I think the Gaim Seihous were announced after KR Valvarad, and after those was the X Seihou. We're still waiting for when they'll announce the Pine and Ichigo Arms set.

I’m gonna be brutally honest here, if number 100 isn’t a new main Rider (no previously seen prototype like Stronger) this marketing campaign will be the biggest flop in Figuarts history. Like if I see an OOO variant, Kaixa, or even a Gaim Rider pop up on screen I’m gonna start laughing hysterically.

Crazy theory time: It’s Geats IX, all final forms are Seihou’s by default now so they can more easily charge 12000+ Yen.

So conflicting. Like, ok, it's cool and it does make sense for the 100th to be a Seihou of their first figure. And I'm sure there's a lot of The First/The Next fans that are happy about it. But I still feel a bit... underwhelmed?
Personal tastes I suppose, but I don't know what they could have done that would reasonably feel right being number 100 (aside from Decade Complete Form 21, obviously...) except either original colours Nigou or maybe like people were saying a final form of something where it's an obvious gap?

While I am happy to see the original design redone, I was hoping for several other options as well. Hibiki Armed or Ryuki/Blade makes sense, or Pututyra OOO, but I kinda agree with your sentiments

I think for this we gotta ignore how the source material performed. Sure, the movie wasn't something like the W summer movie or Paradise Lost or Shin Kamen Rider, but we have to look within the realm of S.H. Figuarts and remember that when this brand first launched The NEXT Ichigo in Sakurajima colors was one of the first ones out there. Let me make it clear that I'm not defending the movie and I would've loved to see SS Taiyaki Master hog the glory instead, but when we think of what better way is there to commemorate this helluva milestone I think this was a logical choice. It's not the only option, again, SS Taiyaki Master would've been awesome, but it makes sense given its legacy and being the protagonist of the source material it's from.
That said, now I want someone to plug the Kikawada head on a Ryusoul Red figure. :lolol

If we arguing about the film, with some disappoint about how the shin KR turn out, the first/next should be more appreciated as better reimagining of KR compared to years ago but of course this subjective to everyone taste...
Best example, Recently with anniversary of star wars the phantom menace we got similar talk around about how prequel trilogy get more appreciated after the sequel trilogy or any disney's star wars show, you get the idea

I'll likely bite. The movies suck but my love for this suit design honestly outweigh how I feel about The FIRST/NEXT.

The suits, including Nigo and V3's, still hold up in my opinion. The Sakurajima color scheme really suits this rendition of the suit in particular.

Yes I also love the suit, the more I think about it a good re-magining of kamen rider for adult audiences.

I agree with this sentiment. But because it drives me nuts, “SS” is the abbreviation for Shinkocchou Seihou (you capitalize the first letter of the word in English, not random letters) and the reason “SKC”(this is just so wrong ��)

Can't say I'm surprised, honestly. All the other options weren't quite landmark-y enough, or were too recent. My guesses were either "First of an Era" (OG Ichigo- we've already had all three THOUGH THEY COULD USE SOME REISSUES, Kuuga- redundant, Zero-One- too recent), or "Probably a Movie Rider", of which SKR Ichigo was again too recent, Shin was... Yeah, and J and ZO don't quite have the notability/notoriety.

So The First makes complete sense.

I don't think it'd make sense to release The NEXT at another time, since the movie itself isn't popular but they also want to celebrate the first ever Figuarts. That's why I understand what they're going for but also I get why people are disappointed haha

I mean I expected this. If you're gonna hit 100 with the Seihou line and it started as a way to update past SHFs, why not have it be the first SHF in the brand?

The First Ichigou is surprisingly popular with toku fans since the movie is still remembered fondly and the design is very stand-out. Nigou and V3 would sell if they get to them, too. Been seeing some JP SHF and rider collectors on Twitter freaking over this.

2028 would be a good year since figuarts will turn 20 by then.
