertaining. Characters were fine, focus was an issue but I enjoyed them all individually to an extent, especially Geki and Goushi. Geki isn't one of my favorite reds but I did enjoy his trials and Yuuta Mochizuki did an awesome job putting life into a pretty flat character on paper. Goushi I just have always loved the guy lol, gave a good second in command to a hotter-blooded Geki. But I still had issues with it. The kid focus can get grating after a while and sometimes I was kind of bored with some episodes. Wasn't too fond of the ending but whatever. An underrated series somewhat that I enjoyed. |

While watching Zyuranger the past couple months I thought "these idiots would be FUCKED without Goushi" at least six or seven times.

Zyuranger is definitely one of those shows that grows on you the more you rewatch it.

I started Gekiranger yesterday, and I have high expectations considering how loved it is today.
But man, that first episode was weird. I've never been bored by an episode but at the same time have really entertaining parts in it. But it gave me the incentive to watch more, which is good. |
I'm currently watching Go-Onger. It's surprisingly extremely fun considering how diverse opinions are towards it.
I love that Green and Black are both in the core 5 for the first time. Color mixture of the 5 is refreshing especially since it has never been done in any other season except in Kyoryuger. Though, looking at the Kyoryuger cast, I don't think I'll like that season very much. The vibe of the season is refreshing. The suits are amazing and the mechas are interesting. The characters are giving me very good first impression. I love Gunpei, Ren and Sosuke already. Hanto needs a little fleshing out. I hope he turns out to be "surprisingly skilled"as what Gunpei said but without the stumbling. I hope Go Onger continues to be great. I've only watched 3 episodes so far. This season might be as good as Dairanger. Please don't crash and burn. |
