Fans wanted Singer to return given on what happen with X3 and Wolverine Origins. I personally glad that those two movies are no longer canon to the series given how the new timeline seem to erase them. I used to like Wolverine Origins, but I hated it on a second viewing.
|
Some fans wanted Singer to return, I'll give you that. Heck, maybe even the majority. It doesn't mean it was the best decision for the franchise, though, creatively, at least. Singer's X-Men films, to me, are like Bay's Transformers entries: not very good movies that make a ton of money at the box office.

Then yeah, I'd like to see him return, then. I just assumed Singer directed it since he seemed to direct every other X-Men movie but Last Stand, that I could remember. |

So, I'm a little confused. Taskmaster debuted in the Avengers, but he appears in Spider-Man a decent amount of times, but he also partners up with Deadpool on occasion while also fighting the X-Men on occasion.
So is his movie rights with Marvel Studios, Sony, or Fox? Quote:

Something that irritates the nerd in me is that the teenage versions of Cyclops, Jean Gray, e.t.c. are all out of sync with the chronology. Aren't a lot if them who appeared in X-men 1 in thier late 20s, earlier 30s? Because if this movie was late 80s, I'd be okay with it, since 10-15 years after this is the original X-men, and the chracters would fit the ages.

Marvel Netflix count rises to 5! Jon Bernthal gets his own show! :D

I'm just glad the rumors of cutting Iron Fist's show in half for the Punisher wasn't true.
Well, I'm pretty excited. I doubt he'd play much of a role in the Defenders, but I'm glad he's getting a show. He was pretty cool in Daredevil (A hell of a lot more interesting than Elektra). |

These days I kinda wish we had at least a season of that Pryde of The X-Men cartoon before we got the more prominent one from the 90s.
I liked the animation in that. |
I'm going to do a quickie video review tomorrow of Civil War, but right now, three things:
1. This is what Avengers 2 should have been. 2. BEST LIVE ACTION SPIDER-MAN EVER!!! 3. Doesn't top The Winter Soldier, but it is the second best Marvel movie ever and the third best comic book movie ever. Oh, wait, but there's more: OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! THEY GAVE SPIDER-MAN HIS LOGO FLASHLIGHT FROM THE 60S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Civil War is not a movie. It is the real documentary of Earth whatever number they give it these days.
|
Saw Civil War. Loved every second of it. It took the good parts of Winter Soldier and then fixed all the parts that movie was lacking. Such fun~
It really felt like Batman V Superman done right. |
My almost spoiler free video review of Civil War. The only spoiler is after the credits, so you can stop there if you haven't seen the movie yet (not that it is that big of a spoiler):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9e5tLvW6wJI Also trying something new with my Quickie Reviews by not showing any movie footage since Hollywood is getting ridiculous with their copyright claims, so let me know if it worked. This may be the best way for me to do Quickie reviews. Although, I feel like I'm ripping off Jeremy Jahns a little with this one... |
I just got done watching Jessica Jones at last (meant to do it like three weeks ago but more important things ended up taking my time). It was petty great. I don't remember Daredevil well enough to make any comparisons, so I don't remember if I liked it more than JJ or not, but regardless, both are super solid shows. I can't wait for Luke Cage and everything else after that.
And now I can finally start season 2 of Daredevil. Should be fun times. |
How many Netflix shows is Marvel going to do since we have Iron Fist, Punisher and Luke Cage next?

At least those three, plus the Defenders (which I'm guessing may come out before the Punisher). Jessica Jones at least is getting a second season too, and I'd imagine if the rest of them continue to be consistent in their high quality, they probably will get extra seasons too.
|
I wonder if The Defenders is set in stone, because I think She-Hulk would be a great addition to the Netflix line up (And I would love to see Foggy react to dealing with a 7 foot tall green woman in court :p)
|
I feel like a 7 foot tall green woman may be hard to pull off well on a tv show budget.
|
Oh yes. That's right. Reality.
|
Yeah. :/
I mean, I think a She-Hulk show would be very interesting, but seeing any heroes in these shows with fancy powers like that will probably always be a long shot. Budget is definitely one of the reasons all the MCU shows so far have focused almost entirely on people either without powers or with powers they don't need to do a lot of fancy effects to portray. Anything bigger will probably only show up in the movies. |
Civil War=Yes. Loved seeing the cast all together again, as well as the newcomers. While originally perceived as an Avengers 2.5, it felt more like a sequel to Winter Soldier, a journey for Black Panther and a sure sign that Phase 3 will be different and the same at the same time. Gotta say I loved this movie.
Also Elizabeth Olsen <3 still my favorite Marvel girl |
X-Men First Class - Still the best X-Men movie to date with the best score from the franchise and it gives us the most badass Magneto on screen. I give it an 8/10.
|
Finally saw Civil War today and I loved it. Not sure if I love it as much as Winter Solider...if nothing else, the movie definietly needed more Cap.
Not really excepting SHIELD to tie into this movie in any significant way but we'll see... |
Honestly, it seems more like Shield is in its own separate universe at this point. Sure, they say it isn't, and they make hints it isn't, but it no longer feels like a connected show.

And sadly, ABC has canceled "Agent Carter." :(
