Because that's a terrible manuver for a Toy Driven show where the status quo changes every year.

It only worked for Gokaiger because Gokaiger's concept of "pirates use the past Sentai powers to fight evil" allowed such a concept.

I kinda wish Gokaiger had taken the concept a little further to be honest.

Rather than getting Machalcon as the final mecha, I wanted them to get a second combiner where each component was from a different series.

Guess I should go buy some zord builder stuff and live out that fantasy :lol

They'd have to make brand new suits and props for them too, as the originals from more than a few years ago aren't likely to be usable. If they still exist at all.

Do you aware most of us are adults and some of us watched Super Sentai that was aimed for Little Kids.

Basically we are grown up adults watching a kid show! I don't know if Kamen Rider is considered to be a Kid Show because they got more silly in recent one even though Ex-Aid is aiming for a Dark Tone

No? Why should it aim for adults? It's a kids show designed to sell toys. I don't want a 2 parter about the Pink senshi contemplating suicide after having a miscarriage mid-battle, the Green senshi dealing with a heroin addiction that eventually takes his life, or the Red senshi finding out his fiancée, Yellow, is cheating on him with his best friend Blue. It's a kids show and we like watching kids shows for FUN. Just have FUN. It's why something like GochiUsa is popular, it's nice and happy and upbeat to help escape your troubles.

And Ex-Aid has an apparent dark tone? Even Gaim wasn't full Urobuchi this early on. What you're seeing is the villain build up. "Oh who are these guys? They're brooding in the dark and talking ominously, I'm intrigued." That's not really "dark" so much as it's "part and parcel for the series."

Actually, by this point in Gaim, Kouta had gone through a traumatic experience involving a mysterious Rider beating the crap out of him while giving a lecture that made it very clear what he was getting wrapped up in was way bigger in scope than just some underground game, so it was well on its way there, if anything. Gaim telegraphed its alleged "shift" in tone a whole lot, so if Ex-Aid does suddenly become *dark*, it'd actually be quite a surprise.

I won't lie though, I kind of want to see a series where one of the main characters dies of a drug addiction now. It'd be like, topical, or something. :p

A Goranger film with a Kingsman-esque vibe would work well. I can do without the gore but the quirkiness was well executed in that film which Goranger could apply.

I was watching kid shows back when people really looked down on anyone over ten years old doing so - I and other proto-'cool nerds' took the lumps so you can hang out at the water cooler and discuss Adventure Time without fear of being mocked as a "moron". So, fuck no, I don't care. My main problem with Sentai has always been the repetition of basic narrative structure - too boring for me.

I don't think Sentai is aimed at little kids. It's just a different kind of show. It's more episodic so you can flip on the TV and hop right in, it has a greater emphasis on humor, which there's nothing wrong with, and the story lines are at the discretion of the writer.

I don't mind it at all. It's repetitive, but it's no kiddier than Kamen Rider is.

Which super sentai team is strong enough without their leader and which team is weak without their leader?

Gekiranger was about balance, so they were strong without their leader (Both of them), and half the Jetmen didn't even want to be Jetmen, so I think without Red Hawk, they'd be rather weak as a team.

We have so many Red Rangers who is Goody Two Shoes! Can we at least have ARROGANT Red Ranger who think of himself than other?

I mean look at Iron Man and Doctor Strange, Both of them are arrogant and a-hole. Why not make Red Ranger or Main Kamen Rider to be Arrogant and A-hole too!

This is going to be a strange question but did Gaoranger have a plot? I mean, I've seen the show and I know stuff happens, like the whole thing with Gao Silver, but did it have an actual storyline? I really can't remember.

Can I ask something? It's a bit out of place but have anyone got a bit case where sometimes Power Rangers are much better than the Super Sentai? Both in terms of actions and plot. As I actually grew up with Power Rangers instead of Super Sentai. Though, I still enjoy recent Sentai series, especially Zyuohger and Toqger.

Most of us actually grew up with Power Rangers, with most of our Sentai experience for years being the MMPR special where Jason and Zach talks about Zyuranger, and Lost and Found in Translation :p

As for PR being better than Sentai, it happens.

Does it? I've never seen a case of that happening. Mayyyybe RPM, but it's so different from Go-Onger it's almost impossible to compare.

Other than the obvious MMPR > Zyu, the other ones I've seen in the past are SPD > Deka and Mystic Force > Magiranger. Not that I agree with either of them but it's all just opinions at the end of the day.

The most common ones I see are RPM > Go-On and In Space > Mega
Some people say SPD > Deka like Zeo says, but they're about even, really.

Don't a lot of people consider Lost Galaxy better than Gingaman for having more flavor?

Really though, I'd wager you'll find somebody who thinks Power Rangers (subtitle) is better than its equivalent Sentai series. It's all a matter of opinion, after all. Like, there's probably even someone out there who thought Super Megaforce was cooler than Gokaiger.

My sentai experience is somewhat limited, I only really started following when Dekaranger came out. But one opinion I have is that Power Rangers is almost always at it's best when it is trying to be it's own thing, and not just a carbon copy of the Sentai series.
Doesn't really answer the question, but I felt it went along with it.

Well, I have a friend who really likes Megaforce- then again, I think he hasn't seen Goseiger. And he never dared to watch Jungle Fury because he's super into Gekiranger xD

Personally, I switched to Sentai because I thought it was better than Power Rangers (though it's more of a "it fits my taste more", because I haven't seen a lot of PR in the first place), so for me, the Sentai version is better by default xD

That is actually pretty true. I remember watching some Dino Charge and I hated it when they used Sentai plots because their own stuff worked so much better for the show.

I still can't bring myself to finish Jungle Fury just because it makes me want to watch Gekiranger more :lol

Could it be that the "Message from the Future from Super Sentai" subtitle of the Zyuohger x Ninninger movie is a reference to the Kyoryuger 100 years later team, and these are their uniforms?

But the team in 100 Years After had the same suits as the show's Kyoryugers.

If you look at their 2016 "Superhero Year" Project, Most of their movies or even a webshow are Kamen Rider stuff but there no Superhero Year Project Movie or a webshow for Super Sentai

Most of Super Hero Taisen movies feel like a Kamen Rider movie than Super Sentai movie or even a team-up movie!

I know they keep making more Super Sentai because their mechas are the reason of why Super Sentai keep going and they are apparently contact with Saban to make Power Rangers but I feel they just got lazy with Recent Super Sentai with the whole episodic fillers and forced mecha fights! They just become too kid-friendly for adults that ain't into kid stuff!

I heard Dino Charge was better received than Kyoryuger! I regret of watching Kyoryuger. It just feel like a Kamen Rider Show than Super Sentai show!

My suggestion is just take a break from Super Sentai or else it will end up become Call of Duty of Toku show!
