Raimi has reportedly already passed on The Flash, as did Marc Webb. They're not involved.

Whoa, oops. One of my friends just told me he dropped out and I was cheering. He didn't tell me there was a reason why though. OUCH!
|
Well that was pretty meh overall. The whole explanation for why Superman is helping the queen was so dumb and rushed. That whole fight was rushed too.
Speaking of the queen, who would have thought that she wouldn't keep her word? I know I never saw that coming, nope, not at all. About time they show that Cat does indeed know Kara is Supergirl and I'm quite certain that is why she gets all prissy whenever Clark is around. As for Mon-El, I figured something was going to happen given that they never gave him a costume. Hopefully though he is now in the future and will get one there. Not sure what is up with the final scene as that seemed out of the blue. I just hope it doesn't end up being someone lame like Eradicator or Power Girl. Overall, this season ranged from mediocre to down right awful. It is a shame because the first few episodes of the season were really strong, the guy they got to play Superman was great, and Kara herself is a lovable character. Unfortunately, this season really suffered due to the lack of Cat, forced relationships that took up way too much screen time and had way too much drama, and plot devices that were just dumb overall. I have no idea what happened with the writing between the switch from CBS to CW, but they really need to get their shit together big time next season. I liked the persona of Lena, however, they completely screwed her over left and right and made her a dummy half of the time. Hopefully they will treat her as the intellect she is supposed to be next season. Another negative is they ran out of ideas as to what to do with Jimmy. They need to send him back and hopefully keep Cat from this point forward. I'm going to give Supergirl Season 2 a 5/10 with the worst episodes being the one where Alex told Kara her love for Maggie in the most stilted, unnatural manner and the one with Mr Mxyzsptlk. Oh, and I guess I have to count the musical episode as one too. The best was hands down the one with Lena being framed. |

The Flash finale was pretty good. Not as good as I wanted it to be but it was alright. I love the part where Barry phases Savitar out of his suit and it lights up red. Probably one of the coolest Flash scenes. More teasing about Devoe/The Thinker. The ending was pretty sad. I'm curious how they'll get him back if there always has to be a prisoner in the speed force.
RIP H.R., my favorite character to ever be on the show. |
Incoming rage and spoilers for Flash finale:
Wow, what a piece of garbage ending for a piece of shit season. This makes me hate that garbage cinematic universe even more now because this only happened due to that piece of shit Ezra Miller playing Barry in that upcoming piece of shit Justice League movie!!!!! I hope the movie bombs so hard that everyone at WB gets fired for stupidity. Why did Jay not go back into the speed force then when he did it before? This was so stupid. They should have just had it be a chain reaction thunder storm that started to give random citizens speed abilities ala Rebirth. Not this laziness. So that aside, the opening was also another cop out. Not that it wasn't obivious that HR and Iris switched places, but how rushed and halfassed the entire explanation was. It didn't make any sense. They should have switched places BEFORE Iris went to Earth 2 and have that be the reason why Iris gave her dad the ring. Oh god my brain hurts. On a positive side, Julian didn't die, so that was surprising. I expected him to sacrifice himself so Caitlyn could return. She'll most definitely be back by the mid season break next year though. I did actually like what they were trying to do with Savitar, but it all ended up being just a waste of time since that would have meant no big fight scene at th end. Heaven forbid they do something different for a change. At least the fight itself was cool for the whole 30 seconds it lasted. I did like Flash in the Savitar armor though as the red really made it pop. Although, he went from being Megatron to The Fallen. :D Overall, this season was a huge step backwards for what the show did in its first two. That isn't to say it was all bad, because there were a lot of great things that came out of it, but they were few and far inbetween. There was a total disrespect to the source material this year though and I don't know what happened, but whoever was in charge should be fired. What they did to classic villains like The Shade and Mirror Master was insulting. Turning Flash into the mopey brat they did spat on everything The Flash stood for, but I guess that is what DC wants. They don't want heroes, they want thugs. They want everyone to be as much of a loser as those that proclaim to be heroes as The Watchmen. I hope they rectify this crap early on next season and bring Barry back quickly because there is no way this version of Wally can handle a show on his own. Not just that, but they need to return to being accurate to the source material and apologize for the stunts they pulled this season. Hell, wipe out of continuity with a retcon. I don't care what, just get rid of it. There is more that I want to say, but I've already spent enough time on this season. So much time defending it for no reason whatsoever. Thanks DC. Thanks a lot. Now I look like a fool for wanting to see the brighter side of your franchises. I give Flash Season 3 a 5/10. |
Well this was a ground breaking finale for Arrow. It was so refreshing to not have Star City under a big siege or something for a change. The return of both Deathstroke and Boomerang was nice, albeit wasted. Obviously Malcom and Boomerang are not dead though because we didn't see their bodies. The fight choreography was really top notch again and I really loved how the flashbacks were integrated into this episode. It is the way they used to be. Of course, with that said, NO MORE FLASHBACKS!!!! Yay!! Everything has come full swing. Obviously everyone got off the island in time, but at least it didn't pull some bs exile moment or something. Had there not been a cliffhanger ending, this could have easily made for a great series finale, but nope, it just couldn't last five minutes longer.
I really don't get the notion that every series these days has to have a cliff hanger ending. If people are going to drop the show, they are going to drop it whether it leaves off or not. The only thing you are doing is hurting the fans that are going to come back because it doesn't give them closure. Overall, this season was a mixed bag, but it was a vast improvement over seasons 3 and 4. Prometheus was a lame villain and it being Chase was way too obvious. Nevertheless, we did get a really great cast of characters and there were a lot of strong episodes this season with the best of them being the gun registration one. Felicity remains the biggest negative of the show so I would like to either see her go or take a big step back for a while. The flashbacks were done quite well this season and they felt like they were related to the narrative as a whole again. It's far from perfect, probably tettering on agressively average, but you know what, at this point I'll take an average season over a subpar one like we got with Flash, Supergirl, and Legends. I'm going to give the season a 7/10. |
Yeah, Flash finale was kinda anti-climatic...
|
Really surprised by how my opinions of Flash and Arrow very much swapped as their seasons progressed. That finale last night was just great.
|
i been reading and hearing mix view on each finale. some loved flash finales some hated it.
|
Personally, I found that Flash Season 3 had a really strong start, but started to go downhill towards the halfway point.
On the flip side, I feel the reverse for Arrow which started slow but the built up momentum towards the halfway point. |

Wonder Woman reviews are going up with the lowest so far being 80%. That's great!

*Sees Wonder Woman being loved across the board*
Good. Good for Diana. Especially with her bitch Alt. Version being prominent in the InJustice game out right now. |
I hope the future DCEU films will model after this success.

I'm just surprised Wondy's outdoing Bats and Supes.

Wonder Woman looks to be the best of Thor and Captain America rolled in one. Looking forward to seeing it in theaters.

So I saw Wonder Woman yesterday. Definitely worth all the approval and praise it's been receiving. The first time I actually enjoyed a DCEU film. Having it set as an origin story in the past definitely steered it away from the dark and gritty setting of the modern era/time that the previous three films took place, and thats what I liked about it. Surprisingly funny as well, it had some good humorous moments, and I loved the action. Hope DCEU looks at what they did to make Wonder Woman great and somehow apply it to the rest of their films. IMO, still got a hell of a way to redeeming themselves but Wonder Woman is definitely a start.

I don't know if this has been spoken of yet, since I'm not a very big presence in the comic realted threads, but I just read an interesting article.

That article is pretty ridiculous.
But then so is Gotham so it's probably true. |
That could make me actually want to watch Gotham if it turned out to be Earth 3.
|
Just starting watching Young Justice with my friends. Surprised how fast everything seemingly went, glad that season 3's happening then!
|
Good job Diana.
I guess I'll be seeing Justice League then... |
I just saw the Wonder Woman movie too. It was really good for what it was, but I just don't think I'm a big fan of the style of Western Superhero stuff usually. It was a good time though!

The only thing I really wasn't a big fan of was the five year time skip in season 2. |
I've been thinking.
What if the DCEU did Outlaws chasing down Joker instead of Suicide Squad? It would be at its core Jason trying to get revenge on Joker hiring two vigilantes Arsenal and Starfire making it simpler and more manageable. Get rid of the random gooey zombies and kiss Enchantress good bye and between the second act have Batman trying to stop Jason from making a mistake he will regret. In the end the two "reconcile" and give Joker a good beating but fail to arrest him as he flees the scene But it does not matter for now as Batman finally manage to save Jason from becoming a total villain. Have Batman offer a spot in the Justice League but him saying no and disappear with Arsenal and Starfire. The End. Whatever end credits that tie in with Justice League. |
Personally, I'd prefer them go the Dark Trinity route with the outlaws and have Artimis and Bizarro, or maybe replace Bizarro with someone else if they didn't want to play that card so early. I never liked the Hood/Starfire/Arsenal run.
