Well tonight's Arrow was thankfully a vast improvement over the last two. Still not spectacular, but a step in the right direction. Nice to see him wearing his costume again. Like Flash, I really hope with them getting past this past stuff allows the writers to take a new direction with the show next season.

So Savitar is a time remnant...I don't know how I feel about that revelation.

I mean, it just seems really convoluted...

So we spent the afternoon watching episodes 15-20 of Supergirl and overall, they've been a mixed bag.

The one with Cadmus kidnapping aliens was not bad, but my god I am getting sick of seeing Henshaw. Can they make his mask look any more over the top in silliness? I just can't take him seriously at all. In fact, if I were Supergirl I would break down in laughter whenever I saw him. It's kind of sad that a movie from the 80s can pull off a better looking cyborg face than a TV series made 30+ years later. My biggest complaint of the episode though was how Maggie pretty much stood by Alex regardless of her feelings. LIke seriously? God that was dumb. I also got a laugh out of Lena when her actress broke into her accent. That was pretty funny. Lastly, whole subplot with Lyra was meh.

The next two episodes with Mon-El's parents were decent, but highly predictable. Good god, what happened to you Kevin Sorbo? You've been reduced to minor character cameos. How the mighty Hercules has fallen. :D Oh, and good god was that mind battle with MM and the other dude hilarioiusly bad, but not a good kind of hilarious. This is why when you have a mind battle, you actually show the people fight inside the mind. There are so many jokes you can make with their facial reactions due to how stupid that scene was.

Finally, the episode with Ravi from iZombie was hands down the best episode of the season. Now that was a damn good episode! It wasn't perfect since the subplot with Lyra was all over the place (she just goes ape shit on Winn for no reason), but it was a highly enjoyable episode. I don't know why, I really like Lena and I hope they don't dive into the generically overdone, "She's a Luthor so she has to be evil" plotline that they keep hinting at. I really hope this show does better.

BTW, it just dawned on me that Alex's dad is played by the dude who played Superman in Lois and Clark. lol

Not sure how I feel about episode 19 as it feels like they ripped off the plot to The Cell, but forgot to add in all of the 90s Marilyn Manson kick ass visuals that makes that movie watchable. The whole plan was flawed but I couldn't help but get a kick out of Alex's comment about not wiping her punch from the dude's memory. Oh, and I'm glad to see Lena wasn't an idiot.

As for the next one, it was nice to finally see Jimmy actually get an episode that didn't feel like they forced him into it. The stuff they did with him was kind of touching. Unfortunately, the invasion plot feels like they are just copying last season's finale, just with Dax instead of Krypton. I hope it is at least played out well.

Oh, and I really want a screen shot of the scene when the queen says, "Lena, you're a marvel," but then it is followed by, "But I'm a DC," and then a picture of Lillian saying, "She's adopted." That would be hilarious.

Tonight's Flash was a really fun episode. I loved when both Iris and Joe went off on Barry for time travelling. The Suicide Squad bit was great too, but my favorite moment of the episode was when Cisco was talking about the security system and then Cold just opens the door immediately after. Although, the one about Jaws and the budget was priceless too. I'm a little surprised they already did the big event, but that leaves me wondering what they are going to do next week to screw up the time stream. I also have to say that Cold telling Barry to be the hero he is supposed to be was great.



Like the last few weeks, tonight's iZombie was spectacular. I might even like this episode better than the dominatrix one. My favorite scene is easily the moment when Liv hands Clive a star and he just goes with it. I'm not sure if I really should feel sorry for the teacher, but he got nailed just like he wanted.

I've got to wonder if the lawyer dude works for Mr Boss. Oh, and I guess we are now going to see Blaine open up his cure business to take away from his dad's club.

I got around to seeing last week's episode of Flash
Holy shit am I gonna drop this show after the season is done, that's so fucking STUPID

Flash was alright. I loved that twist with Savitar in the Flash suit. It's always great to see Snart. Too bad he's not there more often. At times this episode got really boring with those moments between HR/Tracy, Joe/Iris, or Iris/Barry. I'm curious to see how Team Flash solves this problem.

So I picked up Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition earlier today. Haven't had time to play it yet due to work and university but I'll get around to it either friday or the weekend. The only thing that pisses me off at the moment (and I can't remember if this was what they did with the first game) is that the DLC codes I got for Darkseid and the Ultimate Edition extras are QR Codes only and dont have the option to use the five 4 digits numbers and letters like most dlc for Xbox One games have. So now if i want to install it, (hopefully) i can borrow a Kinect from a friend. Worst case scenario, spend $88 on a preowned Kinect I'm most likely only going to use for this problem and if I return/trade, get less than half my money back. Argh

So you are going to ignore how great Seasons 1 and 2 were (and how great Season 4 could end up being) because you didn't like 1 episode? What was so bad about last week's episode? It was solid as far as I am concerned. However, the entire quality of the season rides on how good the season finale ends up. However, I am a fan of Flash enough to live with the bad even with the good. Until this show features cloud aliens it will never hit rock bottom. And even then, it is still hands down the best super hero show ever.

It's not just one single episode you dip
The first season was great, I was drawn into the cheesy and lighthearted nature of the show, which stuck out as I couldn't believe there was a DC thing which wasn't necessarily for kids without ANGSTANGSTANGSTEDGEDGEDGE
Season 2 became darker and edgier, which I wasn't happy with. It got us Harry though, and it was still enjoyable in it's own right
Season 3 so far has been a goddamn letdown. They promoted the whole Flashpoint thing, solved in an episode. Turns out, there's this new fuck up because Barry stuck his dick in the speedforce and Cisco is constantly bitter, nothing like the character I ended up liking the most. "Oh, but he stopped being a bitter asshole during the alien thing" Yeah, the crossover with 3 shows I don't watch, not to mention Cisco apparently jeopardized the entire operation JUST to spite Barry. Then there's how Wally was treated! They kept going "Stay! No being a Speedster or you sleep outside!" even though everyone watching the show up to this point would scream "Wally's got reasons to want to be a Speedster and you're making him feel like shit!" Then Savitar hijacks the plot, and only NOW do we know who he is. Near the end of the season, which was a problem I had with the first 2 seasons, but it's like they deliberately made the mystery Savitar's identity drag on even longer for tradition! And then there's Caitlin's whole "Oh no I don't WANT to become Killer Frost" and she becomes evil because reasons.

And if you want last week's criticism, here it is. The entire episode happened because the cast is filled with fucking morons. "Hey guys, if Savitar's gonna find out due to Barry, let's not tell Barry our plan!" "Fuck that, make him unable to remember new things which we never tried before so we can majorly fuck up, and even if we're successful, Barry not being able to remember anything new from this point would be damaging to his job at the police department and life as a whole"
Not to mention it took a drop of sweat to break those glasses in the courthouse. Really? You're telling me that a group of scientists who made the Cold gun, a cell Metahumans can't escape from and MORE are too stupid to think "Hey, people sweat when under pressure in a courthouse, and Barry doesn't remember anything, so he'll likely sweat buckets, let's fix that!"

EDIT: Oh, and because season 3 is just the first 2 seasons but without what made those so enjoyable but rather constant drama, I predict they'll kill Julian during the final episode like how important characters had to die in season 2 to keep the new tradition. And Flashpoint gets undone after beating Savitar meaning Julian will never have existed and this whole season has been nothing but a waste of time for all of us!

From what I've seen, I'm must tired the the Bat worship and the continued dumping on Clark, to the point of effectively replacing him with Kara as Bruce's trusted Kryptonian in the ending they clearly want you to pick.

In other news, Manchester Black is back, so that's some appropriate timing with the release of Injustice 2.

Yup Diana and Clark are my favorite DC heroes along with Green Arrow so seeing their characters destroyed like this makes me hate everything to do with Injustice and NRS especially since they redeemed Hal in the same damn game.Why does WB insist on making their heroes unlikable jerkasses outside the comics?

Yeah JLA seems to remember to have fun and let it's heroes be heroes.

To be fair, NRS seems to like to make Liu-Kang a bad guy these days, so its a bit more on NeatherRealms than WB with this. They have this thing about knocking their paragons/"faces" down a peg.

Honestly I don't mind dark stories, but I'm confused by MK's treatment of their initial lead, and I'm tired of DC catering to the anti-Supes DC viewers.

And I like Man of Steel, so I'm complicated and not some "Superman never kills" bloke. But BvS took whatever good was to be found from both sides of the MoS argument and drowned them.

I'm not denying that Season 3 hasn't been a let down compared to the first two seasons, because there has been plenty I have been let down by. Mirror Master and Shade were insults to their comic incarnations. I'm also tired of watching super villains that don't wear their friggin costumes. Captain Cold is the only Flash villain who should be wearing regular-esque clothes.

However, this season has given us a lot of great things like Invasion, HR, Kaitlyn becoming Killer Frost, Kid Flash, and Gorilla City that I am willing to overlook the negatives.

Do I agree with every decision? God no. I think some things are down right stupid. Can I accept them? Yes. This is a comic book super hero show, not Better Call Saul, after all. The complaints we have with Season 3 will help us get a better Season 4. That is the great thing about seasons. If they screw something up in one, they can listen to the feedback to rectify it in the next, and I'm sure they will and have. Hell, they have already stated there will be no main speedster villain next season. Chances are, it will be The Thinker.

Actually, I don't recall Flashpoint being promoted any bigger than the last two season premiers. It was the fans and online communities that were making a big deal out of Flashpoint. Flashpoint in the show seemed to be more of what Geoff Johns had originally planned for the comics before Didiot got his bald fat ego in the way. It was never meant to be anything major, just a simple Flash "What if" story.

Update on my Injustice 2 DLC problem. I went to one of my frequent gaming retailers to see if they could sort it out, turns out all the codes were misprinted hence why it was QR Codes only. I've got the fiv 4 digit code and will install it after school. Thank god

It is about time someone has finally pointed out the biggest issue this show has been having for the last few seasons. I liked this episode even though it was flawed. Chase is such a boring villain and he isn't anything new. The ending has me excited for next week's episode though. About time WB let them bring Deathstroke back! I hope this means this childish embargo is over and WB has finally come to their senses. I did also like how they used Black Siren against Quentin.

Black Lightning is supposed to air winter when the other shows are on winter break. It's also apparently not part of the Arrowverse, which is a shame.

I hope so, too. I was hoping that the show would end up on Supergirl's Earth so that series could have some of the more casual crossover stuff Flash and Arrow do. The big issue seems to be that all the other DC shows film in Vancouver and Black Lightning is filming in Atlanta.

It wouldn't have gotten a second season if that was the case, but clearly, it's not.

They gave Jane the Virgin, Legends of Tomorrow, The Originals, and Supernatural renewals. So something being garbage on their network is irrelevant. At least they finally ended Vampire Diarrhea.

Kind of pointless to even make a Black Lightning show if it isn't going to be in the same universe. On the other hand, that gives me a reason to not watch it.

Well that is just it though. I don't see any reason to watch Black Lightning now that it isn't connected. I'll do what I did way back then with Arrow and wait for the whole season to air, read the reviews, and see if it gets renewed before I even touch it.
