I feel like I'm being gaslight with how much praise I see that entire project is getting on places like Twitter. Ultraman deserves much better than some decade old script with Ultraman plastered on top.

been a long time since i bought any Ultra Figuarts... but Father looks pretty dope.

I wasn't around when Ultra-Act was happening, so I had to looks this up and yeah, that's a chad alright.

Gotta say, as nice as super accurate figures are, there's a certain charm to "let's make this design into a figure, our way" and then have cool stuff like this:

This is cool. Pass for me though, as I don't have or plan to buy Earth Garon.

The thing is it looks very well animated for one, which sadly isn't the standard nowadays but an exception, and two, "decade old script with Ultraman plastered on top" is a crude way to put it, but accurate, not necessarily a bad thing though.

A script isn't of poor quality because it went unnoticed for a long time. Especially something niche like this. It was always an Ultraman-inspired story about parenthood involving a giant hero and a baby monster, but when Netflix picked it up it went into Tsuburaya's hands by complete chance, they liked it so much they offered the project the freedom to use the Ultraman IP.

That's what gets people excited, this project was always in hands of people who clearly love Ultraman, and now it was acknowledged by the spark that created it and thus allowed to become more than a tribute. I will definitely watch it, just to see how it turned out.

I have my issues with what we've seen of the new Ultraman Netflix series but the SHF looks totally fine to me. The style isn't one of my issues at all and I think this figure captures it real well.

The fact that it's fully-articulated while still retaining its very lanky "alien" physique is still very impressive.

That's just people being gullible falling for PR talk. "This story was always totes mgotes about Ultraman." Spare me. People fall all over themselves whenever some western creative has a passing interest in Toku.

Most Western creatives are hypocrites and pathological liars. However, you can also throw that against other ethnic groups as well (partially considering that Americans keep going on about multicultural and all that). Happens in Europe too, considering Europe and America are practically mirrors of each other.

Speaking of Ultraman Rising, off tangent, I hope they create a live action version later if they ever do a Ultra Galaxy Fight type of thing and release a figuarts for that as well. They could probably even get Yuuki Yamada who played Joe/Gokai Blue to promote in Japan since he's voicing Ken in the Japanese dub.

That could be cool. Lots of people wanted another chance for Eternal back when the "decide which figure we should release again"-vote was happening.

Well that answers my question lol. Really awesome to see that not only do the Bear riders have it, but at least the mouthpiece is swappable for the other Riders.

I'm sure SHF Upgrade will create some accurate form change heads/eyes for the other Riders. But definitely good to know Punkjack's parts are fully compatible with DaPaan and Shirowe (which also means the new SHF Upgrade Punkjack set should be compatible as well)

Seems like maybe Bandai don't actually have the production capacity to make 6 Seihou announcements in one month to get to 100, so they're having to cheat.

Bizarre that they'd lead with this one, even so.

I don't think it's cheating considering there are some Seihous that released that people have been begging for reissues due to aftermarket spikes. Hyper Kabuto, Eternal, Ultimate Kuuga, N. Daguva for just some examples.

If you're gonna celebrate an anniversary, reissuing previous sought-after releases like they did with SHF last year should be a part of that.

The fact that Hyper Kabuto's reissue seems to be Tamashii Club-only is the only real head-scratching part considering how specific an audience it's available to.

That's the part I'm mainly referring to. Reissues absolutely make sense, and Hyper Kabuto is one of the best candidates for it, but not if it isn't even available to the public. Plus it being the first item on their countdown makes me suspicious.

Nah, number 100 at the very least will probably be something new.

Not to mention there are recent new Seihous that would make plenty of sense to announce for this, like the remaining showas and Kaixa. Starting with a reissue doesn't automatically mean that's all it is.

Unfortunate that they didn't include Jamashin parts swap... I wonder if the left claw hand shown in the previews is a new piece, because the current one cannot hold a weapon at all LOL (for me at least) ;)

A shame it doesn't, since I imagined it would've been relatively easy to include the Jyamashin parts. But yea, looks like they're included a swappable left hand now, which is a nice plus. Even though he only used the dual Zombie Breaker thing once in the episode where he first uses Fever Zombie. And it seems like the skirt piece will be removable so that you can swap the legs.

Wonder what the deal was with Na-Go's, Tycoon's, and PunkJack's ID Cores are the bottom of that initial promo image, though. I wonder if these will be a set of legs, or if they'll be entire figures like Buffa Fever Zombie. Hopefully if the former, they'll include the Jyamashin parts. Or even parts for like, Keilow Ninja or Nadge-Sparrow Monster (be it the former or latter). Scummy? Potentially, but I think it would be nice little bonuses to have, like the Zombie left hand to allow for dual wielding Zombie Breakers.

Wait, dang, seems like it only comes with one Zombie Breaker instead of two like I thought, judging from the accessory list. Kind of a downer, would've loved it if they included two. It would be just so awkward to take the Zombie Breaker from my regular Buffa just to make Buffa Fever Zombie dual world. Regular Buffa needs it.

Really wishing we got the Jyamashin parts here now.
