The introduction of form-changing in SHF (over the recent, what, five years) has me wondering if we'll be seeing stuff like a Ex-Aid lvl 2&3 set or a Build Build Change gimmick figure for their repsective 10th anniversaries.

Either way, I'm still amazed that we're at a point in time where figures a decade old don't look as jank as figures from fifteen years ago. I feel a bit old but at the same time, it's an interesting time to be alive.

I think Build's would be a little more difficult to do, considering how exactly the changing works. But I would love an Ex-Aid one. They're definitely much more recent than Gaim, and stand pretty well against the newer SHFs still, so I don't image we'll be seeing Seihous of them for a while.

Drive thru Zi-O likely aren't going to be done for quite awhile, given the recent reissues that those shows got of their standard SHFs.

Technically 2013 was "just" the premiere. Due to Toei/Bandai's curious method of counting, Gaim is designated the 2014 series and Wizard is 2013. I guess they just count based on when the bulk of the show airs.

Ichigo & Pine set is #98, #99 will be revealed on March 29, and #100 "soon". Thankfully the bikes don't count in the official numbering, but I can't imagine Kaixa not being one of them. It keeps showing up in their displays

Have anyone secure orange arms preorder on hobby genki? I was able to preorder banana arms on Hobby Genki like 4 hour ago but orange arms was already “out of stock” at that time. Not sure if it was ever up for preorder.

I didn't even know some sites were putting them up already.

But FWIW, both are still available for PO on Tokullectibles. You'll have to put up at least a deposit and they might be a tad bit pricier, but it might be worth it if you don't want to deal with the stress of trying to get in on AmiAmi or HLJ

Grabbed Gaim and Baron off Amiami, these staggered preorders have honestly made things so much easier.

Same, Amiami putting their SHFs up a day after everyone cuts the competition down significantly. Was able to get both the moment they dropped without a fight.

I already preorder Banana arms with Hobby Genki but missed out on Orange arms. With tokullectibles sold out, amiami is my "last" resort. I didn't have any hope as I couldn't even load the page for all those previous preorders.

Surprisingly it is so smooth this time and I can't even believe I have it done within a few seconds.

Wondering if y'all can help me understand something.

I was in Japan for most of February, and obviously, I did the required shopping trips to Akihabara and Den Den Town. I had a long list of Figuarts I wanted, and I knew I'd find a lot of great, pre-owned/discounted options.

Toward the top of that list was a Geats, but for some reason, the Geats were scarce. The preowned ones I was able to find were being sold at, or far above, retail price. He was the only main rider that I couldn't find for a good price. I ended up getting one, but it was only $5 cheaper than buying a new, US release of the figure off Amazon.

I thought the scarcity was because Geats was the most recent series, so maybe there hadn't been a lot of sell-backs yet. BUT, I'm looking at a lot of these same retailers' online shops, and there are already a bunch of preowned Gotchard Figuarts on sale for wayyy below retail. And still no Geats!

Is there a story behind this? Did they scale back production for the Geats line? Is the show so popular that no one wants to resell what they've bought? Why the heck was he so hard to find?

My guess -- Disclaimer: I am not a Japanese toy retailer, nor a toy retailer in Japan -- is that it's a combination of two things:

1) The Raise Buckle parts-switching gimmick for the Geats figures made people buy/need multiples of different characters, to get the parts they need for specific combinations.

2) Geats is just really, really popular.

I sadly missed out on the Gaim SKC preorder, mostly because the orders went up when I was in bed.

I think these are going to have a US release too. Also there?s a chance the Japanese retailers will get extras in maybe a month before the release date.

Plus Tamashii can always do a second run. I think you will be able to get these eventually.

Okay this has become a pet peeve of mine. WTF is an “SKC” Figuarts? You do realize that abbreviations DO NOT CHANGE because you live in a different country, it?s a rule of the English language to abbreviate the 1st letters in a word, not randomly assigning abbreviations from inside the word.
It’s “SS” as in S)hinkocchou S)eihou (as also seen on SHF site) not (S)hin(K)occhou …. where are you getting the C from??? The middle of the 1st word??
It literally makes no sense in the English Language.
Bandai also uses “SS” in their literature, and they are correct in usage.

These new Gaim and Baron SS releases are probably going to be hard to get on the aftermarket for the same reason.

I am only aware of how insane the prices and availability of Geats figures have gotten because I was, uh... sort of interested in getting a couple duplicates of BoostMagnum, so I could display them as FeverMagnum and FeverBoost. Not happening now!

My hope with the Gaim Seihous is that they do a Plat Form/Entry Form-style figure at some point, where it's the undersuit figure and maybe the gun, that's it, for a couple thousand yen less. Pick up that figure and the Arms pack if you want to also display Pine Arms, rather than having a bunch of Orange Arms accessories languishing in a box.

But why do that when you can force a bunch of ravenous collectors to buy the full figure at retail two, three, four times? :lol

Man, I am so lucky. I felt FOMO for SHF Geats BoostMagnum 'cuz I skipped out on him before, especially after they revealed Buffa Fever Zombie and teased the other Fever forms (because why else would they have the ID Cores images of Na-Go, Tycoon, and PunkJack at the bottom). So I went scouring on Mandarake and AmiAmi, and found a pre-owned/opened one on AmiAmi that I immediately bought on sight (in fact it's why I now have an AmiAmi account). But he cost the same as the original preorder, so that's pretty telling how much Geats SHFs are on the aftermarket.

Personally since I have no intention of getting rid of my Gaim SHFs for the Seihous (since I only have Gaim Orange Arms, Kachidoki Arms, Pine Arms, Baron Banana Arms, Baron Mango Arms, Lord Baron, Bravo Durian Arms, Zangetsu Kachidoki Arms, and Marika Peach Energy Arms), I'll display my Gaim with Ichigo Arms, and Baron with Pine Arms.

May the lord have mercy on my wallet when they release more Gaim Seihous. Especially Kachidoki Arms, because I will go feral for that.

Shinkocchou Seihou: Shinkocchou translates to bone carving, while Seihou refers to "manufacturing method." Some people prefer to refer to it as Shinkocchou primarily as the first word is more defining than the second, thus ShinKoCchou -> SKC. While it's not official, you also see other people refer to them by shorthand as other terms as well, so I don't think it's particularly dumb.

With Seihous, like... does anyone even expect them to get through all the Energy Riders, let alone movie and V-Cin Riders? It's one thing when these figures were released at retail, but at a minimum of 9000 yen via P-Bandai? Feels like we're going to get Gaim's main three forms (plus maybe a few other Arms Pack releases), Baron's Energy Rider suit, Ryugen, Shin Zangetsu, maybe Bravo, and maybe Duke -- plus it'll take them three years.

It's honestly one of the reasons I'm not keen on upgrading from the previous Figuarts: I just don't think they'll do all the suits, so why switch over?

I mean, they did it with OOO, so I don't see why they can't. Granted we don't have Poseidon or Aqua, so maybe they won't do all of the V-Cinema Riders, but I can see them doing the main show Riders at least. Then again, OOO only has OOO and Birth.

I'm still waiting for them to do the Kabuto movie riders lol
